Vulpes lagopus - arctic fox. The one with blue coloration which is caused by recessive genes. It’s probably trainsitioning cause its fur is too dark for winter coat and not enough dark for summer coat. Blue arctic foxes’ fur never get snow-white.
People get really upset about being put in their place about foxes belonging to canidae rather than felidae. Like…really upset. Listen, when I correct you on it I’m not trying to lord my knowledge over you. I’m trying to make sure you don’t go telling people the wrong thing. Is it necessarily harmful to say foxes are feline? No. Is it still annoyingly false? Yeah. Don’t be offended when someone corrects you- would you rather know the truth, or look like an idiot?
I had a dream last night that I was at a kind of winter fair, and there was a fox there. He was sitting in the middle of the path where everyone were walking, but nobody seemed to care about him or acknowledge him. I bent down to pet him and noticed he was so cold, especially on the paws. So I took his paws in my hands and warmed them, and when my hands became cold too, I put his paws on my stomach. I asked if he liked it and he nodded without looking at me. Suddenly he was all happy again and running around, and everyone started to notice him, laughing at his jumps and just admiring him.
It was such a nice dream, and I feel like it means something, but I’m not sure what.
