caravan road

What do you think Jesus was doing as a teenager? Do you think Jesus and the Buddha lived a normal life after enlightened?

We know what the Buddha did. He taught for sixty years and died in his 80s.

As for Jesus one theory is that he went to Egypt to escape Herod. There he signed on with a caravan on the silk road taking gold and aromatic resins to Kashmir to trade for Indian tin and copper for making bronze. There he was introduced to Buddhism and its message of compassion and universal brotherhood.

Sound farfetched? The Kashmiris don’t think so. There is an ancient legend of a teacher from the West named Issa and that this teacher returned as an old man and died there and his tomb is there still.

The ancient tomb of Issa is located within this more modern building.
