honestly tho minerva doesn’t often transform in front of ppl so it wouldn’t be surprising him not recognizing her animagus form. and if he did see her in the halls or w/e and pet her she’d just kind of…..let him………bc she doesn’t like to Out Herself and embarrass ppl when they treat her like a regular cat so she just !! endures it
This begs the question of whether or not the other cats can tell that she’s not really One Of Them. Crookshanks is half-Kneazle and the only thing in the castle that was straight up On To Shenanigans where Peter was concerned, so it lends credence to the idea that the other cats are oblivious.
Which brings to mind thoughts on territorialism. Imagine Minerva McGonagall unexpectedly caught up in a literal Cat Fight. Does she out herself or Win that is the question now.
That’s chapter one, which takes place prior to the war and the destruction of the Buran. It is meant to stand alone if you don’t want to go forward into angst and crazy. Chapter two takes place immediately after the Buran, and chapter three is set sometime before “Lethe”.
