I am obsessed with sunsets and sunrises. Because no matter how awful or how amazing my day was, the sun always sets at night and always rises in the morning. No matter my circumstances, there is that sunset and that sunrise. And I think it is a beautiful picture of God’s love for us. Constant, never changing, always beautiful. Even when the skies are gray, the sun is rising and setting. We just can’t see it. Even when we go through difficulties in our lives, God is still there moving in our hearts. And I adore this verse. His mercies never end. Just to meditate on that first part of this verse. They NEVER end. Not even when I’m knee deep in the filth of my sin. Not even when my heart is in so much pain that I can’t see through the clouds of my life to see God moving. His mercies never end. And just like the sun rises in the morning, His mercies are new every morning.
No matter what you go through, He is there. No matter how angry you are, how selfish you are, how jealous you are, or whatever other sin you struggle with, no matter what. His mercies never end. They are new every morning.
