Here is the first production still from the Robert Zemeckis film “The Walk”. This amazing movie takes place in 1974 and follows the story of Philippe Petit, the man who walked on a wire between the Twin Towers in NYC (exactly forty years ago today). If you have never seen the documentary Man on Wire, the story is amazing. The doc plays like a beautiful fairy tale and will just get you more excited for our film next year.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays the high wire walker Philippe Petit and in the photo above you can see the rest of the team that helps him on his coup to walk the towers. I play a man named Albert (on the far right) who Philippe recruits in NYC. The movie is a love letter to NYC, the beautiful twin towers and to one man following his dreams, no matter how crazy they seemed. In the middle of all that beauty, you have a ragtag group of people working together to achieve the impossible. Tom Rothman describes the movie as “Gravity meets Oceans’ Eleven. You’ve got an underdog team planning what’s actually an endearing crime.” This is gonna be a special film and I can’t wait for everyone to see it!
This is the end of that crazy shooting with that genius cast crew, my friends, my bros. We’re forever on each other’s team! ❤️🎥🍁🏁😭@sibonyclement @lebonlebon @rejectedjokes @hitrecordjoe #thewalkmovie [x]
