Dress To Impress

I HAD to write a fic based on the footage we got of Molly at the Rosie Watson’s christening. I mean, her dress…WOW. Special thanks to @mae-jones for the info on hibiscus in the reblog of my post, and to @fangirlhani who sent a HC that fit into this ficlet just perfectly…here goes!

Sherlock heard her before he saw her. Her heels clicking on the stone floor of the church as she walked over to where he was standing with the Watsons and Mrs. Hudson. He wasn’t prepared, however, for what he’d see when he turned around.

The air became too heavy to breath all of a sudden as Sherlock turned to see Molly step into the light that shone through the nearby window.

“Hi, everybody,” she stated brightly, to which everybody responded.

That is, everybody but Sherlock.

He noted that her cheeks flushed just a bit as he froze and began looking her up and down- just routine observations of course, he explained to himself internally. Always helpful to notice details about the people closest to you. For instance…

Reasons why Hannibal/Bedelia makes perfect sense:

  • he feels protective of her.
  • of all the psychiatrists he could have chosen, it was her. There’s something about her that intrigues him.
  • she has the capacity to do Very Bad Things, which is something Hannibal knew before she did.
  • he refused to accept her resignation and she chose to accept his refusal.
  • he covered up her murder as she covered up his involvement.
  • she’s the only person besides Will Graham who knows and understands him.
  • he opens up to her about his innermost thoughts and feelings to a degree he hasn’t even done with Will.
  • she’s suspected that he’s dangerous for a while but continued his therapy regardless because her professional curiosity in him was too great to resist.
  • she’s one of very few people who saw him for what he is and survived it (in part through her own intelligence, in part because he cares about her to a degree).
  • she made the conscious choice not to kill him and instead chose to join him because again, her curiosity in him is too great to resist.
  • he allowed her to go with him instead of killing her right there, when he had already left everyone else to die (Hannibal is a social creature who enjoys company and Bedelia is a familiar force in his life he feels trusting of).
  • she’s drawn to the criminal mind, Hannibal’s in particular.
  • she’s no innocent bystander; she’s complicit in his crimes and while terrified also fascinated and participating in them to a degree she hasn’t anticipated but is undeniable.
  • they have very similar tastes; Bedelia’s house closely resembles Hannibal’s and they listen to the same kind of music. It wouldn’t be a stretch to assume Bedelia enjoys the environment and life they have in Italy as much as he does (apart from the crimes).
  • she’s an unconventional psychiatrist, like him, which doubtlessly drew him to her and makes her therapy with him about as unhealthy as his with Will’s.
  • she’s intelligent and capable enough to see through him and manipulate him to a degree, making her more an equal than a victim.
  • she never sugarcoats things and is always extremely frank with him, despite knowing what he is, and he reacts to those moments with almost childish petulancy, not anger. She’s much more of a guiding force in his life than he would probably like to admit.
  • he wanted to be her friend and she shot him down, stating that they’re colleagues but not that – because he doesn’t show his true face and hides behind a veil. The veil is now lifted and they share an openness and honesty Hannibal has never had with anyone else except to a degree Will Graham.
  • from what we’ve seen, her life is somewhat depressing; he’s her only patient, she’s alone in the house, and apparently nobody missed her when she disappeared. Hannibal can offer her excitement and intrigue, which she seems to be interested in, judging by her continuous involvement with someone who she knows to be dangerous.
  • them posing as a married couple is no coincidence; it’s Hannibal’s way of enforcing commitment, ensuring her loyalty. If she truly wished to betray him, a ring on her finger wouldn’t stop her, but somehow Hannibal seems to think it would – marriage clearly means something to him, and he chose her to do it with.
I feel like you need to see a concert twice to actually see it. Like the first time, you’re there and you’re just stood in disbelief that you’re there watching that person and they’re real and the whole thing is real and you have so much adrenaline pumping through your body that you’re just mesmerised by them.
But the second time you can go and really just appreciate it, you can take in all the sounds and people and the environment and you can truly hear the singer, like you can be fully aware of them. You don’t need to take videos or photos this time because you’ve done all that and you can just watch and listen and live in that moment and cherish it.
Reasons why people on Tumblr hate me

• Only on tumblr is it a bad thing to NOT have a mental illness. People come on here and complain (brag) about their more than likely not real disorders and it’s perfectly, 101% okay, but as soon as I state that I’m glad and thankful that I don’t have a mental illness, I’m an ableist. You heard correctly! I’m chastised for being a healthy and happy person!

• Only on tumblr is it s bad thing to be cisgendered. People come on here complaining how hard their life is because they are the opposite gender or some other nonexistent gender. This should go back to the previous paragraph where I’m referring to mental illnesses, but I felt that it needed its own paragraph. If someone claims to be __gender when they are 13 years old, they more than likely just like dressing like the opposite sex or like both sexes. At the age of 18 (16 in some places), it can be diagnosed as a real mental illness. Anytime someone reads that I’m cis, they immediately assume I’m “transphobic”, which is completely incorrect; I am not afraid of anyone who claims to be trans. I believe that transgender, and every other gender besides male and female, is caused by a mental disorder, dysphoria, and is nonexistent. I partially believe that agender could possibly be a thing. I also believe that a lot of “genders” don’t exist, for example: “trigender”, there is no “third gender”. Males have XY chromosomes, XXY chromosomes, or even XXXY chromosomes, and females have XX chromosomes. There is no third “Z” chromosome. You are either male or female. This is not being “transphobic”, this is basic biology. By the way, Cis people make up about 99.7% of the Earth’s known population, so wishing every cis to die will wipe out 6,979,000,000+ people of the 7,000,000,000+ people on Earth right now.

 • Only on tumblr is it a bad thing to be heterosexual. People come on here talking about some edgy-sounding sexuality that either doesn’t exist or already has a name, then I get called “homophobic” when I state that “pansexual” isn’t a sexuality., which is also incorrect; I am not afraid of “the same”. Pansexuality is defined as “liking all genders”… So, you’re bisexual. As stated above, there are two genders. You’re either gay, straight, bisexual, or “asexual”. I only put that in parenthesis because that is an incorrect term that was adopted fairly recently. Asexual means you’re able to reproduce without a mate and make an exact copy of yourself; if you can do that, PLEASE let me know because they would be awesome!

 • Only on tumblr is it a bad thing to be white. People come on this site and bitch, moan, and complain how white people oppress black people. I admit that segregation was only demolished within the last one hundred years, but what people DON’T look at is how other races where slaves, oppressed, and killed, not just the blacks; in a lot of cases, they were treated worse. Example: Italians who migrated over to America. This was not as recent, but it sure as hell happened. Everyone’s complaining about “while privilege,” which was a thing a few years ago, but over the past two years, it has completely skipped true equality and has nearly switched, but nO ONE sees it! As soon as I state my own opinion that goes against someone else who happens to be black, I get called “racist” where if it were two black people or two white people going back and forth, it’d okay. Now, if I stated my opinion of something and a black person came back and started verbally attacking me, everyone would back that person up because they’re black and I’m white. Yep. It’s IMPOSSIBLE for a black person to be prejudice towards a white person. Just because I’m white doesn’t mean I ever owned a slave. “Well, your ancestors did!”
1) How has that personally effected you, with your clean, running water, cellphone, Internet, bed, roof, and clean food?
2) My ancestors are from Italy. They didn’t own slaves because they were the slaves, but you don’t see me complaining about what happened hundreds of years ago.

• Now, let me just clarify something right here:
• My best friend claims to be genderfluid and demisexual. I met zim when ze was straight/ questioning bisexual and cis-female. Ze told me about how this is who ze is. After three years of such a tight friendship, I could never cut zim out. Ze changed zis name, not legally, because zis parents are up the ass Christians. After months of going along with the made up pronouns, fake gender, imaginary sexuality, and some otherkin shit, I sat zim down and told zim my thoughts on all of these things. I never raised my voice or spoke illy of any of it. I agreed to keep calling zim by zis preferred pronouns and new name because ze’s my best friend. After a year of telling zim this, we are still beast friends.

• I also had another friend of mine who decided to be trans. I met him when he was still going by female pronouns. He asked me what I thought about the transition and I said that if he wanted to, he should. His father was a more accepting and helped him buy men’s clothing. He still has a vagina, but that’s fine. I later told him my views on “transgender” in a very polite and calm way and he got a but angry. After a few months, he has distanced himself from me and now we rarely talk.

• When I was a kid, one of my best friends was black. We went through all of elementary school together (K-5) and neither of us thought about our skin color. I didn’t see her much in the summer before 4th grade, but after school started back, she started ignoring me and hanging out with a clique of other girls who were black. Again, I didn’t think anything about skin color at the time, so I was a confused child who was scared because I thought I did something wrong. As the school year progressed, she started making fun of me because I was Italian - I was very tan at the time because this was a time where kids actually played outside for entertainment. Then, the following year in 5th grade, her are her group didn’t talk to me because I was white - I didn’t tan much over that summer. She learned racism and took it out on not just me, but every other white kid in my class.

                            CAPTAIN SWAN DIVERSITY WEEK
                                            6 - 12 of JULY

We all love Captain Swan, but our worlds - both real and fairy tale - are worlds of endless cultural possibilities, far beyond the confines of the show and the ethnic representations on the show. So the proposition is to use this week to delve into the canon/fantasy/modern au possibilities that can be inspired by those many cultures. We are a ridiculously wonderful and diverse fandom after all!

Okay, so here’s the run down.

RULES:-

  • Create something - fan fiction, drawings, graphics, gifsets, playlists, videos, etc.
  • Use something cultural as your inspiration - whether it be CS going out for Korean instead of Granny’s, a holiday in South Africa, a non-US school system, one of your favourite festivals. Or, if you’d prefer the fairy tale route, feel free to delve into a myth or story from any and every culture available - How The Birds Got Their Colours, Laila and Majnu, etc. What you choose to make of it is entirely up to you.

Make sure you cite or refer to the culture or its element you have chosen.

  • Colin and Jen are absurdly gorgeous, I know, and I love looking at them as much as you do, but racial bending is also encouraged.
  • Please be mindful of the cultures which you are inspired by. There will be no tolerance for appropriation or blackface (and other variations). Be respectful.
(I know you will be anyway, because you’re all precious human dandelions, but you know.)
  • Use the following tag - #CS Diversity Week - in addition to your normal tags.
  • The point is to learn and embrace and have fun. So make sure you do that, okay?
  • Please remember to flail and wallow over the perfection that is Captain Swan. No buts, no exceptions, no regrets.
  • Reblog to spread the word :)

After so long not being on tumblr I keep forgetting that Malec kiss was a real thing, that it actually happened so whenever I come back on and see pics/gifs I get all giddy again and then also realize we’ll get more in the future and that just makes me excited!!
P.S. Just even seeing a gif of Alec saying “Enough” makes me feel like I need to change my underwear lol
