chuck's dead

Looking for new blogs to follow...

So because of school and various other reasons I’ve been pretty absent from here for the past year or so, which means that I lost a great deal of followers (lots of people which I liked and cared about :C ). Anyway, I’m trying to make a comeback, because I seriously miss being on Tumblr. So if you’re a fan of any of the following, like or reblog, you know the drill (please please be my friend) :

  • Mass Effect
  • Dragon Age
  • Fallout
  • Assassin’s Creed
  • Bioshock
  • Watch_Dogs
  • The Last Of Us
  • The Elder Scrolls
  • Portal

  • Hunger Games
  • Scrubs
  • Chuck
  • The Walking Dead
  • Orphan Black
  • Legend Of Korra/The Last Airbender

Dance boot camp is killing me… Governor’s School of the Arts is actually murdering what little bit of emergency mental health I had left… I’m scoially exhausted and I think I may have the flu…

I’ve been stock piling imagines for you guys and they’re coming at you rapid fire tonight!

Is it sad that the first person I think about is Archangel Michael? And I was like well that was something we didn’t know.

Quttinirpaaq – Dead September LP (Rural Isolation Project)

These life-scraping noisenik nihilists’ Bandcamp blurb-age is review content from some other word-turd’s outlets, muttering about industrial and electronic and “Psychocandy levels of harshness” and bemoaning punk/techno miscegenation in reference to a particularly beat-centric stretch of unrelenting punishment on this LP. First of all, who actually uses Psychocandy as the yardstick by which harsh noise is measured? Steve fucking Earle? Chuck Klosterman? Co-workers? Dead September, the third LP by this Austin TX scouring pad is driven by simplistic tedium-tempo drum machine pounding (that might as well be programmed the same for each track) that tries to beat the shit out of you rather than give you “beats.” But what really makes up these tracks is just an attempt at over-the-topping of upper-register screech-and-howl that might or might not recall some more brutal brain re-organizers in the vast Wolf Eyes discography. Last quip: Don’t come here if hunting for any evidence of “punks + techno resurgence” cuz while I have a serviceable understanding of what’s at the source of said flimsy gripe, there’s little here to suggest these guys give a flying fuck about self-identifying punk posturing. These beats might be minimal by themselves but I’ll give a week’s worth of personal assistance to whoever can draw a viable connection between anything on this record and what everyone’s hoopin’ it up about re: Detroit circa two-three decades ago. There’s clearly a person on the other side of whatever their vocals were forced through (a megaphone, walkie-talkie, and a Boss HM-2 with all the mid-range and low-end erased?), but unlike fellow townies Burnt Skull, there’s very little humanness to be detected here, which is probably one of the points. Maybe another point was to inspire a subtext of some kind of threshold-meeting via reviews written by scribes with much noise-related listening history, but that’s nowhere near my destination so don’t assume, as it really only makes an ass out of you. I’m afraid that Dead September is mostly “OK … I GET IT ALREADY!” anti-dis-and-dat motivations for the sake of them, therefore interesting in its extremity for no more than a minute of post-play assessment through casual thought processes. Recommended for fans of post-try-too-hardcore and its venerable history of intensity-negation. 300 pressed on white. (

The Mighty Thor #3

There was kind of a wall of text at first, but it was all worth it when Thor decapitated Loki. I loved how Jane was basically saying, “You can talk all you want Loki. I’m just gonna keep beating you up.” That was great. Also loved that ending. Thor sending all the bomb back up into the air and then her falling back down as Jane. That was boss.

I don’t know why I didn’t realize that everyone doesn’t know how Thor is. Everyone doesn’t know Thor is Jane Foster. That makes total sense. There’s no need for her to broadcast it, especially to her enemies. It was also really interesting how Loki said he was stalling so that he could die too. I was not expecting that, but I 100% believe him. Though I wonder what his exact reasoning is and what he plans to do now that he’s not dead.

Thomas hadn’t wanted anyone to know what he had done to Newt, but then something that he never would’ve expected happened.

Hmm, reached the logical conclusion for C2 of Flames, but is this enough?  Lemme check the page count.

…oh, it’s 25 pages longhand.
