camera strap

Reasons the first Mythbusters episode is great:

-shoddy camera work bc they only had one or two cameras
-they decide to strap a JATO rocket to a Chevy Impala
-they call the actual Air Force and ask “hey can we have a JATO rocket” and because this is episode 1 the response they get is “… Why???? and who are you????”
-the dirt-cheap used car they buy (to strap a rocket to, of course) breaks down as they’re trying to drive it back to the warehouse, and they have to call triple A to pick them up
-the random urban legends lady who pops in, talks about cars being sex symbols for some reason and is never mentioned again afterwards
-the Air Force people call them back, twice, just to make extra sure they know that of course they absolutely can’t have a JATO rocket for their nutso project, who even are they anyways
-so they weld on three amateur rockets instead as an approximate equivalent
-Adam welding inside the car and keeps accidentally setting the car on fire
-because you can’t safely be inside an amateur-made rocket-powered car, they decide to remote control it
-that’s right
-rocket-powered, life sized RC car. these men are living the dream
-Adam: ‘this is so exciting, I’m going to have to have a grin-ectomy’
-Jamie (yes, JAMIE) giggling wildly when it actually WORKS, somehow
-and then as an encore they disprove the myth that you can pop your stomach by drinking soda while eating pop rocks by mounting a pig’s stomach inside of a plastic skeleton and force-feeding the stomach massive amounts of soda
-I just really love the Mythbusters what a show

How about the guys' babies saying their first word? Bonus if it's addressing their father! :D

This turned out a lot cuter than anticipated. I am low key dying.

Noctis

Lucis’s King trudged into his chambers, pulling the double doors shut behind him.

Paperwork.  Mountains and mountains of paperwork. The workload increased day by day.

Noctis’s exhausted eyes searched through the darkness of his bedroom to find his wife sound asleep curled up in their bed. He huffed out a sigh of disappointment. A nonpolitical conversation the King held was his Queen was becoming a true rarity. Noctis hated it.

What he hated more was being separated from his newborn son, Corrin. He only nearing the age of 10 month and Noctis felt as if he never was allowed enough time with the young prince. It destroyed him.

As tired as he was, Noctis mustered enough energy to press on with a soft tiptoe toward Corrin’s crib situated only a few feet away from his mother’s side of their double bed.

The child laid safety in his crib, but laid wide awake. His bright blue eyes remained open as he searched over the chocobo themed mobile that leisurely spun above him.

Noctis peered loving down at his son.

The instant his father came into view Corrin let out an elated coo.

“Hey, Cor,” Noctis whispered, a smiling slowly crawling on his face. “How are you doing? Why are you awake so late?” He lowered his left hand into the crib. Corrin instinctively reached out and wrapped his tiny fingers around Noctis’s thumb. A chuckle passed through Noctis’s lips. “I missed you today.”

“D-d-d” Corrin began to stutter.

“Yeah?” Noctis muttered encouragingly. The baby had been threatening to utter his first words for the past few days, but never was able to sputter a full word.  Only the simple sounds of letters.

“Dada!” Corrin exclaimed with a happy shriek.

“Hm?” The Queen grumbled at the sound of her child.

“Dada!” Corrin repeated again as if he was more sure of himself. Noctis’s lips parted. “

“Yes, Corrin,” he praised, unable to wipe the proud grin off his face.

The future King of Lucis had finally muttered his first words…

Prompto

Ever since gaining their pediatricians approval, Prompto took 10 month old Ilaria to Wiz’s Chocobo Post nearly four times a week. It offered the perfect photo opportunities as it gave a wonderful reason for Ilaria to show off her nearly toothless smile while she giggled endlessly at the great birds.

“There y’all are! It was gettin’ late. I was wondering if something came up,” Wiz greeted Prompto and Ilaria, who sat safely in Prompto’s arms as they approached the post.

“Sorry for making you worry, Wiz. Ilaria is getting a new tooth and she’s been hurting a lot today. We were thinking about not coming and letting her rest, but I decided she needed some cheering up,” Prompto explaining, not even flinching as his daughter began to pull at his blonde locks.

“Aw, poor girl. Well, there ain’t nothin’ a chocobo can’t fix. Come on over,” Wiz gestured for the father and daughter duo to follow.

“Come on, Ilaria. Let’s get you to some chocobos ASAP,” Prompto pushed himself forward following Wiz to the stables. Once the yellow birds came into view Ilaria cooed in excitement and clapped her hands together in pure joy.

“There’s that smile I love!” Prompto exclaimed happily.

“Kweh!” The familiar cries of the chocobos filled their ears as the entered the stable.

“Chobo! Oco! Chobo!” Ilaria cried with a happy shriek.

Prompto eye’s widened as he shot a surprised look at Wiz.

“Well I’ll be,” Wiz chuckled lowly, scratching the back of his neck.

“Her first word!” Prompto gasped excitedly, putting Ilaria down on the stable ground and reached for his camera that was strapped on his side. Ilaria clumsily began to waddle forward and then tumbled onto her butt. The fall didn’t phase her, she simply crawled forward on her hands and knees to the nearest chocobo. The yellow bird leaned his head down to nuzzle the child.

“Chobo! Oco!” Ilaria repeated, hugging the birds beak.

Prompto swiftly snapped the picture of the adorable moment. “Not exactly ‘chocobo’ but… I’ll take it! Wait till her mom hears about this!”

Gladiolus

It was not unusual for the two men of the Amicitia household to take a nap together. After a long work out, Gladio retrieve Aster from his crib and take him to the couch. There, Gladiolus would lay on his back while his son sprawled against his chest. Within minutes, the boys would be out like a light.

Aster and Gladiolus had all too much in common. Their urge to snore was one similarity. While Gladio’s snore was harsh and roaring, Aster’s snore was sweet, and hushed… but clearly noticeable. Gladio’s harsh snore never phased his child from his sleep… unlike his wife…

“Hun,” his wife’s familiar, sweet voice stirred him from his nap. “Gladio, it’s almost time for dinner.” Her light fingers tracing the skin of his upper arm.

With a yawn, Gladio’s amber eyes fluttered open. “Alright,” he complied sleepily. Aster began to stir as well. “C’mon little buddy, time to get you fed,” Gladio took his son into his arms and carried him into the kitchen.

“Glad Dad!”

The sound of sudden hysterical laughter escaped his wife’s lips. “Oh my goodness, did he just say what I though he said?”

“Glad dad!” Aster repeated, proud of the reaction he elicited from his mother.

“Heh,” Gladio chortled. “Nice job, buddy,” a sense of warm pride filled Gladio’s heart as he pressed his lips against his son’s cheek.

Ignis

The only Ignis allowed a mess in his kitchen was when young Aleena wished to play by banging on the pots and pans. She always sat at the edge of the kitchen with numerous sets of metal bowls, pots, and plastic Tupperware lying out before her with a wooden spoon in hand.

Hearing his daughter making the strangest of music always made Ignis chuckle as he prepared dinner for the evening.

BANG!

CLANG!

CRASH!

“What a lovely song, Aleena,” Ignis complimented as he busied himself at the stove as he created stir fry for the evening’s meal.

Aleena giggled with joy at her fathers compliment and continued to hit the materials laid out before her with her spoon.

With each and every sound that echoed through the kitchen, an excited squeal escaped the baby girl’s mouth. It was true music to Ignis’s ears.

“Darling! I think we are raising an upcoming musician!” Ignis called to his wife who was busy in the laundry room across the apartment.

“I hear!” His wife responded enthusiastically.

“Daaaaaaddy!” Aleena began to sing loudly as she rhythmically hit a metal stirring bowl over and over.

Ignis turned to face the sound of his daughter’s voice, his lips parting in utter surprise. “Did you hear that?” Ignis called out to his wife once more.

“Yes, I did!” His wife sounded much closer than before. “How sweet, Aleena,” his wife muttered. He could only assume that she hoisted their child into her arms, as the loud banging halted. “Your first word is ‘daddy.’ That’s so cute,” his wife gushed. “Look at how big your father is smiling now.”

“Daddy!” She exclaimed with a sweet coo.

Ignis didn’t even realize the large grin on his face before his wife pointed it out to him.

Smile - Jughead x Reader

Request — Can you do a jughead x reader where the reader is very shy but has a huge crush on jughead? Then she walks by and sees in a window Betty and jughead kissing then she runs away? Thanks, I’ve had this in my mind for so long ♡

A/N — I am so happy to write this request as I have been meaning to write something similar for a while, yet again I changed it up a bit. Also, I’m at 100 followers so thank you guys for supporting me and my writing. Also I’m down a couple tags since the buzz lately is everyone getting Bughead smut in tags like Reggie or Thornhill, shit like that, so I’m sticking to the tags that matter to Jughead. Anywho, I hope you enjoy this imagine because I have a feelings it’s going to be adorable as heck.

Words: 1310

Warnings: None

(Y/N) , (E/C) , (H/C) , (S/C) — Your name, eye colour, hair colour, skin colour.

You sat on the bleachers at the Riverdale Bulldog’s first game of the season. You held your camera in your gentle small hands, watching the intense football game as high school heart throb, Archie Andrews, got the crowd’s attention as he was a fan favourite. (Y/N) waited patiently for the half time cheerleader show to start in just a few minutes, as it was her job working for the Blue and Gold as the yearbook photographer, she took the chance to grab some photos.

That Autumn night was chilly, as the students clung onto their coats and scarves, baring the weather to come and support the game. Finally the half time show arrived, the River Vixen’s ran onto the field with their leader, Cheryl Blossom, front and centre. You sat up from your seat, squeezing through the rows of crowded people to get down to the front of the stands. The camera strap slung over (Y/N)’s shoulder as she managed to finally get down, bumping into someone. Unaware of her surroundings, she had the close call of almost dropping her beloved camera, but luckily that figure caught it in time to shatter. And that figure happened to be her ultimate crush, Jughead Jones.

“That was a close one.” Jughead chuckled as he looked down at the camera before staring straight into your (E/C), making your knees easily give in. She was so shy whenever she was around him, she didn’t know what to do or more importantly what to say whenever she had the chance.

“T-Thanks, Jug,”  was all she managed to blurt out to stop herself from rambling on with anxiety. And then the unthinkable happened, she quickly propped up her camera into her hands as she looked through the lens which aimed straight at Jughead. “Smile!” Jughead blinked a couple times, getting use to the sudden flash that caught him. (Y/N) quickly slung her camera over her shoulder, a red blush spreading brightly over her (S/C) complexion. “S-Sorry. Uh, yearbook features, y’know,” she awkwardly chuckled. “Speaking of which, I gotta go!” She flashed Jughead a quick smile before turning away, just when Jughead laid a hand on her shoulder, stopping her.

I didn’t know you did photography until I saw your camera. Maybe one time you could show me whenever I’m in home room or at the Blue and Gold.” Jughead suggested, making you pause a couple seconds to just soak in what she just witnessed. ‘Jughead Jones literally just asked to see my photo’s, is this real?’ Is what she thought to herself.

Uh, s-sure. Yeah, I-I guess so. Um, I gotta go and take more p-photos… bye.” She once again awkwardly said before this time getting the chance to run away, leaving Jughead staring at her before breaking into a cheeky smile and walking off.

Later that week, (Y/N) was sitting at the computer uploading her photo’s from the game for the yearbook. One picture really captured her eye, and that was Jughead’s. Although it caught him by surprise, the photo turned out to be quite photogenic. He still managed to look perfect as always, yet half of his face was covered by his hand blocking the flash from my camera. Suddenly she heard the sound of a door opening. First reaction: hide. She had no thoughts about minimising her computer tabs and ran to hide behind the couch, as the door swung open with a very anxious Betty Cooper and concerned Jughead Jones making an entrance. (Y/N) noticed that Betty had something on her mind as she paced around in the same spot for a couple seconds.

“I don’t know what to do, Jug. There’s so much going on, my parents, the Blue and Gold, Jason’s murder. I-I don’t know what to do.” Betty closed her eyes, taking a deep exhale out. You peeked out from behind the couch from the side, watching as Jughead stood there staring at Betty. Betty opened her eyes to find Jughead staring straight at her.

“What?” He just kept staring, Betty now slightly getting a bit agitated. “..What?” Suddenly Jughead cupped Betty’s cheeks and kissed her softly. That’s how easy it is to break a heart. (Y/N) quickly yet quietly turned back sitting against the back of the couch, closing her eyes as she quietly sobbed into her sleeve as the tears started rolling down her cheeks. She heard their lips finally pull away which felt like forever, then a door once again closing. Your sniffled quietly, wiping your tears away as you finally stood up, turning around to find a speechless Jughead standing right there staring at the photo you took of him. You bit your lip to stop your tears from shedding yet again, running over to the computer as you closed the tabs, Jug placed his hand right back on your shoulder.

“(Y/N)… what’s wrong?” He asked concerned for your sake now, staring deep into your red puffy eyes.

“What’s wong? W-What’s wrong? What’s wrong is the fact that I just had my heart shatter for a boy I never had a chance with at all.” (Y/N) yelled at him, before grabbing her bag and storming out the room.

You let your grieve last your for another week. You stood at your locker in the famous Riverdale hallways, placing your books into your locker along with the rest of your belongings. All that was in your mind was that picture of Jughead kissing Betty. That’s a photo she couldn’t erase. She rested her head against the locker next to her, soon interrupting her daydream as someone cleared her throat. She closed her locker door to find a sad Jughead appear in front of her.

“Can we talk?” Jughead asked, almost in a whisper. His blue eyes pierced into yours as he watched you fiddling with the sleeve of your sweater. You just shrugged, but shortly after nodded. “About last week, and what you said… d-did you really mean it? I mean, I have no feelings for Betty whatsoever. I freaked out and didn’t know what to do to make her stop freaking out, s-so I just kissed her.” (Y/N) sighed, still not persuaded enough. “Hey um, I don’t know if you noticed, but I think you left behind last week something important.” He then dug his hand into his satchel, pulling out your camera. With all the emotions hitting you at that time, you must of not looked back to notice that you forgot your camera still hooked up to the computer. You took your camera from his hands, turning it on to make sure all your photos were still there.

“I-I saw your photos of me.” At the mention, your heart sunk once again as you looked up at them. “And I think they’re wonderful. In fact.” He paused, taking out his own camera, turning it on and turning it to face you, many photos of you taking photo’s at the Bulldog’s game that night displayed on his. You never noticed that Jughead brought a camera to the game, you thought he only went to go and judge. “I-I thought you looked beautiful that night, I just had to.” And like that, your frown turned into a smile.

“Hey, I-I was wondering if you wanted to go to Pop’s after school? On a d-date?” You asked shyly, but it earned another cheeky smirk from Jughead.

I’ll walk you there, meet me near the bus stops.” He blushed, before putting his camera back in his satchel, slowing leaning down to your height to place a kiss on your cheek before walking away. You shortly after found yourself standing against your locker, eyes closed with the biggest, goofiest, smile on your face.

A/N — I hope you enjoyed this imagine and it was hopefully like you wanted it to be in a way? Also, my laptop has decided to fuck up suddenly so I might have to wipe my whole laptop and start again because all the settings and everything is locked and I cannot access important files for school and stuff like that, so that might mean I won’t keep up to date with the requests in order for a bit until I get everything settled. Anyway, I hope all of you guys are well and are having a lovely day!

As many of my friends know, I’m not much of a camera strap person. They tend to get in your way and can be pretty uncomfortable. This is my personal favourite and I swear by this artisan and artist silk cord strap. It goes on any rangefinder I have, it’s light, wraps around your wrist nicely, breathable and extremely strong. It has a pretty unique look as well and comes in a few solid colours. Simple and clean, handmade in Japan
