cast: revenge

My new manager fired me. I fired his store.

This happened about 6 years ago.

I worked at (store that sells donuts that you may or may not dunk) that was in a somewhat far off location from the rest of the city in a relatively new shopping center. I was there when the store opened, and we never really got much traffic, but there was two large car clubs that came out twice a week to meet, and chat, and generally bring our store a lot of traffic. We were told that the clubs pretty much keeps the store afloat.

I worked there for a long while, and my manager was awesome. She did a great job of keeping everything stocked, gave out hours to people who actually worked their ass off instead of playing favorites, and she was never unfair about warnings or suspensions.

One day, she got seriously ill and had to quit. I never knew the details, but it was serious enough for her to quit her job. Then comes Swagger McA**hole, our new manager. Now, Swagger McA**hole had all the charm and wit of a rabid chihuahua. He was a generally angry man, and thought himself to be above everyone else in the store. He popped the collars of his button up shirt like he was going to bring that trend back from the dead. Needless to say, Swagger McA**hole wasn’t well liked.

He fired and replaced people left and right for usually petty or outright wrong reasons, and I was the last one standing, because for some reason, I was always asked to make the regular’s coffee, because I would remember their names, what they wanted, and how they liked it, and I usually had it in the process of being made as soon as I saw them walking up to the door. The car clubs knew me by name.

Enter Hannah Handjob. She started hanging around the store. A lot. Swagger McA**hole and Hannah Handjob would often hang out in the Manager’s office, sometimes with the door closed. Like we didn’t know what the fuck they were doing. A short while later, I find myself fired for some bullshit reason. I think what was written on my exit paperwork (which I refused to sign) was “wasting inventory”, whatever the fuck that meant.

Sorry for the long backstory. Here comes the revenge part. Remember those car clubs I talked about? I found their website and message boards, and told them my story. They told me how incredibly shitty they thought it all was, and always thought Swagger McA**hole was a poor replacement for our old manager. Both the clubs agreed to find a different venue for their morning to late afternoon meetups.

That was the death knell for that location. Three months later, I go back to turn in my uniforms, because I’m sick of looking at them in my closet, and they’re all closed up. I don’t know for sure that I had anything to do with their closing, but I’m at least 80% sure the car clubs were keeping them afloat.

Poor suitemate etiquette may result in arrest.

Warning: drug use

(This will be a long story)

This happened about a year ago, in my senior year of college. I lived in a residential college on campus, which basically is just a dorm with the option of educational programs being held there. My suite in this building was set up as a pair of two-bed rooms, connected by a small bathroom that the four people shared. In our particular suite, there were only three of us, as our suitemate had a private room. A small detail, but it will become important later.

Now this suitemate, who I will call Hannah, could only be described as one of those new-age hippies. Aggressively vegan, tapestries pinned over every open inch of the walls, candles everywhere, lots of imagery taken from India and surrounding countries, the whole works. And she smoked a lot of pot.

Normally, this wouldn’t be any of my business. I don’t care what you do with your free time, as long as you’re being safe and can keep it away from me, as I was job-searching and didn’t want anything in my system. I made that abundantly clear, as my roommate also smoked, and was polite enough to take it off campus and keep her stash in her car.

Hannah…not so much. She had a habit of smoking in the room, and since she lived alone, she had no one to witness her blowing the smoke out the window. Several of us knew she was doing it, but we lived near the top of the building, so it wasn’t going to float up into someone’s window or anything. If she got caught, we could act surprised, and it would be on her head for being reckless.

She wasn’t an ideal suitemate by any means, on top of this. She played her music loud, and wrecked the bathroom on a weekly basis, and I had woken up to her having loud shower sex in that shared bathroom multiple times. I scrubbed down the bathroom every time because I didn’t want to stand in whatever they left behind, but by the time the real incident occurred, my patience was wearing thin.

The final straw came when a weird smell started pouring in under the bathroom door. I pulled my roommate in with me, and she agreed that it was pot, and a lot of it. I went out of the room, and sure enough, the hall was also filling with a thick cloud of skunk and armpit. I knew my RA was doing a program that involved the police, so I went downstairs to find the RA, told her what was going on, and led her and the police officer she took with her up to my room. I let the officer into my bathroom, and the smell when I opened the door hit everyone like a slap to the face.

As it turns out, she was holding a little party, so not only did she get arrested, but so did 4 of her buddies. She was taken to court, put on probation for 2 years, and given community service. The police officer also told me that if she did or said anything to get back at me, she would go to jail.

She later violated her parole with another charge of the same thing, and that was the last time I saw her.

Skid on my lawn and harass my family? Hope your job security is good.

Bit of background: (long story, tl;dr at the end)

I have known the people that committed these actions for quite a while. Some of them were good friends, some I had no beef with at all. Then they went rogue for no apparent reason.

Anyway, this happened a month ago and it progressed ever since. My family and I live in a rather quiet neighbour hood and like to mind our business. There are a few selfish individuals who live in my town who enjoy to harass people, do drugs and generally get up to no good. The main ringleader is a person I went to school with, he left a few years ago to go to a military school for whatever reason I wouldn’t know. Let’s call him degenerate.
