Asian American youth need to learn about their history. Learn about the Chinese Exclusion Act and Angel Island. Learn about how the US military treat Asian women in the countries they were stationed in. Learn about the Japanese internment camps. Learn about the hate crimes committed against Asian people. Learn about what the US did in Vietnam and Korea during the wars.
Understand that Asian people will never be able to attain the status that white people have as long as a white supremacist system exists. Asian people will never be equal to white people under white supremacy, no matter how hard they work or how “successful” they become.
The goals of Asian American activism must be to dismantle white supremacy, or it will not accomplish anything, especially not in the long run.
