Paley Guy (Keith Uhlrich): So let’s talk about the pilot and some of your memories of it. I had seen Gillian talk about the scene in the rain, in the graveyard.
David Duchovny: Oh, yeah.
Paley Guy: I think you said it one time: “I’ve had the highest voice of television” or something.
*imitating high-pitched sound*
David Duchovny: Heey! Come on!
Gillian Anderson: No, it’s true.
Paley Guy: No, no, no. Quoting. Quoting. Direct quoting.
David: We were talking about that earlier, how both of our voices were higher in the beginning of the show and it’s not because we went through puberty. It’s because we relaxed. I’ve seen early shows and my voice is definitely pitched a little.
Paley Guy: So what do you remember? Like any specific thing from the Pilot?
David: Well that scene in the rain. Oh, God. That was awful.
Gillian: That was awful. It was like 4 o’clock in the morning, it was forced rain, too, wasn’t it? It was just take, after take, after take.
David: And you don’t like the rain, do you?
Gillian: It was freezing. It was really cold.
David: And it was hard.
Gillian: And our lips. We couldn’t talk because our lips were frozen. Literally frozen. And we were laughing.
David: We didn’t know what we were doing. We didn’t know what we were saying.
