carol and doug

My OTP..

I love them. Everything about their relationship. The ups and the downs and everything in-between. I love the looks he gives when she isn’t looking. The look that says “I love you”. The way he smiles at her and she at him. The looks of longing from both of them from across the ER. In season one, at Carol’s almost wedding to Tag, the look on his face as he watches her dancing, being happy and carefree after Tag left, walking out on their wedding one can’t help but see the deep love he still has for her.

In the first episode of season one, Carol tries to kill herself. She was meant to die but when the show was picked up, they decided to keep her on the cast. But she tried to kill herself because of Doug. Yes, in a few episodes she states its not because of him. But you know, you just know its because of him.

I loved watching them growing from season to season. When i first saw the episode where Doug leaves and Carol is crying and saying she doesn’t want to wake up alone in the morning, I cried with her.

I love how he always remembers her birthday and the animal crackers.

How they sealed the deal on the first date, not the third.

How he is her soulmate.

How she’s loved him since she was 23.

How he is the father of her children.

How they complete each other.

How George came back for Carol’s last episode because he knew that Carol and Doug needed to be together and have a great ending.

How they both REFUSED to came back in the final season WITHOUT EACH OTHER.

How in the final season they both came back as Carol and Doug, giving their fans of 15 years a final goodbye.

How Carol and Doug are the first and only true love story in the ER.

Douglas Clark and Carol M. Bundy were dubbed the The Sunset Strip Killers by the media after they committed of a series of murders in Los Angeles during the late spring and early summer of 1980. They targeted young prostitutes and runaways. Initially, Bundy (no relation to Ted) went to police claiming that her lover, Clark, had just told her that he had shot dead several women. She denied having anything to do with the murders, although she was responsible for the death of her other lover, Jack Murray. She shot him, stabbed him, and then beheaded him for good measure. After this confession, she eventually admitted that she had been present during one of the Sunset Strip murders. According to her she hired a prostitute for Clark as a birthday present when he suddenly shot her in the head while she was performing fellatio. However, Clark insisted that Bundy was the shooter and a long trial followed the pair.

There is a lot of evidence to suggest that Carol and her lover Jack had committed the murders, and Clark had nothing to do with it. This included a piece of bloody scalp being found in a van belonging to Murray. That evidence was mentioned but not introduced at Clark’s trial. Bundy plea bargained and, in return for her testimony, received a life sentence.

“ There’s two kinds of doctors. Those who get rid of their feelings and those who keep them. If you’re gonna keep your feelings, you’ll get sick sometimes.
That’s just how it works. Keep your head down. People come in here and they’re sick, dying and bleeding and they need our help. Helping them is more important than how we feel. But it’s still a pain in the ass sometimes. “
