it’s like in the great stories, mr. frodo, the ones that really mattered. full of darkness and danger they were, and sometimes you didn’t want to know the end because how could the end be happy? how could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? but in the end it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. even darkness must pass. a new day will come, and when the sun shines it’ll shine out the clearer.
those were the stories that stayed with you, that meant something even if you were too small to understand why. but i think, mr. frodo, i do understand. i know now folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. they kept going because they were holding on to something. that there’s some good in the world, mr. frodo, and it’s worth fighting for.

things that remind me of hobi

-when the wind shakes the leaves of a tree and little bursts of sunshine glow through, like stars in daytime
-ice cream melting in your mouth
-the comfort of a childhood plushie
-rewatching your fave movies
-realizing you have a crush on someone
-the scent of vanilla
-tight hugs
-little affectionate grazes and touches
-the feeling of satisfaction after you finish cleaning
-falling in love with a song you just heard and listening to it on repeat
-the first bright rays of sunshine setting the horizon ablaze
-stepping into sunshine on a cold day and feeling the sun’s warmth on you
-running around and messing about with your best friend in the middle of the night
-witnessing a random act of kindness
-when you make eye contact with a small child/baby and make silly faces to make them laugh
-dancing in the pouring rain
-forehead kisses
-butterfly kisses
-warm clean bed sheets
-the first time you give someone flowers
-coffee dates and long deep conversations
-running away from oncoming waves at a beach
-water fights in summer
-simple but stylish white shirt and black pants look
-laughing so much you can’t breathe properly, your stomach hurts and there’s tears in your eyes
-screaming your lungs out at a concert
-butterflies in your tummy before something big happens
-the glow of gold on brown skin
-the smell of the earth after its rained on a hot day
-falling asleep in someone’s arms
