I was just recovering from a break up and had actually bunked school. I was lying in bed with a tub of ice cream and I heard my mum and agent crawling up the stairs and I was thinking ‘Oh god, what have I done? Are they going to come and tell me off and that I have to go back to school?’ And then she went ‘Surprise! You’ve got the Tim Burton job.’ I was balling my eyes out, but look at that – doesn’t the universe work in such amazing ways? [on finding out she landed the role of Emma]

“I think it’s very important that I was first and foremost a mother, if I have the chance. But it definitely has to be balanced. Eventually, I’m going to take on more responsibilities. But this does not mean that now I do nothing at all. Of course, I spend a lot of time with my kids, but I also have an obligation to Childhood - which takes a lot of my time. And then, I’m working on a separate project, my book project. I can not tell you more. But it is connected with the children’s book world. We will see in the future what happens. You will definitely learn more!”

Princess Madeleine revealed in an interview with Expressen that she currently working on writing a children’s book. The Princess posed outside of the Southbank Centre for photographer Olle Sporrong and gave an exclusive interview to Expressen before opening the Nordic Children’s Library on February 14th, 2017.
