This is it. this is the scene that wrecked me. I haven’t even finished reading this fic….

There are so many different storylines because ultimately everything is connected. But at first what you’re seeing is all these different characters who could absolutely be the stars of their own show. So it looks like they are completely disconnected and have no effect on each other whatsoever. - Samuel Barnett

I feel like the entire The 100 fandom just needs a quicky reminder.

A lot of the characters on this show are supposed to be children!

This is easily forgotten because these characters are played by adults (which is a problem in media in and of itself but it’s the CW so what are you gonna do?). But it’s still important to remember:

Clarke is 18. Technically an adult but still very young to but running an entire group of people (that aren’t just other children).

Octavia is 17 at most.

Same goes for Jasper and Monty but I’d waver on the side of them being closer to 16. Same as Harper.

They are older teenagers capable of making their own decisions which means that they have to take responsibility for those decisions. It doesn’t excuse the shitty and problematic things that they do.

What it does mean is that they are still learning. They are still growing into a whole person. They are going to make mistakes. Some of those mistakes, especially in these high stake situations, are going to have more intense consequences for them and others around them. But they are still in the process of learning who they are and the difference between right and wrong.

They are still learning.

it’s been p much confirmed there’s gonna be a filler arc before whole cake island and i was about to complain about that when i realized…..that carrot will be there…..carrot will get filler content…..THERE WILL BE MORE CARROT

and now i’m not upset anymore

Does anyone else ever feel guilty for liking always sunny? Like i was tryin 2 talk about it w a friend bc im excited about all the stuff thats happened (i.e gay, soft dennis and chardee) but they just keep bringing up shitty stuff that theyve done/said on the show? Like i know it can be way the fuck off the mark sometimes and does have offensive humour but also its just enjoyable most of the time? And stress relieving? And the everyone in the fandom (on tumblr) is really nice? Idk its just abit shit tht it made me feel bad for getting excited over a show that my best friend thinks is Problematic u kno?

Does Shiro sing

Eh?  He can hold a tune, but he’s not really talented in it, which to Shiro’s brain means ‘I suck at this’.  He’s not even close to the worst singer in the group (that’s Pidge, bar none), but he’d be embarrassed to do it in front of others.

He likes humming, both hearing and doing.  It’s lower stress and it sounds nice and soothing.  It actually relaxes him a lot more than singing, because for that he feels like he should be engaged and attentive.

How would you grade last night's Blacklist episode?

If we’re doing school grades, then a solid B, I’d say.

And even that is only carried by Spader’s acting; because from a dramaturgical viewpoint I think the episode fell flat in many aspects; the biggest one being the lack of emotional payoff at the end. While it was nice to see Red suffer for 30+ minutes I really would have wanted him to interact more with Liz, or even other members of the task force.

Because while I liked LouLou in her doctor who-esque one episode companion role, I think that Liz could have filled that role quiet nicely. That way we would have gotten some actual emotion from Liz, have her put in Red’s shoes to see how he must have felt when she ‘died’. It would have been a perfect opportunity to address that betrayal (because what better way to have Liz address it than when Red is looking for someone else who has betrayed him? Cue guilty looks from Liz until she eventually breaks during one of his more violent coughing fits). Plus, bringing up Liz’s death would have offered a perfect opening to cast Kaplan as the mole / attacker.

As it is, I feel like the writers had a lot of great ideas. The blacklister had creepy potential but would have needed some more hashing out, I think. The whole reversal of time story arc, where Red attempts to re-trace his steps was super interesting, but also very cautious. Why not go all out and have a sweep episode style story arc where you ONLY have to puzzle past events together? I feel like they could have been bolder with this.

(Plus I’m bitter because I got exactly NONE of the things I was looking forward to: Liz interacting with dying!Red, Red revealing some secrets to Liz on his deathbed, Liz being there with Red on his deathbed / maybe even touching him, Red having a death bed scene at all; The speculations: Red going to see Agnes, Liz throwing that window in with a chair to get Red some medication. Mostly Red and Liz interaction, tbh.)

This would have been an amazing chance to actually fix their relationship and get them on speaking terms again / show the viewers that Liz DOES care (Raymond, I do love- this could have been brought up again, be it in a romantic sense or not). Just add in an actual climax to your episode, instead of solving the apparent problem in 2 seconds off-screen. That was just incredibly lazy writing IMO. So sadly, narrative arc-wise, we’re still not moving anywhere.

So while I have a severe weak for Soriel, at the same time I also kind of headcannon both Sans and Papyrus as aces??

It’s mostly because they’re skeletons, really. It wouldn’t make any biological sense for them to be sexually attracted to anyone. Papyrus kinda reinforces that idea by learning he doesn’t share any romantic feelings for the player in the game and that he had never dated anybody beforehand either. Idk. Maybe it’s just me projecting myself a little onto those goobers. Is that really so bad? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I went thrift shopping today for some cotton pants (since I only own jeans and dress-khakis) for the dig I’m going on this summer with the classics department and my trowel came in the mail yesterday and now all I need is a wide brim hat and I can look like a Real Archaeologist

I also found a couple cute (and floral!!!) shirts for really cheap so I can look cute when I’m not on the dig site and some tacky patterned pants/leggings sort of things that are 100% my Aesthetic
