It was just a feeling …when I met Youssef  a tyre repair man working in labyrinth of the  Souk in Marrakech. Marrakech can be a difficult place for  portrait photography and when asking permission you often get a ‘no’ response but when i asked  Youssef he kindly agreed. I was so lucky as he had the most interesting face and I promised to give him a copy of the shot I had taken. I am returning to Marrakech next month for that very purpose.

My name is Vanita. I am fairly new to photography. I love portraiture and any photography involving people. I use a Canon 5D MK 11 and mostly prime lenses/

My name is Karl Ndieli and I’m a visual artist. I grew up in Northern Nigeria being visually influenced by desert lands and dense jungle. I got my artistic tendecies from my grandfather who was an architect and a hardline artist. 17 years later I’m also studying Architecture in University. I’m currently in Orvieto, Italy; a small cliff town, doing a study abroad program that my college offers. I shoot alot of subjects varying from the extremely conceptual portrait to the dreamy and desolate desert landscape. I use a canon 5d mk iii, but my favorite camera is what ever i have in my hands ( could be an iphone, could be an instant print camera).

Through photography I find it seamless and easy to relieve stress. The whole process from pressing down the shutter to editing them after-hand is extremely theraputic. It has become such a big part of my life. Aquiring my ‘photographers eyes’ is the best thing that could have ever happened to me. Unfortunately, I wasnt a photographer when i lived in Nigeria about 6 years ago. I cant wait to re-visit the nostalgic familiar memory lanes armed with the skills that I’ve picked up pressing the shutter again and again.

It’s incredibly easy to live in the moment. But to be able to capture the mood and atmosphere accurately and preserve a moment in time, is a completely differnet Story.

I live for capturing thee precious moments.

Have a splendid day

It was just a feeling….I was enchanted by the magic of Angkor Wat and had been wondering around taking photos and as I was about to leave the complex I saw this.

It was just a feeling …when I was at a  protest rally in London, I felt the thrill of the rally with all the people cheering and jeering. This man in the crowd was jeering at Ed Milliband and I watched  him and waited and  just felt something was about to happen and it did.
