My eyes lit up when you mentioned Quaker post-WS Bucky... any headcanons you feel like sharing? I'm from a Quaker background and I feel it influences so much of my (and my family's) thinking but it's hard to articulate because the past two generations have been non-religious and haven't framed it that way. But their tolerance and non-violence definitely feels Quaker to the core. It's ok if you don't feel like sharing, I just don't come across many Quaker-identified ppl and you've made me think..

oh my god. So this is the ask of my dreams and I’m gonna get WAY in depth here because I have a lot of feelings.

first and foremost, I have to rec from winter, a boundless spring by @notcaycepollard because it features quaker!Bucky who is soft and gorgeous (just like the fic). Also, Vanessa is a member of Quaker Club along with me and @yawpkatsi and now you if you want to be!! Join us, we are small in numbers and (thanks to me and lisa) high in kinks.

Second, I’m used to people not knowing what being a Quaker is all about, so I’m going to just provide a teeny bit of info. The Quaker religion, like many religions, is different everywhere you go. I grew up in the old, Philadelphian Quaker church. Rumor has it that the Californian Quakers even have guns. Quakers believe in non-violence and passivity to the point where it can actually be harmful. My mother used to tell me to ‘turn the other cheek’. I am just recently unlearning that but I still to this day have a problem watching/ being exposed to lots of violence (the marvel movies are about as hardcore as I can get). Quakers also never posses or own weapons of any kind, even child’s toys. As a child I was not allowed to even play with a water gun.

So let’s bring post-WS Bucky into this.

1) can you tell me what the last five years is and 2) should I check it out?

1. Yes! The Last Five Years is a musical about the relationship of two characters named Jamie and Cathy. It’s formatted in a really interesting way. Jamie’s story follows the relationship from beginning to end, whereas Cathy’s story is told in reverse chronological order. Their timelines only meet once in the middle. They made a movie out of it recently starring Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan.
2. Yes, and then you should immediately come tell me your thoughts!

Rules: Tag 20 people you’d like to know better

I got tagged by @freedxwolfie (dammit lani, how dare you tag me jk thanks bud)

Nickname: Don’t really have one but my dad calls me Bigdog or Harry
Zodiac Sign: Aquarius
Height: uh…i’m tall? Thats all I really remember, I can’t remember my actual height
Last thing you googled: …why would i tell you? I’m kidding it was Comic tutorials and other art tutorials
Favorite music artist: Terell Stafford, Gordon Goodwin and Lars Danielsson
Song stuck in my head: it varies but recently its been Forza Del Destino from Devil May Cry 4

Last movie you watched: Underworld series (I thought the movies were mediocre)
What are you wearing right now: you perverts. Kidding i’m wearing a green t-shirt with a white turtle that says “Take it slow” and Black converse shorts
Why did you chose your URL: I don’t recall but it had something to do with making an account and lucar3213 was something I could remember
Do you have any other blogs: I have an art blog but I don’t use it as much as I should. Its called @docawesomedraws
What did your last relationship teach you: relationships can fall apart without good communication. My last one didn’t last because it was a long distance relationship and well…we barely talked…and…I couldn’t deal with it anymore…I wanted to break it up mutually and not ruin the friendship we had…i’ll spare you the details as it wasn’t pretty, we haven’t talked since but from what I can tell…she’s fine and I think we’ve moved on from that. My second relationship ended on better terms and now she’s my best friend in the whole damn world…oh and it was also a long distance relationship so yeah. I rather not get into anything else but the way my brain works kinda makes me worried i’m freaking out or making my female friends uncomfortable, so I try to keep to myself and…look I worry a lot ok? Lets leave it at that and the lesson I learned is have good communication with your significant other whether it be long distance or a close distance relationship. Just make sure you have a good system for you to talk with your siginificant other so the relationship isn’t going to fall apart.
Religious or Spiritual: um I don’t know? I believe that heaven and hell might exist? Just need proof but i’m more into the mythical stuff and fantasy shit
Favorite colour: Orange and Violet, fucking love violet
Average hours of sleep: why do you? Anyway i’d say I aim for 7-8 hours of sleep
Lucky number: 4, ironic considering the number 4 is considered unlucky in japan. Guess it makes sense for me then huh? HA! (I’m an emotional mess on the inside)
Favorite characters: Fuck. Well…i can’t say but I like Sonic the Hedgehog, Shadow the Hedgehog and knuckles the Echidna. I guess i’m liking 2B from Nier: Automata so far and ummm…Dante and Vergil from Devil May Cry. Oh and Lillie from Pokemon Sun and Moon. Most of these are Video Game characters…I don’t watch or read a lot. And as a cop out I love my OCS cause they’re a bunch of doofuses and I love them.
How many blankets do you sleep with: just 1 but its a duna
Dream job: I want to make my Own comics and start my own Web-comic! But I do want to become a graphic designer since I enjoy Graphic design a lot!

As for the 20 people…well fuck uh well
@thejegsu @pattiipatt @joyoiyoi @robotnikholmescomicblog
@sa2oap (even though i won’t force her to do this though) @aniwissenpai @ashie-kins
And thats all I can think of really sorry It ain’t 20 but really these are the few people I kinda know…sorry I guess?

T/N: This CD was cute, Suzuki Yuuto’s dim voice suits the character IMO. (More thoughts at the end of the post due to spoilers)

I originally had this post on my main blog, but I moved it over here so if you saw this before, now you know. (In case anyone accusing me of stealing or something)

As usual, my hetakuso japanese can’t be trusted, read at your own discretion. Feel free to correct me if i got any mistakes though. Enjoy!

Marianne and Bog both love Megamind.  They have the entire movie memorized (Bog can deliver a moving rendition of Megamind’s opening monologue).  They’ll start acting out scenes at random moments:

Bog:  Ha!  You’ve falling right into my trap!

Marianne:  You can’t trap justice.  It’s an idea, belief!

B:  But even the most heartfelt belief can get corroded over time!

M:  Justice is a non-corrosive metal!

B:  But metal can be melted by the heat of revaunge!

M:  It’s pronounced revenge and it’s best served cold!

B:  But it can easily be reheated in the microwave of evil!

M:  Well I think your warranty’s about to expire!

B:  Maybe I got an extended warranty!

M:  Warranties are invalid if used beyond their intended purpose!

Dawn, plaintively into Sunny’s shoulder:  Please, tell me I’m adopted.

Sunny:  There, there, honeybun.  We can leave them here and watch A Walk to Remember.

Dawn:  I love you!

Sunny:  *pulls back dramatically*

Dawn:  Now would be the time to say something.

Sunny:  *puts hands over face*  I told you not to fall in love with me!  *cries theatrically*

Bog:  Are they quoting A Walk to Remember now?

Marianne:  You guys are so weird.

How Can I Tell Friends I Like Other Girls?

A lot of teens want to know how to come out to friends and it is true that there is no guarantee that your friends won’t get freaked out. But hopefully you know them well enough to have a sense of how they might react. If you don’t, you might want to try to get a better sense by having a “feeler” conversation. Here are some things you can say:

  • “I was watching ________ movie, and the main character was a girl who had a crush on this other girl.”
  • “So what do you think about gay marriage?”
  • “Some kids are starting a Gay / Straight Alliance. I was thinking about joining.”

You can decide whether or not you still want to come out after the “feeler” conversation.

If you choose to tell your friends that you like other girls, you have a few options:

  • Just say it. “So– I like other girls.”
  • Ease in. “Lucy, I’ve been having feeling for other girls recently.”
  • Ask a question. “Amber, what would you say if I told you I was bisexual?”

You can tell your friends you aren’t interested in them in that way, as well. But don’t beat yourself up if the conversation doesn’t go as anticipated and try to cut the person you are talking to some slack. This might be a big surprise, and it might take a little while for your news to sink in.

Whatever you decide, good luck!

kikikirikiki  asked:

I'm curious, what are your major art influence?

WHWHUUAHRHRHRRHHHHHHHHHHHHH

There is literally so many. Mostly its based off of storytelling and linework before I get bananas over color.

So entertainment wise it would be people like

Cory Loftis

Shiyoon Kim (I use his brushes for most of my drawings lately)

Jin Kim

Milt Kahl (THE. MAN. one of the 9 old Men but my favorite)

(He gets more than one images because he’s Milt fekkin’ Kahl)

Helen Chen(And her partner in crime Ryan Lang)

Paul Felix (The other THE MAN)

and Claire Hummel

(Almost all of these guys have a tumblr and/or a twitter)

Al Hirshfeld

Aubrey Beardsley (This picture amazingly does not have a giant dick or fart joke in it)

Charles Dana Gibson

Leyendecker (Obvs?)

Rene Gruau

Robert McGinnis

Doug Snyed(who is a playboy artist and its totally sexist but pretty damned funny)

Klimt

….uhhhh Tom of Finland *wink wonk*

Pulp artists,  architecture from the 60s, Googie, old Vegas art signs, Japanese woodblock prints, various manga and comic book artists.

I was lucky I grew up in an era where the was a LOT of weird fucking cartoons on tv as well as the birth of cartoon network so all the original Cartoon Cartoons, Nicktoons, fucking Liquid Television on MTV, AEON FLUX!?. Post 80s and early 90s stuff on tv. Fresh Prince. Back to the Future, the Last Unicorn. That weird old Hobbit cartoon!? The History of Santa Claus movie?

This bitch!?!

IDK that’s probably enough but there’s probably a ton left I could talk about. I think its also important to not just be influenced by one or two things.

Like you can definitely find an artist contemporary or not and be like “THIS! THIS IS WHAT I WANNA DO” but they’re already doing it or have done it? Influences can come from anywhere. Like, I love Rupaul’s Drag Race and that has definitely influenced parts of my drawings. I know you mentioned major influences but its really hard to narrow down especially due to what time of my life it is or what day of the week it is or how I’m feeling or what type of work I wanna do. Its important that if you wanna do art professionally to know a little bit about everything.

Having a wide visual library is important. That means not just watching the most recent super hero movie but going back to the classics. Good movies AND bad movies. Read as much as you can. Knowing stories and how people tell stories. How do people live? What kind of architecture or artisan stuff do they need. Things like that are all really influential to me personally.

First Dibs

Request: hey! this is my first request here so can you do a request of this post? “Imagine your first favourite character looking at a room full of your other favourite characters and shouting “I WAS HERE FIRST!” ” ~ leves chocolate, tea, some lyrics, hugs, kisses and a lemon tea~

A/N: *takes everything* Well, who am I to deny such a fun request? :3 Good thing too; I’m in a writing mood

(F/C): First fave character’s name
(Y/N): Reader’s name

Everyone is gender-neutral btw.
