Let’s talk about those gay teddy bears

Let’s for argument’s sake pretend that all of this is legit. The (admittedly super adorable) baby picture indicates that Louis is a proud father, the pregnancy may have been weird but it actually happened exactly the way it has been presented to us, as horribly mishandled as that is.

One more time, try and explain away these fucking bears. No one outside of the fandom gives them any real attention, no one who’s not a committed Larry really believes they have any deeper meaning. The argument against them is that a crew member is doing it as a joke or they’re being deliberately used to bait/distract Larries.

So we’re supposed to write off the dozens of coincidences linking them to Harry and Louis. I’m talking about the coding of each bear with timing and objects and clothing, the endless parade of green and blue mood stickers, the color specific spotlights, the night at the gay club, the blurred and visible reflections in the glasses.

We’re supposed to write off the industry connections. The parade of lgbt celebrities, many of whom were closeted and came out later in their career revealing a committed partnership and/or sued news outlets and record companies for their negative impact on their careers: Larry Grayson, John Inman, Quentin Crisp, Liberace, K.D. Lang, Danny La Rue, George Michael, Andy Bell. The celebrities that were advocates for queer rights or created media that has been iconic to the lgbt community: Judy Garland, Queen, Liza Minelli, Joan Rivers, Bette Davis, The Village People. Celebrities like Claire Richards, who wrote a tell all about how horribly she was treated in the music industry after getting her start on a music competition.

We’re supposed to write off the connections to Simon Cowell. The drag queen Stella Artois whose image was repeated until she was successfully identified in a poster with three former competition show contestants that were judged by Simon Cowell, one of whom likened her experience with and after X Factor to being part of a money making machine where she would have signed anything they put in front of her. The drag queen Lee Star, who had just been associated in the media with Chris Maloney who came out after being closeted while on the X Factor.

We’re supposed to write off all the times that the rbb twitter posted right after the Larry fandom was rocked and shaken by events that had unfolded, or right before as a warning to buckle up. We’re supposed to write off the countdown that coincided with the suspiciously cancelled show that ended with a warning that the bears would be coming out soon. We’re supposed to write off the Divine birthday cake icon on Louis’ birthday, and the Freddie Mercury icon when Freddie’s name was finally revealed to the public. We’re supposed to write off Home and Soon to Return.

We’re supposed to write off the favoriting of the Larry Ok tweet and the photograph that was signed “Love, Larry.”

All of the exquisite attention to detail, the extensively compiled information on queer celebrities and industry commentary that implies foul play on the part of Simon Cowell and their record company, the endless careful allusions to Harry and Louis, the extensive planning and dedication to monitoring the fandom to make sure that we were ok and understanding everything.

We’re supposed to write all of that off as either a mean-spirited prank by a member of their crew or a baiting effort to keep us here performed by a team that has spent One Direction’s entire career trying to make us leave and feel stupid and delusional and guilty of destroying the friendship of the two celebrities we cared most about.

Not a fucking chance.

The internet really does not know how to give a shit about context or intent… Let costars joke around on a panel like the friends they are and chill tf out.

Best parts of Moana:
-no love interest
-Moana had proportions like an actual human and wasn’t sexualized
-Disney princess set to inherit is actually depicted being trained in running her society
-no dead parents!
-bechdel test pass
-respectful depiction of source material and culture
-the music oh my god!!!!!
-Maui’s 4th wall breaks
-no actual villain
-closest thing to a villain was David Bowie crab
-Lin-Manuel Miranda
-the chicken
-only white in the cast voiced the chicken
-my giant green wife

A note on the timeline

Babygate breaks - a few days later Drag me Down is released to outrageously high sales
Louis confirms on GMA - music video is released and breaks view records in first 24 hours
Album release date announced and preorders begin - Briana attends 6 concerts in a row

And now?

Louis has been asked about the pregnancy in an interview for the second time, which means the new single is coming out in the next 48 hours, mark my words.

Feel free to send in some spooky prompts for your faves!!

*Prompts with dark themes and light gore are allowed (I don’t really watch horror movies to most references will fly over my head jsyk)

*Also feel free to request spooky versions of characters (e.g. demon!Chara, vampire!sans, or zombie!Frisk and so on!)

*And last but not least, definitely feel free to request Halloween festivities (e.g. trick or treating, horror movie marathon((I’ll do my best)), and Halloween party)

the new halloween movie is going to be everything. it has jamie lee curtis in it and i am so excited. @xxj0kerxx done got me started on how excited i am now. but i am, so so excited! nobody who reads this will understand unless they love michael and the originals as much as i do. i grew up watching them, i’m only 26…don’t think i’m like 40, but my mom let me watch them every halloween because they never scared me. then i got into friday the 13th, a nightmare on elm street, child’s play/chucky, i just…ugh. i love, love, love horror movies. jamie lee curtis is the scream queen and i love her to pieces.

Very grateful for the fan who asked Maisy about acting with her mom. I was afraid she’d be largely ignored which was kinda the case because most questions were for Caity.

Speaking of…yikes, she had to field some tough questions like about bi stereotypes. To be honest, a lot of those types of questions make me cringe because like really, how do you expect the actor to answer something like that…

Too bad a lot of the questions were the typical ones that get asked at every con/interview/panel. At least we got some new info with regards to how the chemistry test with Jes went (at least it was the first time I heard that story).

Wish there was more acknowledgement of Maisy actually being part of the community.

This panel felt kind of attack-y and cringy at times for me. Especially compared to how beautiful the Chyler leigh panel was. But there were some good moments too.

I’m kind of freaking out right now, so I think we should take a closer look at the broader picture. Let’s think about everything that’s been happening in the past handful of weeks.

  • Harry and Louis have been placed next to each other in official photo shoots and interviews four times (after how long of nothing?).
  • A single is released that was explicitly written by them, and all the press around it drew attention to this fact. (and by most interpretations, including my own, it’s a song that deliberately shades one of Harry’s previous fauxmances)
  • Rbb and sbb’s setup have featured queer closeted celebrities that are obviously connected to “Larry” and media outlets have picked up on this.
  • Louis has been featured in solo interviews and his name has become prominently featured any time there’s press about the band and he’s being treated like a force that will continue to have an impact on the music industry after the hiatus in the media, what with him guest starring on x factor and the renewed discussion about his still sketchy label (didn’t we always say that before a CO his image would have to be raised? And as much as I hate it, I do feel like babygate has had a part in this, continuing to define louis as a celebrity outside of just being a member of one direction).
  • The complete and utter nonsense that was the day of the first Belfast show that culminated in a song being accidentally released that Louis commented about on twitter and that he was one of the main writers for. And it’s obvious to all of us that it’s a very personal song that’s very easily read as one of queer self discovery and two people committing to each other who don’t have a physical home (like maybe if they were international popstars i’m just saying).
  • Harry and Louis’ names have been linked in a rash of media articles, apart from the other band members, on three different occasions: the release of Perfect, the tweets after Belfast, and the billboard fan action ad response.
  • Billboard published an article about fans getting excited over a possible switch in 1d management (that also trashes all the shit that modest has pulled), in the same edition that Harry and Louis drew attention on twitter.
  • The entire celebrity media industry has been and is currently mocking the validity of the babygate pregnancy, especially using that accidentally  recently posted stock article.
  • RBB and SBB get an official twitter (the day before coming out day). Josh, the only member of the tour to have been openly associated with them, denies any part in their control. And the twitter has been posting more cryptic (and very queer) nonsense, including a sketchy countdown that ends this Sunday (counting down to the bear’s appearance at a show? to the end of babygate? to something else entirely?).

Now think about all of this, as a whole, and tell me that you aren’t thinking exactly what I am.

It’s happening.

And it’s happening much sooner than we thought.

okay, so. i wanted to change my url so i could basically use any mascot i feel in the moment/any icon i’d like when i feel. but i have zero ideas. if any of my followers have any ideas, i’d love some feedback. just some ideas that would be cool, i usually use songs or something but i literally have no song to inspire me. i’d love some help.

As is tradition, here’s an unorganized list of all the Good Shit™ i loved in Wonder Woman.

  • the line about how men are not necessary for sexual pleasure. Lesbian Island #confirmed
  • the inclusion of discussions of period racism and the Native American genocide
  • a well-depicted character with PTSD
  • Antiope, my wife.
  • every time Diana just looked at Steve like ‘your culture is backwards and prejudiced and it sucks, Steve.’
  • didn’t include a male-gaze ridden sex scene, but did include a gratutious, moderately objectifying naked Chris Pine scene
  • Diana coming to terms with the fact that she needed to adjust her worldview and perspective on the nature of humanity, and deciding that humanity is worth saving anyway
  • all the greek gods are fucking dead get wrekt scrubs
  • Diana! Being so genuine and kind and compassionate!!!!
  • the very strong anti-war message. like, it doesn’t get much stronger than completely annihilating the godly manifestation of war itself.
  • The bait-and-switch bad guy reveal.
  • Diana “I am no man” Prince taking the greatest power walk of all time across the battlefield.
  • Diana just flying directly into a tower and smashing that shit to pieces.
  • Diana ends up by fighting for good without even needing a sword, just like she said she would as a little girl.
  • i’m so gay for this character good god
  • take my fucking money patty jenkins just fuckin take it
