Trivia:

  • There have been several proposed follow-ups/reboots including a semi-sequel by David Cronenberg, but all of the potential projects have been dropped.

They didn’t want an older romance thing.

Charles Edward Pogue, screenwriter of Psycho III, on his original concept of having Janet Leigh return as Norman’s psychiatrist, the studio shutting it the fuck down, and the financial failure that immediately followed because they were too focused on twist endings and tits, seeing as the only thing drastically different about the final script was the love interest being like, twenty-odd years younger than him, and that final half a minute which completely reverses all the character development ever.

This is like that time Miley Cyrus told Matt Lauer it wasn’t possible for him to be sexual because he was over 40, like what the hell is this mess. I hope formal apologies typed up and sent out, because there is no fucking excuse for saying Janet Leigh “is not right for the film.”
