Bastong is a South Korean up-and-comer in outerwear. I was lucky enough to try one of these jackets on when the designer showed up at work. He was incredibly humble, and his work warrants serious attention. Based on a classic M-65 Style these jackets feature some unique and tasteful detailing such as leather pull tabs on the lower flap pockets and a printed liner portraying a medieval jouster and a Korean warrior, as well as the increasingly popular wink of camouflage. The jackets may be a tad pricey for the Maine market but I’m happy to see that C.H.C.M. can uphold their reputation for finding future powerhouses and bringing them to light.
