“I failed on a climbing problem eight times before realizing I was climbing as high as I knew I could and then letting go. On my next try I climbed with no thought of failure and reached the top. We cannot know what we can do in advance. The only way to find out is to go all-out trying, thinking only of success.” -Royal Robbins

I walked out of [Jurassic Park] with what I thought was a full understanding of genetics. Basically, I knew that if I found my own chunk of amber with a mosquito in it, the likelihood is I could go up in my room and whip out a T-Rex.

OKAY, satans-little-helpers YOU ASKED FOR THIS!

It’s really long because once I started i couldn’t stop. Please forgive me.

[The] attributes peculiar to big wall climbing [are] just being up there, and the extended partnership with Earth and Sky.  Experience suggests that these associations connect us with our roots, with ourselves, with the Whole.

ABC Family Cancels ‘Twisted’

Not surprising and totally deserved after that shitty 1B. It’s a shame cause this show started off strongly and the premise was intriguing but Chuck Pratt & the other showrunners ruined it.

So… at least no more #PoorJo or any of the other 123121349043 Jo-centric hashtags the show featured.

It smells like some bs

Chuck Pratt gets a new job as head writer at Young and The Restless on CBS after he help mess up the second half of Twisted on ABC family. Twisted was about a pretty and popular Black female, her very hot boyfriend and his troubled past and their little friend in the background. The show was popular at first. But …as we all know some head writer / show runner decided to place the poc stories in the back and pushed the #poor jo up front. ….
But Chuck got a new job at CBS.

Mark Goffman messes up an entire S2 of Sleepy Hollow. It is a show about a pretty and smart young Black female cop living in present day who meets a hot tall smart man from the past in Sleepy Hollow and together with her sister and ex chief and others fight evil in the town. Oh yeah there were some background people too ( I liked some). But others had their stories pushed forward at the cost of the show’s ratings.
One word- Katrina. More like a whisper. Katrina was the majority of S2. Of course there was a couple of non Katrina episodes….but lets be honest, it was mostly about her. What happened with the ratings??? Yea. You already know.
The huge difference: They tried to fix it in the last few episodes but I still feel like he was forced to do that.
Of course, Mark has a new job at…CBS.

***All I want to know is if I mess up like these 2 men, can I get better jobs at CBS too? ***

For the record, Sleepy Hollow became totally UNWATCHABLE after the death of Frank Irving, if not before. Scratch another TV show that fails to recognize the importance of social diversity and its corresponding demographic support. The list includes Person of Interest and, hopefully, will NEVER include The Flash. Right now, Iris West (Candice Patton) is golden, but rest assured, if The Flash writers get "hokey" and disrespect her presence, their ratings will be taken down also. On to EMPIRE !

Sleepy Hollow.  *blinks*  I don’t even know what to say about that show anymore, tbh.  I’m totally and completely perplexed at why Goffman decided to upend the show the way he has.  I mean, I’m literally like

I don’t understand.  What has been done to this show is indefensible imo.  It was a thing of beauty.  Bat-shit, shouldn’t-have-worked-but-did, crazy.  FOX was riding high.  They were sitting pretty.  They had buzz, good will and viewers and critics on their side.  Now, that’s all but disappeared.  Unnecessarily at that.  There was absolutely no reason to tamper with a recipe that was relatively perfect (save for Katrina).  The show wasn’t on its sixth season and in need of a shake-up.  And the humongous step backward in diversity on a show that was lauded for it is shameful.  And yes, a betrayal.  Bait and switch at it’s most insidious.

And I can just see Nolan patting himself on the back now for Person of Interest’s “diversity” because he keeps hiring black men to play villains.  *sits back and quietly sips tea*

The Flash writers are doing right by Iris/Candice so far, but if they start acting up, they’re going to have a very pissed, very vocal fandom on their hands.  We’re willing to advocate for her to anyone that disrespects her, and that includes the show’s creators and writers.  But I get the impression that they’re way smarter when it comes to “How to Keep a Successful Show Successful” than Mark Goffman, Jonah Nolan or Chuck Pratt Jr. (Twisted).  They could definitely prove me wrong in the long run, but from what I’ve seen so far, they’ve got my trust (although it’s on a very short leash because I’ve been burned one too many times).

With that being said, Hollywood has a tendency to bait and switch viewers with no qualms whatsoever, so nothing would surprise me at this point.  We’ll just have to stay loud and proud about our love for Iris, Candice and Westallen and hope they continue to do the right thing.

And yaaaassss to Empire!  Can’t wait until tomorrow night.  Finally, the gorgeous and talented Taraji P. Henson will be back on my TV screen.  It’s been way too long.

Bask in Cookie’s fabulousness.  I can already tell she’s going to be my favorite character.
