Can we all just agree on one thing? Eyal is awesome.
When I say that, it’s not just because he’s a spy, or he’s handsome, or because he’s an interesting character…. or even that he’s a love rival for Annie…
What I mean is that Eyal is one of the most decent male characters portrayed on Television at the moment. He doesn’t wrap himself up in sexual conquests or underlining motives (outside of what he can’t control with his agency, and even then he tries to keep Annie out of it). He really wants very little in return for his loyalty and his love except for Annie to be well and safe… and happy. He crosses oceans and breaks rules to keep her safe and always be that one person who can be there for Annie. And while his agency gave him permission to go the extra mile and sleep with Annie, Eyal instead finds her and gives her a place to be without him so she can find herself again. He cares more about Annie than he does for himself, but he maintains a self respect and a loyalty to his country that’s incredible.
Eyal is a character that we just can’t get enough of.
Eyal: Timing is everything, Neshema, but one day you and I will be sitting somewhere, looking at a sunset, thinking of nothing at all. Maybe not this boat in Greece, but one day, and that will be a lovely evening.
Annie: I hope so…Goodbye, Eyal.
Eyal: I’m not good with goodbyes, and I never get to say it. Thank you, Annie. Good luck.
Here’s to hoping this smooth son of a gun makes a reappearance in Season 5… for more than three minutes.
Jeez, I’m so sorry this took so long! I don’t know why this one was so hard to do. Maybe because its been ages since I rewatched the show or that when you do one of these ship things about spies from different agencies, answering question about their domestic life requires a bit more thought and explanation.
Drinks all of the coffee: Annie is usually the one who drinks all the coffee.
up adopting a pet: Neither of them. Considering how often they’re out
of the country, it would be pretty tough to keep one.
Kills the bugs: Eyal usually does, but Annie doesn’t mind doing it either.
Cooks the meals: Eyal does the cooking, with organic ingredients of course. They always eat in together as opposed to going out.
Starts getting into holidays way before they should: Depends on the holiday since they celebrate different sets of holidays.
the couple selfies: Annie does. But they use digital cameras to take
them, because considering how often they have to ditch their phones and
the number of times Eyal has wound up tossing Annie’s cellphone out the
window on various missions, they’d lose most of them if they didn’t.
the birthdays and anniversaries: I’d say neither of them do. The bigger
problem is trying to find time to celebrate them. If they can’t be
together for whatever reason though, they always manage to leave
something at the other’s place for them to find as a gift.
ends up with too much junk food after grocery shopping: That would be
Annie. Eyal blames it on the fact that she’s American. But she’s started eating more healthy since heart condition.
Nicknames the other: They both call each other Neshama of course.
