Cheryl and Liam Payne, will not be sharing any pictures of their son
They offered the world a glimpse at their newborn on Saturday as they announced the joyous news of the birth.

They offered the world a glimpse at their newborn on Saturday as they announced the joyous news of the birth. But Cheryl, 33, and Liam Payne, 23, will not be sharing any pictures of their son’s face as their main priority is their child’s privacy.

A friend of the couple exclusively told MailOnline: ‘Cheryl and Liam decided they won’t be sharing any pictures as they want to protect the privacy of the baby.’

Revealing that the couple will not be taking part in any magazine deals, they continued: 'They had been offered huge deals from the UK and US but they turned it down as the baby’s privacy is the most important thing to them.'

The news comes after the proud new parents shared a picture of their little one with fans on Saturday. Cheryl welcomed her first child London’s Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, with her partner, Liam, at her side.

She announced the news on Instagram on Saturday as she shared a picture of Liam cradling their little one, captioned: 'On Wednesday 22nd March Liam and I became parents to an incredibly beautiful, healthy baby boy, weighing 7lb 9 and looking like a dream.Although he still doesn’t have a name he is already stealing hearts. We are all madly in love and overwhelmingly happy with our little arrival. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers around the world. A day that now has a different meaning to me forever.’

Liam shared the same picture as he wrote: 'My close friends and family know there are very few times when I’m left speechless…wow! I’m incredibly happy to welcome our new baby boy into the world, it’s a moment that I will never forget for the rest of my life and my favourite memory I have so far. I’m completely in awe of his incredible mother and how she has been the whole way through this, she’s really made my dreams come true. We haven’t named him yet but he’s already capturing hearts including mine. I feel very blessed. Happy Mother’s Day everyone!’

Whilst the couple have not yet settled on a name for their baby boy, Alfie has proven to be one of the front-runners.

Speaking about her desire to become a mother in 2012, Cheryl admitted that she loved the moniker and had already picked it out for if she ever had a son.  Speaking two years after her split from first husband Ashley Cole in 2012, Cheryl told GQ magazine: 'I love kids, I’m obsessed with babies. I know that’s what I was put on the earth to do – to be a mother.’

Cheryl added at the time that she already had a name picked out for a baby boy, telling the magazine: 'Of course I’ve thought about baby names a million times. I like Alfie for a little boy.’

Liam also revealed he’d picked out baby names, telling Hits Radio during his One Direction days: 'I like the name Taylor. Taylor’s pretty neutral for a boy or a girl. That’s what I’m going to call my first child if I had children.’ Liam even went on to hint that he might be ready to have multiple children as he quipped that being with his bandmates 24/7 had given him plenty of practice in playing dad, joking: 'It’s like having four of them!’

Cheryl kept fans guessing for months before confirming her pregnancy in the most public way – at a L'Oreal photoshoot, in which she posed in a close-fitting black dress and cradled her bump. Friends said at the time that she had kept the pregnancy a secret because she didn’t want to 'jinx her happiness’ after years of bad luck in relationships.

The singer was married to England footballer Ashley Cole from July 2006 to September 2010. She married Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini in July 2014, and the pair divorced in October 2016.

Cheryl became a household name when she joined girl band Girls Aloud, who were put together by talent show, Popstars: The Rivals in 2002.

Liam first laid eyes on Cheryl in 2008 when he auditioned for the X Factor but failed to make it through to the live shows. Two years later at the age of 16, he appeared on the series again and joined forces with fellow solo singers to create One Direction, but it wasn’t until February 2016 that they decided to embark on a romance.

During Liam’s time on the show, Cheryl was married to her now ex-husband Ashley Cole. She went on to remarry with Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini in 2014, and announced their separation earlier this year.

Son direction! Cheryl gives birth to a baby boy with Liam Payne
Cheryl and Liam Payne have had their first child, a baby boy, born in a private ward at London’s Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, last week.

She is one of Britain’s biggest stars but managed to keep her pregnancy hidden for an astonishing eight months. And now it appears Cheryl has gone one better – keeping the birth of her first child a secret, too.

The Mail on Sunday can reveal that the former X Factor judge had a boy last week in a private ward at London’s Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, with her partner, One Direction singer Liam Payne, at her side.

The 33-year-old kept fans guessing for months before confirming her pregnancy in the most public way – at a L’Oreal photoshoot, in which she posed in a close-fitting black dress and cradled her bump.

Friends said at the time that she had kept the pregnancy a secret because she didn’t want to ‘jinx her happiness’ after years of bad luck in relationships.

Cheryl first spoke of her desire to be a mother back in 2012, telling GQ magazine: ‘I love kids, I’m obsessed with babies. I know that’s what I was put on the Earth to do – to be a mother.’

And she revealed that she already had a favourite boy’s name lined up: Alfie.

Speculation that the singer had already birth grew last week after her fans pointed to strange activity on her Instagram account. The former Girls Aloud singer ‘liked’ several friends’ baby bump photos, and asked for tips on childcare from her chum Kourtney Kardashian.

Liam, 23, also shared a cryptic tweet that read: ‘Creep around and stay quiet in the morning’ – taken by fans as a sign there was a baby at home.

The couple first met in 2009 when Liam, then a wannabe pop star, auditioned on The X Factor.

They started dating early last year, when Cheryl was in the process of divorcing her second husband, the French restaurateur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini.

Prince Frederick’s Royal Barge

This royal barge was built in 1732 for Frederick, Prince of Wales, son of George II. It was built by John Hall and designed by the architect William Kent. The barge is an open rowing boat, accompanied with 24 oars and is carved and gilded with the royal coat of arms, sea creatures, Vitruvian scrolls and Prince of Wales feathers.  Inside there is upholstered seating, carpet and a painted ceiling, this section is topped with a crown. The barge was intended to be rowed by 21 oarsmen and a Barge-Master.

The first outing of the barge was a trip with Prince Frederick, his mother Queen Caroline and his five sisters, from Chelsea Hospital to Old Somerset House to see paintings from the Royal Collection being restored. On this outing they were accompanied by a second barge of officers and ladies and a third barge of musicians. Frederick went on to use the barge for numerous pleasure trips, including one notable trip in 1749 where the entire barge was decorated in the chinoiserie style and the bargemen were dressed in oriental uniforms. The barge continued to be used in state processions until 1849. The last outing of the barge was to take Prince Albert and his daughter the Princess Royal to the opening of the Coal Exchange. After this it was placed in the Royal Barge House in Windsor and has been loaned to various museums in the years since.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge honored both royal tradition and some of the most loved people in their lives by naming their baby daughter Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.

Meaning “petite”, it is, in French, the feminine form of Charles, a fitting tribute to the Prince of Wales, who made no secret of his desire for a granddaughter. The name’s royal pedigree includes Queen Charlotte, the wife of George III, who bore him 15 children and helped found Kew Gardens. Queen Charlotte’s Chelsea Hospital, which is named after her, is part of the same NHS Trust as St Mary’s Hospital Paddington, where Princess Charlotte was born on Saturday in the private Lindo Wing. Her granddaughter Princess Charlotte of Wales, who married on May 2, the day the new Princess Charlotte was born, died in childbirth in 1817 at the age of just 21. She was the only child of George, Prince of Wales, who would go on to become King George IV. Charlotte also happens to be the middle name of the Duchess’s sister, Pippa Middleton, and goes back in her family to her paternal great-great-great-grandmother Charlotte Ablett, born in 1825 and therefore possibly named for Princess Charlotte.

The choice of Elizabeth is an expected tribute to the Queen in the year she will become Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, as well as being the name of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, who was close to Prince William before her death in 2002. But it also has strong connections to the Middleton family: it is the middle name of both the Duchess of Cambridge and her mother Carole, having been passed down from Carole Middleton’s grandmother, Elizabeth Temple. The name Elizabeth means “oath of God”.

But it is the choice of Diana as one of the Princess’s middle names that is most personal to either of the parents. The death of Diana, Princess of Wales in 1997 meant the Duke’s closest female blood relatives were the Princess Royal and the Queen, and he has longed for a daughter throughout his adult life. The Duke’s mother was the first and only British Princess Diana, and there are no known Dianas in the Duchess’s family. The name derives from the Latin Diviana or Divus, meaning Divine. In Roman mythology Diana was the virgin goddess of the moon, hunting and chastity. (x)

Chapter Thirty-One

A/N: Yay! Finally an update! I’m sorry for the wait, and there’s a bit of an abrupt time jump, but I really hope you enjoy this one… xx

The next two weeks were plagued not only with engagements but with preparations for the wedding. After recovering from their hangovers, they fell back into their normal routine, with Harry undertaking engagements every day of that week. On Monday night, he attended a concert for Wellchild, at which Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett performed. Lady Gaga asked him about whether he and Emmy had had ‘bachelor and bachelorette parties’, which led Harry to say, “We did, the second best thing about getting married, after the marriage, of course”.

The next day Harry was at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, and the day after that he and Emmy launched 100 Days until the Rugby World Cup, before, that evening, Harry and all his cousins took Philip and Elizabeth out for drinks to celebrate Philip’s birthday. The following day, Harry and Emmy were at the National Memorial Arboretum, to inaugurate the new Bastion Memorial. On the Friday, Emmy found herself with Harry, William, Edward, William’s private secretary Miguel and a cameraman in the gardens of Kensington Palace; the princes were recording a video message to congratulate the Queen’s Young Leaders, and Emmy wasted no time in distracting Harry and making him giggle, disrupting the filming and eventually being forced to go back inside by Edward, so that they could finish the message.

The next day was Trooping the Colour, and Harry and Emmy headed to Buckingham Palace for the celebrations for the Queen’s birthday.

Chelsea Manning 'rushed to hospital after trying to take own life'
Chelsea Manning, the military whistleblower serving a 35 year sentence, was rushed to hospital after reportedly trying to take her own life.

A US media report said that Manning, who us being held at in a cell at the US Military Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, was taken to hospital early on Tuesday morning. CNN said that it was believed that the 28-year-old had tried to kill herself.

There was no immediate independent confirmation of this. A spokesman for the US Army told The Independent he was waiting for an approved statement before being able to comment. The Washington Post reported that the military said Manning had since been returned to her cell but provided no other details.

Manning’s lawyer, Nancy Hollander, said in a statement that she was “shocked and outraged” that an official at Fort Leavenworth provided “confidential medical information” about Manning to the media but had not shared anything with her team. She said she had been due to speak with her client at 2pm on Monday but was told she could not be connected.

“Despite the fact that they have reached out to the media, and that any other prison will connect an emergency call, the army has told her lawyers that the earliest time that they will accommodate a call between her lawyers and Chelsea is Friday morning,” she said.

“We call on the army to immediately connect Chelsea Manning to her lawyers and friends who care deeply about her well-being and are profoundly distressed by the complete lack of official communication about Chelsea’s current situation.”
