Emma Swan Appreciation
I just want to take a moment to appreciate how much care the writers have put into dealing with Emma’s fears and issues and making her such a relatable character.
Emma is always Emma … not some “look, we fixed her” version of the character. She feels like a friend and sometimes she feels like me. She feels real because her story isn’t just about a fairytale ending … it’s about healing the pain of the past with the promise of the future. That doesn’t happen overnight and it can take years to really sink in.
Emma Swan reminds me to be brave and to be a good person and know that I deserve good things to happen to me. But she also reminds me that there are times when I might not handle everything perfectly … and that it’s okay.
