Hector Guimard (French, 1867-1942)

Maison Coilliot, Lille, France, 1898-1900

Guimard designed this building as a “live/work” space and ceramic studio. The fireplace and exterior decoration are a combination of enameled  lava and ceramics.

The Great Hall At Wightwick (1).

Within the great hall is an equally impressive and cavernous carved oak Inglenook fireplace - to the right of which is a mouthwatering display of William De Morgan lustre glazed ceramics - a tiny fraction of the treasures on view in this amazing house.
