With the spirit of Halloween looming, this issue’s theme will be HAUNTED
Send us your ghost stories, your creepy photos, your weird drawings. Talk about your deepest, darkest fears. Think about the past and things that haunt you, think about the future and things that scare you. What are you so afraid of?
ATTENTION ALL ARTISTS / WRITERS / PHOTOGRAPHERS / FEMINISTS / ACTIVISTS ETC.
THIS IS AN OPEN CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS FOR THE FIRST ISSUE OF CHERRY.
I’m starting my first ever online zine and I’d love it if some of you tumblr babes could share some of your amazing talents! There are some truly amazing artists, writers and photographers on here and I’d be honoured to publish some of your work in the first issue of CHERRY.
Here are the guidelines:
- MUST be submitted by March 1st
- Your work must be original, plagiarism is a no go zone
- Please include your name so I can credit you!
- Your work must not have appeared in any other publication before
Please reblog to spread the word!
I hope to create a zine overflowing with talent and inspiration and creativity and feminism, and the final zine will be published on ISSUU.
Also, if anyone is interested in becoming a full time contributor, please just ask!
March 5th marks Cherry’s first birthday! One whole year of sharing some of the best work on the internet and one whole year of you reading it! Time well spent, definitely. To mark this occasion, we are going to create a special issue featuring all the best work from our past 7 issues and we’re hoping to get this one in print!
So here is where we ask for your help: please inbox us or email firstname.lastname@example.org letting us know what some of your favourite pieces have been (this includes everything: photos, poems, opinion pieces, short stories etc.)
Thank you for reading and please share this so we can hear as many voices as possible!
This issue we have explored the idea of home and what it means to different people. Thank you so much everyone who submitted and thank you to the incredible Cherry team for making this issue come together! We hope you enjoy reading it ♥
When the summer you thought would never end starts to come to a close, it’s hard to find that sense of freedom you felt at the beginning. Instead you start to feel this intense pressure to squeeze every drop out of the summer that you can, and it ends up taking the fun out of it. So what we’re looking for are submissions that are to do with spontaneity, living in the moment, taking every chance, basically YOLO-ing. Appreciate your summer and understand and accept that all good things come to an end, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have the best time while it lasts.
As always, any form of submission is welcome: articles, poetry, photography, illustrations, collages, art, opinion pieces, fiction, videos!
All work must be your own, plagiarism is a no go zone
Don’t be a butt
Let me know the names of anyone who is due credit if you are submitting photos
Include your own name (duh) so I can credit you
The deadline is JULY 25TH
SUBMIT VIA THIS LINK OR EMAIL ME YOUR SUBMISSIONS AT: email@example.com
I’ve always felt that September feels more like the start of a new year than January does, there’s so much change: starting school, going to college or uni, the days getting marginally shorter but not so short that it feels like the summer is properly over just yet. So, tell us about your new beginnings! Whether it’s leaving home for the first time, starting new relationships or taking steps into the FUTURE, we want to see what’s new with you.
As always, here are the guidelines:
All work must be your own - plagiarism is a no go zone
Nothing offensive, this is a feminist based zine
Let me know the names of anyone else who is due credit when submitting photos
Let me know YOUR name so I can credit you
The deadline is SEPTEMBER 1ST
Absolutely all forms of submissions are welcome: art, illustrations, collages, photos, opinion pieces, poetry, fiction, videos and anything else you can think of!
So happy to have been able to share all these issues with you in 2014! I am so grateful for all the work done by Cherry’s amazingly talented contributors, without them Cherry wouldn’t even be a thing in existence. Thank you for reading, thank you for contributing, keep the good things coming in 2015 ♥
