Welcome to Kim’s bookshelf! We have non-fiction organized by Dewey Decimal (#librarian4lyfe), followed by fiction organized alphabetically by author, with YA and adult separated.

Book she’s read the most times: A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray

I read this at least once a year and sometimes more than once.

Book she’s had recommended the most but never read: The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova

This book has been in my TBR pile since 2009. I even bought it and I still haven’t read it.

Book whose protagonist she most aspires to be: The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E. Lockhart

Sure, Frankie makes a few bad choices, but you’ve got to admire her chutzpah.  I would love to be as bold (and as clever!) as she is.

Book she bought just for the cover: Herbarium by Caz Hildebrand

The cover and the illustrations in this are beautiful.  An honorable mention goes to The Essex Serpent, though.  It’s an ARC not a purchase, but how gorgeous is that cover?

Weirdest Book she loves: Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood by Rebecca Wells

This one probably isn’t that weird for a 30 something lady to love, but it was a bit weird to love it so passionately as a 15 year old.  I couldn’t convince a single friend to read it!  I even made several go see the movie with me and they still weren’t interested (Though who can blame them.  It wasn’t great.) I still don’t know that any of my current friends have read it, either.
