Cara Delevingne, the British model who conquered the industry by 23, made headlines this week by quitting modeling, declaring in an interview with London’s Sunday Times magazine that the industry not only made her feel “hollow,” but also hurt her self-esteem. If the studies are true, she’s not alone.

Cara Delevingne Quit Fashion for a Blunt Reason

“I am not doing fashion work any more, after having, like, psoriasis and all that stuff,” the “Paper Towns” actress said in a recent interview with London’s Sunday Times magazine. “Modeling just made me feel a bit hollow after a while. It didn’t make me grow at all as a human being. And I kind of forgot how young I was … I felt so old.”
