From this evening. Best Compass I’ve had the pleasure to observe underwater in a while. Completely intact specimen, about 15cm across and maybe a metre and a half long. I wish I’d managed to get some sexier shots of its markings and fully extended tentacles, but visibility was shite beyond the shallows. 

They always look so bland in photos. The actual animals are incredible. The colours! It was like a little glowing caramel and chocolate covered spaceship at a baroque frills party.

I feel really bad because, again, most of these photos are of the jellyfish swirling uncontrollably from my clumsy swimming motions, which really stresses them out. Hopefully it’ll be easier to approach things more delicately as visibility improves and I don’t literally bump into them.
