jessicamarcia requested: Jungkook + Idol/Fan AU
Pairing: Jungkook | Reader
Genre: Fluff
Word Count: 17,378
Author’s Note: Tbh I had some apprehension about this request because an idea I stumbled upon that just kept coming back to me was directly from this fantasy I kept about having about what would happen if I ever meet Jungkook and how and this just feels very personal to me as a result. Regardless, I decided to share because I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t decide to contribute my pain to the fandom.

ALSO, sentences in italics are being spoken in Korean.

Summary: You never understood the gravity of your position as an intern working Kcon until you fall for one of your favorite idols, Jeon Jungkook—quite literally too.

.

Sometimes you think you have a lot of mixed feelings when it comes to your job.

On one hand, it’s a pretty incredible opportunity, one that you acknowledge not a lot of people get to experience first hand: which is working as an intern in the event operations department for Kcon—the annual Korean convention in which big Kpop groups will travel around the world to bring their music and their joy to the international fanbase. For someone who never actually had the means and the ability to make the trip as an audience member of your own accord, it’s fascinating to witness the back-the-scenes sight of how much effort and how much time goes into planning and organizing an event of this scale.

And because Kcon it in of itself is half a convention and half a concert, there were always many people needed to cover the different subsections of the event, which is where your role as an intern came into play. Given that there were two interns in the department of organizing the physicality of the event, you were put on the team mainly in charge of organizing the convention while the other intern assisted with scheduling of the talents and making sure the performances would go by smoothly.

But on the other end of that spectrum, working with vendors really allows you to see how many people handle responsibility and deadlines and it makes you want to pull the hair out of your roots. You like to think of yourself as a fairly reasonable person, giving a vendor 24 hours to respond to emails at the latest before having to resort to more emails and phone call—but this is absolutely ridiculous.

I partially raw feed my cats, though as Monty is a bit fussy I can’t go all in with it and have to stick with mixed feeding. The other day I recorded Rolo munching away on a chicken thigh because he was being a particularly noisy little bugger, so I thought hey stick it up here in case people are interested. The first time I heard him eating a chicken leg I was quite freaked out that he was potentially breaking his teeth, but this is what nature designed cat jaws for - crunching up bone. He’s quite an efficient little panther, while Monty is a lazy git and insists I should cut meat up for him!

Honestly…It makes me really uncomfortable when people draw Leia’s Episode 4 Dress as being really tight with a big slit up the leg, because that’s not how it was at all??

It doesn’t even cling to her breasts or anything?? There’s like…a Small knee length slit, I guess, if you look hard enough. But this, and most other outfits of Leia’s, strike me as incredibly modest and professional. In fact, Lets take a look at that for a second.

Look at what she chooses to wear on Cloud City in Episode 5.

Like…It’s a dress with pants? And I think this was probably an outfit she either A.) Packed for the trip on the falcon or B.) Was provided to her by Lando, And I find it hard to believe that Lando would force an outfit on her, considering he was very nice to her in previous scenes. She would have chosen it out of several different options.

I won’t add pictures, but her White Hoth outfit also consists of a jacket and pants. It’s sensible. They’re in the freezing cold. Why would she wear something sexy. She Wouldn’t.

There are honestly only two instances over the course of three movies where she /kind/ of shows skin. Instance 1 is at the end of Episode 1 where she…Kind of, I guess, Has some cleavage showing?

Like Barely. Keep in mind as well that this dress is floor length and has long sleeves. The second instance is at the end of Episode 6 on Endor

This slit is definitely more revealing, but to be honest, I can’t remember a single time in Episode 6 where it was apparent? They Honestly may have just done this for promotional material? Other pictures of the dress come off as much more modest

I’ve worn dresses shorter than this, so, I wouldn’t exactly consider this revealing by any means.

So when does Leia put on something a little sexier? There’s gotta be one instance right?

Yeah, Against her fucking will.

What I’m getting at here is that I hate the weird sexualization of Leia in Nerd Culture. It’s literally so rampant. It’s not surprising to me whatsoever, but it still makes me mad.

Leia Organa, a 19 year old Freedom Fighter personally fucking chose to dress modestly and people still depict her as this oversexualized Male Gaze Fantasy Being and it’s really disappointing tbfh.

honestly fuck you guys who are asking “what will Star Wars do without Carrie now?” That’s so fuckIng ignorant. What will her mother do? Her daughter? Her close friends? Her family? Star Wars will continue on, as it always does. We’re not mourning the loss of a role, we’re mourning the loss of an actual person. There is more to the world than Star Wars and to act like Carrie’s passing is only tragic because “what happens to Leia now?” is incredibly selfish and rude. A wonderfully talented, sympathetic, kickass, multifaceted woman has died and you should focus on her rather than her role. Her role is fictional. She was not.

Living with ADHD is sometimes gives me pleasant surprises like “oh look I already got a spoon for my coffee apparently”.

au where jackson’s your hairstylist (feat. jinbam controlling him)

Okay, I'm fairly new to the fandom so this has probably been done already but

I keep picturing Simon setting up a whole ‘romantic dinner’ thing for Baz (with Penny’s help obvs) but instead of just leaving it be as like a cute little date Simon insists on making garlic bread and setting the table with silver cutlery and all of this other shit that’s supposed to repel vampires, because 'it’s for science’ (and Penny kinda feels like she should argue, but she’s just a curious as he is, and she low-key finds it funny that Simon’s still the same old Simon) and Baz walks in and he just falls around laughing and idk I just,,

How long have we known each other?”

It’s been 12 years. When I was getting bullied by the neighborhood kids because my brother was so good looking, you still played with me.”

And when I got bullied as a half even without a mom, you played with me too.”

whats your favorite lapidot moment?

…Aw man, just one?!

Ok, I actually do know what my number 1 is, but there are some “honourary mentions” as well that it seems wrong not to mention.  So, I’m gonna cheat slightly and do a top 5 ;p  (I mean, I could even have done a top 10 with how much material there is to choose from lol)

The arm grab in Back To The Moon.

Protective Peridot is just so precious.  I love the fact that she was so defensive/protective of Lapis in this scene - putting Lapis’ comfort above all else.

Peridot’s outrageous flirting and gift-giving in Barn Mates.

She wasn’t even subtle, was she?!

Seeing her very clear attraction to Lapis here let me dare to believe that my beloved OTP just might make it in canon…

The entire first half of Beta.

Just seeing them getting along so perfectly with one another, and being so domestic and happy and supportive and cute…  I spent the first half of this episode basically hugging myself with joy lol

The dinner table scene in Gem Harvest.

Everything about this was just beautiful.   The little looks that they gave one another, the fact that the table was blatantly split down the middle (clearly showing the original Crystal Gems as a separate “family” unit to Lapis, Peridot and Pumpkin), the high five that Peridot didn’t even need to look at Lapis to know that she’d get, the shared sense of humour, the mirroring of their facial expressions…

Utter perfection.

And finally, my #1 Lapidot moment…

That scene in Barn Mates.

After months and months of having Lapidot as my OTP based solely on a very strong gut instinct of it one day becoming canon, here it was: actual, 100% solid-gold confirmation of the ship, on-screen.

I may or may not have actually cried at this point, as well as rewatching the scene several times whilst flailing at the screen and proclaiming “see?!  I freaking KNEW it!!” ;p

It’s an incredible scene… the look Peridot gives Lapis is so typical of someone looking at their crush, the sun comes out as Peridot’s giving Lapis the biggest smile that she’s ever given to anyone – and then Lapis deeply blushes and has to look away.

If that’s not setting up a potential romance, then I don’t know what is.

Good times~

You're Free

That moment you realize that Mor keeps singing “you’re free” as she carries Feyre, not because she knows this is what Feyre needs, but because she was once carried. She remembers how soothing those simple words were when Azriel carried her broken body.

Azriel calmly repeats “you’re free” to the broken sunlight he carries, not because he knows what to say in moments like these, but he remembers the calm he felt as Rhys’s mom sung those words to him over and over again when his shadows frightened him.

Rhys’s mom sings “you’re free” to a broken Illyrian boy, not because she knows what to say to a child that has lived through such horrors, but she remembers the calm she felt as her husband purred those words to her over and over again when she woke frantic, reaching for her wings.

They’d been friends for years, had known each other throughout middle school and into high school, meeting in a music class on a sticky September morning. They hit it off instantly, falling into one another immediately, never looking back. Their friendship was comfortable, genuine, safe, always there, achingly present and solid. Harry never felt uneasy confiding in Louis, their one year age gap making Louis somehow seem more worldly, more experienced, and even when Harry had to look down at Louis, he still looked up to him. They spent the quickly passing school years making each other’s homes their own, Harry’s mom calling Louis her honorary second son, Louis’ mom giving Harry a similar title, and everyone knew that if you wanted to find Harry, you had to find Louis first.

Mystic Messenger Fanfic: Kingdom of Words

Pairing: Saeran/MC

Rating: G

Other places to read: AO3

This fic is a gift to @an-ambivalent! I’m one of your @mystic-messenger-secret-santa (the mysterious anon hihi) :3 Sorry this is so late, dear! I tried to include as many of your preferences as I could, so I hope you enjoy this not so small fic I wrote for you ♥

The first time the words appeared on Saeran’s arm, he panicked. His only warning had been a warm, itchy sensation that’d made him look down, only to find a black scribble on his skin.

Can you see this?

He screamed. He couldn’t help it - as much as he rubbed, the words wouldn’t come off, nor did his hand get dirty with ink. Saeyoung rushed to his side, eyes wide, but once Saeran explained what was wrong, he hesitated, his gaze fixed at the point where Saeran could see the dark words in stark contrast against his reddened skin.

“I can’t see anything, Saeran.”

Before Saeran could process what Saeyoung had said, their mother came. He should’ve excpected it, should’ve known better than to make so much noise. His ears hurt with her screams, louder than his own; still, he tried reaching her - arm extended, he tried telling her about the words, tried asking her what they meant.

His only answer were two days without food, getting by with only the scraps Saeyoung managed to sneak him behind their mother’s back.

(This is likely to get me into even more trouble, but whatever - the new Buckleming episode airs this week, so I’m guessing we’ll have worse problems by Friday.)

So, my dash seems to be split between pro-Mary and anti-Mary people, and the debate is getting pretty intense and occasionally awful. And I just wanted to say that yes, it’s probably true we hold women (and especially mothers) to different standards of behaviour, and I’m sure there are some overt or subconscious sexist components in our dislike, or even outrage, in some cases, of her actions this past week, but also - to me, the problem is that Mary started out in a good place and is now going downwards, if that makes sense. Like, Crowley - Crowley is fascinating in and of himself, but one big reason I feel so sympathetic towards him right now is because he started out as a selfish, even cruel villain and he’s experiencing an upward arc towards understanding and helping other people. And this is a popular trope and all, but it’s popular for a reason: because it gives us a sense of satisfaction to see someone become a better person.

(Also because two thirds of Western culture are basically Christianity, which is the poster boy of the Redemption Arc, so we’re probably pre-programmed to like this from birth, but whatever. It still makes for a good story)

Now, Mary - Mary started in the best possible place, that of the Innocent Murder Victim who, on top of everything else, was a Mother and Beautiful and Trying to Save Her Baby Boy - Jesus, there’s not much that will give you more points than all that. So it’s not surprising, really, that her arc must be downward, because how the hell would have she been able to go higher that actual martyrdom? So her having trouble connecting with her kids, her being secretive and skulking about and making deals with unsavoury characters - of course it’s nothing different or worse from what every single person on Supernatural has done for the past twelve seasons - the problem is not in the actions themselves, but in where they are in her character’s arc. That’s why, I think, we perceive her behaviour as less forgivable - not (only) sexism.
