Hi! I started naruto manga recently and I just love the sasunaru dynamics, but Im trying to not be biased here and like.. u cant deny that hinata actually was there from the beginning and naruto cared for her, esp in chapters 80-ish. it could be a start for naruto's feelings and maybe Kishimoto did have this in mind from the beggining and naruhina ending actually can make sence?? what are logical arguments against naruhina, i mean if Kishimoto wanted sasunaru, he couldve just made yaoi??
On the contrary anon, i can most definitely deny that Hinata was there from the beginning. You’re saying you just started the manga, so then surely you’ve read the part where Iruka becomes the first person to acknowledge Naruto?? Sure, lately (read: since the last) Kishitmoto have been trying to retcon everything and make us believe she’s always been there for him, but if you’d actually read the beginning of the manga (as you recently did apparently) you’d know that that’s bullshit cause Iruka was the first to ever properly acknowledge him.
I won’t deny that Naruto cared for her around chapter 80-ish though, but then again, who did this little idiot NOT care for?? We all know Naruto’s always had a massive weak spot for outcasts (like Hinata) and besides that, this boy is so god damn forgiving you could (actual spoiler alert i’m not even making this up) be directly responsible for the deaths of his parents and he’d still want to save your ass and be your friend. Naruto cares for everyone, that’s just what he does. That doesn’t mean much.
But sure, this could have been the start of Naruto’s feelings for her, if only Kishitmoto had actually really gone with that, which he did not. Naruto and Hinata could have perfect, sensible development from here on out, where they spent some actual tme together to get to know each other and get closer, but they didn’t. This would indeed have been a great moment for some serious development between the two, but the problem is that that just never actually happened, and in a series as long as this one (c’mon let’s be real, they had 12 entire years to show us development between Naruto and Hinata so why the hell didn’t they???) you gotta actually SHOW the development taking place. You can’t just tell us it happened “behind the scenes” afterwards and expect us to be okay with that, shit don’t work that way.
The NaruHina could have made sense if there’d been some actual development leading up to it, but there wasn’t.
And one last thing. SasuNaru has absolutely NOTHING to do with yaoi. Sasuke and Naruto are two people (canonically soulmates. keep reading, you’ll get to that part eventually) who share a bond like no other, are eachothers most important people, are eachothers ‘home’, would die for eachother without even thinking about it, and who also happen to be two males. Yaoi is where mlm relationships get fetishized and oversexualised, and I’d like shit like that to stay the fuck away from our boys.
