The Freischarenmanöver is an over 150 year old tradition celebrated every two years in Lenzburg. A couple years before the founding of the Swiss canton Aargau, a cadet corps was founded in Lenzburg, and about 50 years later they got attacked by ‘Freischaren’ a German irregular voluntary corps, and since then, every two years the Freischarenmanöver was celebrated (with a short break due to the First World War)
