You lay on the couch watching the other Avengers decorating the christmas tree and the living room. You lean forward and take a mistletoe in your hand to pass it to Bucky, who was coming in your direction.
“Thanks Doll” he winks.
You chuckle at his response and take your hot cup of cocoa from the coffee table. Looking around you start feeling a bit dreadful. If it hadn’t been for your clampsyness you wouldn’t have broken your right leg and you wouldn’t be wearing a cast at the moment. Christmas was your favourite holiday and you couldn’t wait every year to start decorating. Being unable to do that and watching your good frieds doing it was a bit heartbreaking.
“What’s with the face Doll?” Bucky asked from behind you.
“What are you talking about?”
He pointed towards your lips ”You’re pouting”.
You realized that while you were lost on your thoughts you had formed a pout with your lips.
“It’s nothing” you shrug.
“Really?” he asks with disbelief.
“Yeah” you nod.
“Fine. If you don’t want to tell me I’ll go back to decorating”.
“No, wait. I’ll tell you. Just please don’t leave” you practicly all but beg.
Truth be told, it was getting lonely sitting on the couch by yourself. Plus, it wouldn’t hurt to have a small chat with your crush.
“I love decorting for christmas but because of my leg I can’t really do anything. It just makes me a bit sad. That’s all”.
“Seriously, that’s why you looked like a kicked puppy?”he asks, a small smile escaping his lips.
“Don’t laugh at me!!”
“Sorry Doll” he grins at you “but I think I have a solution to your problem”.
“Is that so?” you raise an eyebrow.
He nods and hands you the star that is placed on top of the christmas tree.
“What am I AHH!!!What are you doing?!?”
Before you had time to finish your question he had lifted you by the waist carefully to keep your leg straight. He keeps you high and walks you to the christmas tree.
“Put the star in its place” he orders.
You reluctantly reach your hand out and gently place the star. Bucky then moves and sets you on the couch gingerly. He takes a warm blanket from the other side of the couch and wraps it around you.
“Do you feel better now, Doll?”
“Much” you smile sweetly at him and he smiles back.
“Merry Christmas, Buck” you say
“Merry Christmas Y/N” he responds and leans forward to kiss your forehead.
When you feel his graceful lips on your forehead you yarn to lean forward but you know that that would make it awkward. You and Bucky are only friends.
Little do you know, Bucky feels the exact same way about you.
