cannot enter

ov33  asked:

Does lighthouse point have a lighthouse?

Good question! Lighthouse Point Certainly contains a round tower, but is it really a lighthouse?

The definition of a lighthouse is “is a tower, building, or other type of structure designed to emit light from a system of lamps and lenses, and to serve as a navigational aid for maritime pilots at sea or on inland waterways.”

The round structure at Lighthouse Point is certainly geographically positioned near the sea, which would suggest that it is indeed a lighthouse. However, since the player cannot enter the structure, and no point in Konikoni City gives a perspective to see the top of the structure, we cannot confirm that the tower is outfitted with an light-emitting system and therefore the question remains uncertain.

The Olivine Lighthouse in Johto is operated by an electric-type pokémon Ampharos. At Lighthouse Point in Alola, the player encounters a woman training several Pikachu, perhaps preparing them to operate the supposed lighthouse.

Thanks for your question!

"Sometimes the Baby Dies, Sometimes the Mother": The US-Backed Saudi Destruction of Yemen
The health-care system is collapsing after nearly two years of war, and people are dying of easily treatable problems.

Surviving even birth is a struggle in Yemen. After nearly two years of war, thousands of children and adults have died from easily treatable diseases, illnesses and injuries as the health-care system collapses.

The situation is deteriorating quickly. Vital drugs, vaccines and medical equipment often cannot enter the country because of an air, sea and land blockade imposed by the coalition.

Your bedroom, at two in the morning, with no one to listen.

The grocery store, when you’re hungry and 11 dollars in debt.

Senior year of highschool, failing three classes, and your friends are getting accept into college

Your Mom’s house, and she screams at you again for the 5th time that morning.

Your Dad’s apartment, full of empty liquor bottles, floor littered with cigarettes.

The third bedroom on the left on the second floor of the Frat house, the one you dont remember entering but cannot forget leaving.

A Christmas party, where everyone talks at you.

The vet, saying goodbye to your unconditional friend.

College classrooms, doors locked, finals out, heads empty.

Your cubicle, the same sixteen square feet you’ve slaved at for the past six years.

The frontstep, left alone by yourself, after countless hours of love.

A foxhole, in a country that isn’t your home, fighting a war you don’t understand.

A house, in your bombed out hometown, fighting a war you’ve never lived without.

A bathroom stall, covered in graffiti, with tears streaming down your face, hiding from a worse Hell.

Hell isn’t someplace you go when you die, it’s where we are afraid to live.

honestly, your work is really good but your nsfw stuff is seriously not okay??? like hunk lance keith and pidge are confirmed minors by the head of staff multiple times and for you to run around sexualizing them (especially since your bio says you're an adult!!!!!!) is way fucked up. i was so excited when i started reading your spectrum series but when i saw that it was... so disappointing. please reconsider writing about that

Okay, I haven’t ever stated my policy on this, so I’ll do so now:

I write Lance, Keith and Hunk as adults.  They are in their second year at a military academy.  Military academies do not accept minors.  That’s flat out policy.  You cannot enter any military school until you are a legal adult, period.  Because they are enlisting.  The only official ages given has been ‘late teenagers’ and ‘up for interpretation’, so I’m going to peg that 19 (actually, I put Hunk at turning 20 tomorrow).  The Canon God could come down from on high tomorrow and tell me they’re 17 and I’d tell them to fuck right back off, because that is not how the fucking military works.   (BTW it was confirmed by the same fucking head of staff that posted Sheith content, so I really can’t be bothered to care)

If you’ve still got a problem with that, block me.

Now, the fun part:

If you send me any anon messages complaining about this, since you are too much of a coward to talk to me one on one, I will respond with smut from here on out.

This is your only warning.

Summary: the reader is awoken in the middle of the night to a false fire alarm and is stuck outside her apartment building for a little while with her new, mysterious neighbor, Derek Hale

Note: I am extremely sorry for not posting! I’ve been having a bit of a hectic two months. I’m hoping to start updating this account more frequently and possibly start another writing account on the side for other fandoms once I get back on my feet again. Thank you to everyone who has sent me nice asks and fan mail complimenting my writing and asking how I am. You guys have literally made everything so much more bearable xoxo

“We don’t know what tripped the alarm, but there’s apparently no fire.” Mr. Stromm hesitantly reported, “We’re still waiting on the fire department to get here. We cannot re-enter the building until they’ve cleared it.”

“Awesome.” I grumbled quietly. No one took any notice of me; they were all too busy voicing their own complaints. I didn’t blame them. It was around two in the morning, butt-cold, and most of us have work in a few hours. This was the kind of set-back no one wanted on a Monday.

Sighing, I plopped down on the cement curb. The chill bit my tender skin, but the tree behind me provided shelter from the wind. I could tolerate it for a few minutes.

A tall figure sat down to my right. Studying my chipped toe nail polish, I murmured, “This sucks.”

I didn’t expect an answer. So when a gruff voice responded, “I’ve had far worse Mondays.” I sat up straighter. Cautiously, I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear as I glanced over at my new companion.

He was the new guy down the hall from me that had moved in a few weeks ago. My friend Stacey lived directly across from him, and had told me all about him over lunch the other day.

“His name is Derek Hale,” she had revealed. “He’s from some small town called Beacon Hills.”

“How do you know all this?” I asked her. He didn’t seem like the type to fall for Stacey’s fake charm.

“The mailman accidentally gave me his mail, so I searched his name on Facebook.” She said it as if it were the obvious thing to do, as if she were proud. Then she sighed and propped her head on her hand. “He’s so dreamy.”

Stacey was right. Derek Hale was dreamy- if that was how you wanted to put it. I had my doubts at first, being that I had only had one look of him before now, and he had been scowling then. But now, under the street lights, I could see his brilliant eyes for the first time. Were they green? Hazel? I couldn’t tell. Derek Hale’s eyes were a kaleidoscope of woodsy colors.

His dark hair looked as though he had run his fingers through it several times, and his five o’clock shadow was extremely pronounced.  He had a decent build. I tried not to look too terribly long, as he was in his boxers.

That’s when I remembered that I was only in panties and a thin camisole. I hugged my knees closer to my body as I asked, “Why do you say that?”
Derek gave me a look that clearly said ‘duh.’ “Because I’ve had worse Mondays.”

“Oh.” Was my thought-provoking response. Cheeks burning, I quickly adverted my gaze from him. I felt like an idiot. Hell, he probably thought that I was an idiot. Oh well. It wouldn’t matter in a little while. We would go back inside when the apartment was deemed ‘safe,’ and I would more than likely never speak to him again. I doubted this insignificant conversation would cause him to want to get to know me.

 “What’s your name?”

Confused, I squinted at Derek Hale. “Y/N.”

He hummed under his breath as he nodded his head in acknowledgment. “Derek.”

I nodded too, and then added, “You’re new, right?” It was obvious and stupid for me to say, but it was my pathetic attempt at continuing the conversation.

“Yes,” he licked over his lips. “I just moved in on the second.”

“How do you like it so far?” I sent him a kind smile.

Derek Hale smirked as he admired the building. He brought his attention back to me and remarked, “It’s promising.”

His answer was strange, but I didn’t question it. I felt like it had some sort of deeper meaning that I wasn’t supposed to know about. “That’s good.”

“Y/N?” I liked the way he said my name. “Do you know any good restaurants in town?”

“Yeah,” I admitted. “There’s a few…”  If I were Stacey, I’d ask him if he had a girl. But I’m not bold, so I didn’t ask why he wanted to know about decent restaurants at two in the morning.

“Good.” Derek Hale stood up. It was then I noticed that many people were re-entering the building. “Because I would like to take you out to dinner.”

 “You… what?”

Derek Hale looked at me in such a way that I no longer felt the cold. “I would like to take you to dinner.” He stated very clearly.

“Oh.” I tucked the same strand of hair behind my ear once again. “Then I would like to accompany you to dinner.”

He flashed his white teeth. “Great.”

The Man Who Flew Into Space From His Apartment

Created in 1984, the viewer enters the installation through a single door and is invited to visit the separate rooms, only one of which cannot be entered and must be viewed through cracks in a door that has been shoddily boarded up. The Man Who Flew into Space from His Apartment tells the story of one of the residents who built a catapult-like contraption to shoot himself through the roof into outer space, where he would travel on powerful streams of energy. A text describes the story as narrated by three of the other residents, one of whom happened to know the cosmonaut better than the others yet admits, “I didn’t know him well.” The room still contains the contraption, a gaping hole in the ceiling, and scientific drawings and diagrams tacked to a wall that is covered with wallpaper composed of old Soviet propaganda posters. A diorama of the town shows the man’s expected projectile path into outer space. The text explains that shortly after the man went into orbit authorities arrived and boarded up the room.

“No, no please no” Henry breathed out, feeling tears well up in his eyes.

“We are afraid you must wait here, my king. The birth is going to be a tough one” the maid had her head bowed respectfully.

“How is my wife? How is (Y/n)?” he dared to ask, feeling his lower lip trembled. Fearing edged inside him more than ever before, more than any battle he had been in.

“She is handling well… for now. We cannot predict how the situation will be later but- she is being strong, my king. Our queen is not willing to give up so easily” she tried to smile reassuringly.

“I must- I must see her. I need to see her” he breathed out, ready to get up from his throne where they had forced him to stay till you had given birth.

“My king, I am sorry but you must not- you cannot enter.” the maid said in a low but still audible voice.

“That inside there is my wife! And I will not stand here, doing nothing while she in there is giving the biggest fight of her life for all of us!” he roared.

“My king-”

“I will see her. Now. And I won’t hear a single word. I am the king and you will do as I say. Take me to her.” he commanded full of authority and they had no other choice.

“Just a little more my queen, please try to hold on a little more. It is not just the right time yet” the maid was trying to sooth you down, not that you could hear much in your pain and screaming.

The doors burst open and all the maids that were inside the room turned to look at who had entered. All of their eyes widened as they saw Henry as a small whimper left your lips.

“Hal” you whispered his old name and a small, sad and loving smile appeared on his lips.

“Go on!” he commanded the rest of the maids that had stopped, freezing int their place. He quickly rushed by your side and took hold of your hand.

You turned your head to look up at him, your lower lip trembling as tears had welled up in your eyes.

“I’m scared” you whispered to him, one tear running down your cheek.

“I know my love. I know” he whispered kissing your forehead “I know. But you must fight my queen. You shall fight because I know you can. That’s what made me fall in love with you so many years ago. Your passion and will to fight for the ones you love. You shall not stop now. You must not stop now” he said firmly and you smiled at him.

“I will fight. For you. For us. For this baby.” you said back just as firmly.

“Yes my love” he whispered kissing your hand “Yes, that’s right. And you shall win. I know it, my beautiful angel. I know you will.”

You gave him a nod squeezing his hand and put all your will in fighting this battle for him, for you and above all for the kid.

A few months ago I was in Marrakech, Morocco for some business. I wanted to pray fajr in the famous Koutoubia masjid at least once before leaving. It is open for prayer to Muslims - but tourists cannot enter.

So I went during fajr, and because I was the only Muslim on the trip, I was alone. I asked a man where the women’s entrance was, and he told me there was no women’s entrance. An old man (grandpa wala) overhead this and he ushered me inside. The women’s part of the masjid had become a storage space. As it was beginning to start a fuss, I decided to leave.

But then this grandpawala made ALL THE MEN move away from the back so I could pray in ease. Every time someone new came in he told them to move up to the front front so I’d feel comfortable.

May Allah reward grandpawala for giving this girl a chance to pray in the masjid ✌🏽

BSD Novel: Dazai Osamu and the Dark Era (Chapter 1, 3/9)

Just an update! I’ve gone through the previous chapters and made minor edits because of different phrasings. In part 2, I thought it was Odasaku parroting Dazai, but it was Ango and Dazai talking, apparently. Other than that, most of the content is true to the novel. Translating from the book is a lot more difficult, so expect updates to be slower.

Feel free to let me know if you spot any errors! As usual, much thanks to @nakaharachuyaa for proofreading.

-he’s lived for hundreds of years

-he’s able to travel down chimneys or other vent ways no matter the size, possibly as a mist form.

-The cookies and stockings you leave are considered an invitation to enter your home. A vampire cannot enter your home without your permission. The reason that Santa doesn’t bring presents to kids who celebrate Hanukkah or some other holiday is because they don’t leave “invitations”, and he cannot enter their homes.

-He only comes out at night, right around the winter solstice (the longest night of the year).

-The North Pole, with nights sometimes lasting for months at a time, is one of the most logical places for a vampire to live.

I believe it was confirmed LWA will get 25 episodes! Thus I have hope we will see development in the diakko (Diana & Akko) dynamic. I also hope they'll explain how those with non magic blood can perform magic, or if Atsuko is a special case

Honestly, I won’t even complain if they give us fillers. Anything in the LWA universe will be entertaining and fun. Give me an episode of just… random shit happening. No reason, no plot, I don’t care, I’ll still love it.

I’m also excited to see more cool creatures/monsters!!!!

And I’m sure they’ll explain about people with non-magic blood. I mean, Akko supposedly is from a non-magical family, but the Shiny Rod sure does seem to like to follow her around.

Also remember “Ordinary witches cannot enter the Arcturus Forest” >> Akko, Lotte, and Sucy enter the Arcturus Forest.

So there’ll have to be some explanation about that eventually~
