can i be proud of this or no

“A monster that refused, sometimes, to behave like a monster. When a monster stopped behaving like a monster, did it stop being a monster? Did it become something else?”

do you guys know what one of my favorite moments of In the Heights is? It’s the end of Carnaval Del Barrio, when they chant “alza la bandera” and all the countries they come from, while dancing and celebrating. If you’re a latino, it’s hard to comprehend what it is to have a country, a culture that is often seen as less important or less beautiful being chanted with pride and excitement.

Carnaval del Barrio is one of the moments that make me tear up because it makes me proud. Makes me proud to be a latina, makes me proud of my culture being celebrated in such a beautiful way by my people, and I can’t thank Lin-Manuel Miranda enough for that.
Hamilton's Phillipa Soo Shares Her Brilliant Trick for Kiss-Proof Lipstick
How the star of Hamilton and Amélie leaves her mark on Broadway — but never on a costar's cheek.
By Elizabeth Siegel

If you’ve spent a Sunday afternoon refreshing Ticketmaster or scouring Broadway for scalpers or belting out “Stay Alive,” then you already know Phillipa Soo — at least, you know her alias Eliza Schuyler Hamilton. “I was very proud to be a part of something that reminds us that we come from all different sorts of places and that we’re all just trying to live the best lives we can,” says Soo, in a voice that’s clear and bright and, holy cow, really strong. Because the 26-year-old’s vocal cords aren’t those of a normal human. They’re a Grammy-winning phenomenon: From opening night until last July, Soo made Broadway a little better, a little cooler as Hamilton’s leading lady.

And this month, she’s moving two blocks north to the Walter Kerr Theatre, stepping into the quirky French lead in Amélie. “When you’re on a show schedule, everything is heightened,” says Soo. “You’re always aware of what works and what doesn’t so you can be at your best.” For Soo, that meant practicing roughly 23 hours a day. It also meant overhauling her skin-care routine and finding one perfect cherry-red lipstick.

Thanks for this request :) I just want to say that I’ve never done anything like this before so I apologize in advance if you don’t like it. I did my best and hope it’s not so bad ;) Until someone, who’s more talented than me, decides to make better one, I hope this one will do:

If anyone else want to use it then go ahead :) Just don’t claim as your own :)

Luna and Pansy walk down the hallway hand in hand. Pansy kisses Luna quickly before shooting her into transfiguration and then walks over to Ginny and promptly smacks her behind. "Hiya Gingie. Miss me in history?" (Yes that rhymed and yes I am proud of it)

Ginny: Yeah, but uh-

Ginny: You can make it up to me…in chemistry.

My mom bought me a shirt andesign I can't wait!!!!😀 I've been following your art since forever and reconized the image mark originally wanted to use. Also I agree with mark when he says your art has progressed in these last year's and I'm proud of you and anyone in the community that has supported you and your art😊 (ps. Tell dark he looks cool even as a shirt design)

Aww thank you anon!!! <3 I’ll be sure to let Dark know..though I have a feeling he already does ;)

I know I post weight loss shit all the time but I have such a hard time believing that I’ve made progress, or feeling better about my body (shoutout to gender dysphoria), so I really need these before and after pics to prove to myself that I am making progress and that I am healthier. So sorry for the spam, I’m just proud of myself 🙏🏼💪🏼 left pic is April 2016, 175ish lbs. right pic is was yesterday, March 2017, 135 lbs. This was all thanks to intermittent fasting (the warrior diet, water fasting), elimination of gluten, and a general focus on healthy eating, smarter portion sizes, and smaller eating windows. If I can do it, so can you

This is a new oc of mine named Battarom (anagram of Battering Ram)

much like @valkyrie-girl (GO CHECK OUT HER ART AND BLOG! SERIOUSLY, SHE HAS GOOD SHIT!) I love creating new races for the Dragon Ball Universe. Battarom belongs to a race called the Onigras. A warrior/hunter like race whose whole culture thrives on the battle and the hunt.

Battarom is a nomad of her people and lives solely in solitude. She’s stubborn and arrogant but her heart is full of honor. Don’t enter her territory unless you wish for a beat down or death.

Battarom is actually my first LGBT character. That’s right, she’s gay and proud of it.

Fun Fact: She talks in Third Person, just like Cocoa.

I can’t forget that @ruf1ohn1tram, @janembascandyhell and @lakehounds helped inspire in this ocs creation.

More info of her race, click below.

Talk about role models. Who are your role models? How have they influenced you?

I have soooo many , but these are the ones i look up to most . Miles Mckenna , KatBlaque, Jeffrey Marsh , Miles Jai , and Tyler Ford . I consider them role models because of how they advocate for the queer community , and others more so for people of colour too. By having them be proud of their identities and demonstrate that to the outside world while also acknowledging that life isn’t always sunshine and rainbows, it inspires me to be more confident myself .

It’s also important to note that theother role models i have in my life are my friends from the queer community. Even some of my friends who are allies give me hope that other cis people can draw on them as inspiration to become accepting like they are .
