chortens

While travelling through Ladakh you will see many of this group of Three Chörtens or Stupas. They represent the three Boddhisattvas who are the main protective deities of all Buddhas, each of them symbolizing one of the Buddha’s virtues: the yellow stupa refers to Manjusri, the manifestation of all the Buddhas’ Wisdom; the white stupa symbolizes Avalokitesvara, the manifestation of all the Buddhas’ Compassion; the blue stupa represents Vajrapani, the manifestation of all the Buddhas’ Power.

This group of Three Protection Chörtens are to be found in the village of Garkone, Aryan Valley, Beema, Lower Ladakh.
