Gomenasai, my name is Mathias-Sama

I’m a 47 year old Ishgardian Ronin (knight-errant for you gaijins). I draw Doman artwork on traditional scrolls, and spend my days perfecting my art and playing superior Doman games. (Shogi, Go, Chinese Checkers)

I train with my Katana every day, this superior weapon can cut clean through steel because it is folded over a thousand times, and is vastly superior to any other weapon on Hydalyn. I will earn my samurai soul on the 21st sun of the 3rd Umbral Moon in the 1st year of the 7th Astral Era, and I’m going to get better every day!

I speak Doman fluently, both Othard and the Au Ra dialect, and I write fluently as well. I know everything about Doman history and their bushido code, which I follow 100%

When I get my Doman visa, I am moving to Kugane to attend a prestigious dojo to learn more about their magnificent culture. I hope I can become the shogun of shoguns like my idol Legatus Xenos Yae Galvus!

I own several kimonos, which I wear around Ul'Dah. I want to get used to wearing them before I move to Doma, so I can fit in easier. I bow to my elders and seniors and speak Doman as often as I can, but rarely does anyone manage to respond.

Wish me luck in Doma!

YB: “It’s always the happiest moment when the five of us are together.”

TAEYANG: Ahh… This happened recently when we were having a tour in China. Due to restrictions, we were not allowed to leave the hotel when we were in China. Hence, we can only stay inside the hotel. However, it was too boring so we gathered together and played everything that we could play in the hotel. Fans who saw our SNS should know that.. We’ve played Chinese Checkers.. Actually we don’t really feel like playing it but we are honestly too bored… We played all sorts of games together, from Chinese checkers to Gomoku, and games like buying houses/properties… We’ve also played games where many will think that “Oh even this game too?” and games we’ve played during childhood. As compared to luxurious things and stuffs like that, I prefer subtle things like spending time together. It’s always the happiest moment when the five of us are together.

Functions as board games

SUBMITTED by Steve (Fe/Fi added by Charity)

Introverted Sensing (Si): Trivial Pursuit

This game literally rewards whoever has gone through their lives collecting the most amount of pointless information in their mental database, ‘nuff said! Just don’t take it the wrong way when your defeated opponents yell “Well at least I have a life!!” at you. It’s quite possibly true, but it’s also coming from a place of anger.

Extroverted Sensing (Se): Operation

No strategy at all, just excellent hand/eye coordination. If it’s too intense, try Hungry Hungry Hippos, if it’s not intense enough, go with Twister.

Introverted Intuition (Ni): Battleship

The ultimate game of blind guesses. “Dave is WAY too OCD to put two ships right next to each other. Unless he expects me to think that! Hmmm….”  ’'I just got this vibe from him when I tried G-5, I betcha I narrowly missed his patrol boat.“

Extroverted Intuition (Ne): Scattergories

Start with one letter, let your mind go crazy finding all the words you can think of with said letter. Ne-Doms might try to push their luck here though. Sorry, but I’m just not accepting ’'Twerking” in “Works of art”.

Introverted Thinking (Ti): Chess

This game is tailor-made for Ti. “What’s my best move?” “What’s my next move after that?” “What will be his move if I do this?” From personal experience I can tell you all Ti’s I have played against have indeed mopped the floor with me. And yes, this includes ESTPs. You may think they’re too cool for chess, but the truth is, if these bastards try it, they fall in love with it and instantly become really good. True story.

Extroverted Thinking (Te): Monopoly

Every Christmas, that ESTJ in your family wants to cut all the sentimental crap and pull out Monopoly so he can brag about winning all night. You know it. Making money, managing money, buying real-estate, managing real-estate, bankrupting your friends etc. Cue Chandler Bing: “Could this game BE more Te??” Granted, some NTJs out there might find that real-estate is too small-scale for them, so I hope you have the game of Risk handy.

Extroverted Feeling (Fe): Charades

It demands group participation, emotional engagement, broad (and often hilarious) gestures and good “connections” to other players to be effective. It works best when both teams are in sync with their teammates.

Introverted Feeling (Fi): Chinese Checkers

Both a game of strategy and chance, Chinese Checkers is one of the least-mean multiple-player games on the market, where everyone gets a fair chance to win and no one is ever sent home. This game requires putting your pieces first – you have to get across the board! But if everyone is playing just for themselves, the board turns into a disaster zone and no one gets anywhere. The key element of winning is choosing who to help, and who not to help, while all the time aiming to win yourself.

“🙋” - 3 headcanons each for super sisters, supercanary and supercorp if you're up for that?

*cracks knuckles* For you? Always.

  1. Alex was the first one to introduce Kara to potstickers. I have this headcanon that when Kara first came to Earth, she couldn’t stand human food at all because it all just tasted so wrong. Alex, being slow to warm up to Kara, didn’t really care if she ate or not. But, as time went on, she got concerned. One Friday night, she convinced her parents to get take out and offered Kara some of the potstickers, her favorite food. And Kara loved them. Not only because of their taste, but because it was the first thing Alex ever offered her as a show of accepting Kara as her sister.
  2. When Kara was a baby freshman in high school, she got her heart broken by some jerk who just wanted to see how far he could string her along. When Alex got wind of this, she cornered him in the gym and beat the tar out of him, making him promise to apologize and then never talk to Kara ever again. To this day, Kara has no idea what happened, just that he seemed really sorry about what he’d done.
  3. Alex loves surfing and she’s actually far better at it than Kara. Part of this is due to the fact that she got started earlier, but much of it is because Kara saw how much her sister opened up and really came alive when she surfed, so she never really tried to learn. She didn’t want to take away something else from her new sister

  1. Sara is incredibly aware of the fact that she is a flawed individual who has made many mistakes in her past and because of this, she tries to push away her feelings for Kara. This gets to the point where she actively pushes away Kara’s affections for her. But, Kara makes it very clear that she understands that Sara is not the person she once was, that people have the capacity to change and that’s exactly what Sara has done.
  2. The two bond over being the baby sister of the family. They share stories about their sisters and Kara holds Sara when the memories are too much and she can’t handle the overwhelming loss. After those nights, Kara flies to Alex and wraps her up in a big hug, silently promising to protect Alex at all costs.
  3. While Sara is definitely the more dominant personality (in and out of the bedroom), she loves it when Kara takes charge. She thinks that Kara as Supergirl is one of the hottest things ever and has a bad habit of pulling Kara aside for a quick and messy make out session before missions.

  1. I’ve seen a lot of fanfics about Lena being ridiculously good at every board game known to man and I have a different take. When Kara invites her to game night with the rest of the Superfriends, they all assume that she’d be good at the games. But! She’s actually terrible at them. Maggie and Alex can read her poker face, Winn kicks her butt at trivia, James destroys her in pictionary, they all collectively beat her at Chinese Checkers– she’s just not very good. When the night ends, Lena confesses to Kara that she’s never really had friends to play any of those games so she never bothered to learn. Cue adorable Supercorp cuddles and kisses.
  2. Kara knows that Lena gets super absorbed in her work, so she likes to send Lena little self-care reminders from time to time. She also does this at Lena’s apartment when she stays over and has to leave early. She’ll put little post-its reminding Lena to eat breakfast before she heads out, to bring something for lunch, to take time out of her day to relax, etc. It’s all very cute and Lena appreciates it a lot because no one has ever done anything like this for her before.
  3. While Lena would love to shower Kara in extravagant gifts, she quickly realizes that big, splashy gestures embarrass Kara. Kara is so used to being the invisible, bumbling human that when Lena draws attention to her, it makes her feel uncomfortable. So, instead, Lena does smaller things. She cooks Kara dinner, secretly restocks her ice cream stash, sends her cute puppy pictures throughout the day, etc.
OC Game Time!

Okay, I’m going to post an ask meme for OCs. Basically, say the OC’s name that you’re asking for, then send in an ask with a board game name and the OC will answer the question for themselves.

The creator of the OC will choose which OC(s) they will have answer the questions and according to that/those OC(s), you will ask question(s) and the OC(s) will answer for themselves.

Here we go!

Battleship: What is your power?

Monopoly: Have you ever been called greedy? Tell us about it if you have!

Clue: What were your childhood phases you went through (i.e. dinosaur phase, investigator phase, barbie phase, etc)? Which one was your favorite phase?

Risk: What are you looking forward to those most in your life?

Life: How many kids do you have? How many do you want?

Trouble: Do you consider yourself good-looking?

Sorry: What motivates you to get out of bed in the mornings?

Scrabble: On a scale from 1 (everything embarrasses you) to 10 (nothing embarrasses you), how easily would you say you get embarrassed?

Chess: Who is your favorite family member?

Checkers: What is your favorite board game?

Chinese Checkers: Are you good at strategy?

Ticket to Ride: Do you prefer heat or cold?

Apples to Apples: What kind of sense of humor do you have?

Cards Against Humanity: What is the first scary experience you remember having?

Yahtzee: Are you very lucky?

Trivial Pursuit: What was your first job? Did you like it? How’d you get along with your coworkers?

Backgammon: How old do you want to be when you get married? if you’re already married, how old were you when you got married? What was the wedding like & if you’re not married, what’s your dream wedding?

Pandemic: Do you think you’d survive a zombie apocalypse? Why or why not?

Connect Four: Who was the first member of your family you met outside your immediate family?

Axis & Allies: Who are your closest friends? Tell us about them.

anonymous asked:

What games do you think each individual guard and coven member would enjoy most?

This is going to be the most overly detailed and long answer ever; so it will be partially under a cut. I will be focusing more on modern games because ancient history (well..history in general) is my worst subject. Also- I took “games” as more like board-games (rather than like manhunt, which I’m sure both Demetri and Afton like for different reasons lol) sort of deal, so I hope that’s what you meant! :)

Volturi Coven:

Aro: Red Flags

If you haven’t heard of Red Flags, it is a game where your friends will try to make the “ideal lover” (who you are required to date for at least 3 years) for you by playing two “appealing” cards face-down (e.g.: Iron Chief, loves video games, has an 8 pack, rescues dogs, cured cancer, owns a 5-star restaurant, etc). Then, their opponents will place a “sabotage” card on top of any two cards (e.g.: is a serial killer, will constantly interrupt you, sneezes without covering their nose, will only communicate with you via text message, etc). The goal is to convince the friend whose judging that your fake date is still the best for whatever reason, despite having this major flaw (arguing is encouraged). Aro, of course, is really great at sabotaging relationships. So, of course, he enjoys this game. He also knows exactly what everyone wants in a mate, and is good spinning the negative cards into positives because he knows how everyone thinks.

Although, there will have to be edits to the game to make it more vampire friendly. When I played with my friends, they unintentionally created one that was “has 8-pack, world champion hunter, and serial killer,” which was a pretty terrifying combination. But, that probably actually describes Demetri, and I’m sure a lot of vampires like him for those qualities. Of course “is a vegetarian vampire, who will constantly try to convince you to switch diets” will be a card because yes. But, seriously if you haven’t played this game it’s hilarious and fun.

Chinese Checkers (US and Canadian spelling) or Chinese chequers (UK spelling)[1] is a strategy board game of German origin (named “Sternhalma”)

The game was invented in Germany in 1892 under the name “Stern-Halma” as a variation of the older American game Halma.

Halma (ancient Greek for “jump”) derived from the British game Hoppity

[Chinese Checkers] was introduced to Chinese-speaking regions mostly by the Japanese.

It got there eventually!

Lovecraft doesn’t care.

Well, that might not be totally true but he certainly wasn’t jumping to his feet out of righteous duty. He didn’t have a reason to after all, no personal stakes. Kunikida wasn’t directly involving himself so he didn’t even need to budge for protection’s sake.

Chuuya just wasn’t important to Lovecraft, there was no emotional bond to tug on, but he would be lying to say that Chuuya wasn’t special. He was. Chuuya had the unique property of being positively frightening to Lovecraft. Fear welled up in the Old Being’s deepest recesses thick like rotten blood, a feeling he didn’t have often and therefore in a way it was refreshing. It wasn’t fear for his own life, nothing could threaten that but oh… Chuuya was cosmic. He was radiant with a power that touched the stars, his existence belied something scary to Lovecraft, who himself wasn’t all he might appear to be.

Chuuya’s very being brushed up against something forbidden and dark. He was oh so very mortal but in him there was the traces of the universe, wisps, memories of ghosts that held more knowledge alone than the human race combined. He was a black hole with no end, fathomless depth, a beautiful void. Lovecraft… Wanted to warn him, a peculiar kinship fueling his concern. He pitied Chuuya for this “gift” for it held the potential to draw the eyes of real gods. Eyes you do not want trained on you, eyes belonging to things of ash and dust and creation itself, beings you do not want noticing you.

Chuuya is more godlike than any of the mortal men who harbor god-complexes squabbling like children now the least of which is Fyodor. Chuuya is just simply an anomaly that Lovecraft wants to observe but feels no greater pull to protect… At least not totally. Lovecraft is lazy, indifferent, and easily complacent. Admittedly, if asked to protect and guard he would say yes and he did when Dazai called, but it’s not Lovecraft’s word that comes last.

Lovecraft can’t fight in Dazai’s crusade for his lover, tediously nicknamed the Queen, without Fitzgerald’s order and there was no order. Lovecraft did see the look on his face, he saw and felt the tension because to Lovecraft Chuuya is a spectacle but to Fitzgerald he is more. He cares where Lovecraft does not.

He does, however, hesitate. After all, to speak the language, Fitzgerald is the third king in a game set up for two. Along with him he carries his own pieces and pawns and assets; his bishops, his rooks, his queen. Then, it wouldn’t be chess, it would be cards, or chinese checkers, or go whatever these humans wish to cling to. With Fitzgerald’s wish he could clutter the board.

It was not his wish, for now, and thus Lovecraft doesn’t care.

heres my high school au where the gsa consist of dirk, john, rose, meenah, feferi. dirk rose and meenah are using it as an excuse to fuck around and eat snacks and play competitive chinese checkers. technically it counts as an extracurricular on their transcripts so theyre like yeah whatever. feferi and john think they should ACTUALLY be trying to HELP the poor kids who feel like they have no one with SCHOOL OUTREACH!!! but dirk rose and meenah are way too jaded and just want to eat a bunch of Cheese Ruffles and feferi and john just mean so well they mean so very well but god would they just like shut up for two seconds maybe
