I really dig Luke’s bike. I let him build it after hours at #WestCoastChoppers with 2 Rules. He couldn’t buy anything and he can’t sell it. All parts were pulled from our left over take off misfit stuff. 80" Evo Motor with Hannon heads had cracked cases that @dcchoppers fixed. @60andpregnant made the exhaust and traded him the trans. I made the gas tank and @martinbrosbikes did the paint and electrical. Luke did the rest with some ingenuity and elbow grease. The frame is extra special. It is parts from all three CFL frames welded it one little badass Frisco style frame. Now he just rides the piss out of it every day. It leaks a little and the front wheel has some run out. But it’s all his #CFL #madeintexas (at West Coast Choppers Official)

After being cut by the Cowboys and the Rams, Michael Sam has signed a two-year deal with the Montreal Alouettes.

General manager Jim Popp believes Sam, who is the first openly gay player to have been drafted by an NFL team, will be accepted and embraced by his teammates. “Michael Sam is a very good football player, and that’s the reason we signed him. He’s an outstanding pass-rusher,” Popp said.

“With the signing of Michael Sam, we have become a better organization today. Not only have we added an outstanding football player, we have added even a better person that brings dignity, character, and heart to our team.”

The Grey Cup arrived in Calgary in one piece. It was the Stampeders who looked worse for wear.

Quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell’s eyes were half-open and the voice of head coach and general manager John Hufnagel cracked as players and coaches rolled off a pair of buses at McMahon Stadium on Monday just past noon.

The Stampeders had claimed the 102nd Grey Cup less than 24 hours earlier in Vancouver, where Calgary defeated the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 20-16 at B.C. Place.

For those who may have forgotten, Sam came out about his sexuality before being drafted, essentially risking his professional career.  As they did with Jackie Robinson, every now and then my city steps up and does something amazing.

“Instead, he will follow in the footsteps of another trailblazer - Warren Moon - who spent five years in the CFL before any NFL teams would take a “chance” on a black quarterback. Moon is now in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.”

Sums up so much of what’s wrong with the NFL in just a few sentences.
