Here´s a site of a club depicting the Cheruski, the Germanic tribe which defended the Romans in the Varus battle about which I blogged before. The do have details about their clothing cuts and dress code on their website:
Der Hermannsweg im Teutoburger Wald - a hiking route in the region Gütersloh • Bielefeld • Lippe • Osnabrück • Steinfurt. Length of trail: 156 km, takes 8 days, starting in Rheine, ending in Lippischer Velmerstot, easy walk on nature trail. The Hermannsweg is named after the historic hero Hermann the Cherusk who was victorious over the Romans. Here in the Teutoburger Wald the frontier of the Roman Empire was drawn. The area is characterized by hills of medium height, forests, moors, and fields. Some stone formations accentuate the sloping land. At the southern end, the Hermannsweg turns into and continues as Eggeweg.
