the beautiful CatMallory bought me a most excellent hand squeezing staple gun two years ago for my birthday and it has served me well. all the chairs and repairs that i have made have all been with that trusty gun. but today, today i became a full on tradie-lady.
as you may have gathered, my BFF CatMallory is getting married on Saturday to the wonderful Mr Andy and she has asked me to be her Maid of Honour. i am beyond stoked!
i met CM ten years ago, all thanks to The Body Shop. i had not long moved to Melbourne from Adelaide and had been with TBS for about 6 months. that Christmas, CM began working there too, as a Christmas Casual.
we became fast friends and bonded over the fact that as young teenagers, we both LOVED the music TV show, The Factory. i was watching it in Adelaide, desperately wishing i could go to Melbs and see it IRL, and there was CM in Melbs, rocking up to the ABC studios every Saturday and living my dream!
we’ve been through sooooo much together, that to try and honour all those memories through words, would takes weeks. she is my ‘sista from anotha mutha’ and get’s me like no one else. she loves Survivor, Jackass and being a dork, just like me, and when i have really needed her, she has been there in a flash.
our lives have really changed in the last 2 years and our paths have taken very different directions. but even still, when we do catch up for a chat, we managed to get ourselves back to those silly dorks, but when needed, will always have each others backs.
CM, thank you for sticking with me through it all and thank you for asking me to stand by your side on Saturday.
