cellphone displays

Dual-function nanorod LEDs could make multifunctional displays

Cellphones and other devices could soon be controlled with touchless gestures and charge themselves using ambient light, thanks to new LED arrays that can both emit and detect light.

Made of tiny nanorods arrayed in a thin film, the LEDs could enable new interactive functions and multitasking devices. Researchers at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Dow Electronic Materials in Marlborough, Massachusetts, report the advance in the Feb. 10 issue of the journal Science.

“These LEDs are the beginning of enabling displays to do something completely different, moving well beyond just displaying information to be much more interactive devices,” said Moonsub Shim, a professor of materials science and engineering at the U. of I. and the leader of the study. “That can become the basis for new and interesting designs for a lot of electronics.”

Genos’ cellphone is a docomo PRIME series SH-01B in Black from Sharp. Originally debuted in November 2009.

Easily identifiable for Sharp’s classic flip phone keyboard layout and the embellished corner on the shell, the manga version made it even more distinct by leaving the docomo logo in.

Special MayuKuro

Forgive my mistakes, grammar and so on (;´Д`)

Valentine’s Day.

Kuroko planned everything. He skips schools - without saying a word to his teammates - and take the train for Kyoto early in the morning. He manages to find Rakuzan, sneaks into the school - anyway no one is paying attention to him - and looks everywhere. He doesn’t find him and dejected, goes to the rooftop.
Mayuzumi is here almost sleeping, a light novel in his hands. Kuroko doesn’t know what to do. He walks slowly towards him. Mayuzumi mutters something and lifts his head. Kuroko freezes, his bag of chocolates pressed against his chest.
“ - … For Mayuzumi-san.”
He presents him the chocolates.
He looks at him with a kind of puppy eyes. Mayuzumi stands up, walks but doesn’t take the bag, like ‘I’m too cool for that’ but inside he’s almost panicked 'how did he get there ? When ? Just for me ?’.
Suddenly Akashi appears and notices the chocolates.
“ - Oh, you have chocolates, Tetsuya.”
And Mayuzumi grabs the bag before leaving without a word. Because there’s no way someone else could taste HIS present.

Practice is over and the team heads to the locker room. Lost in his thoughts, Mayuzumi barely listens to his teammates. They are noisy as usual, except for their captain. Entering the last, he quietly closes the door.
“ - Is something wrong ? ”

CHINA, HONG KONG : Protestors and student demonstrators hold up their cellphones in a display of solidarity during a protest outside the headquarters of Legislative Council in Hong Kong on September 29, 2014. Hong Kong has been plunged into the worst political crisis since its 1997 handover as pro-democracy activists take over the streets following China’s refusal to grant citizens full universal suffrage. i mainly had headcanons for murasakibara but i had came up with others, Mind if i share them with you? I see hanamiya getting his eyebrows from his mother and him being a real big time mamas boy. Also the one who would secretly help the elderly in his free time.

The air is solemn, and the draft within the court is strangely cold. The lights have been turned off aside from one spotlight trained on a lone chair sitting in the middle. It is occupied by a dark-haired boy of about sixteen years of age, and his thick eyebrows are furrowed while he tries to maintain a neutral expression. Despite this, his trademark shit-eating grin looks quite shaky.

Another boy steps into the spotlight, the light catching his violet hair and bleaching it a pearly white. His bangs fall forward to hide his face, and his lips are hidden behind a humongous bubble of gum; it pops, and he begins to chew again as he slams a ruler against his palm.

“Well, what do you have to say for yourself, Hanamiya?” Another boy steps into the light, the strand of hair on his forehead falling forward to flick against the mole in the middle as he does so. His sleeping mask is hanging loosely from around his neck.

The boy sitting in the chair, the one called Hanamiya, scoffs pridefully. “Heh, it’s funny how you guys think I have to explain myself to you.”

“You broke the rules, Hana–”

“I broke no rules!”

“How do you explain this, then?” The boy with the bubblegum smirks in self-satisfaction as he flips out his cellphone; on the display, there is a photo of Hanamiya discreetly trying to aid a senior citizen in crossing the road.

“Modern photo manipulation.” He snorts, but he still looks pale. “Such pictures are unreliable.”

“We know what we saw, Hanamiya.”

lmao i’ve been laughing too hard at your headcanon it’s so cute
