She is a soprano and has a vocal range of three octaves.
Turunen studied singing at Sibelius Academy and Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe.
Her talent for music was first noted when she sang the song “Enkeli taivaan” (the Finnish version of “From Heaven Above to Earth I Come”) in the Kitee church hall at age three. She joined the church choir and started taking vocal lessons. At age six, she started playing piano.
She is respected by other musicians of the metal genre and is an influence on their work; for instance, Simone Simons of Epica names her as her inspiration to study classical music and apply that vocal style to a metal band.

Personal life:
In 2003 Turunen married Argentine businessman Marcelo Cabuli and they have a daughter Naomi Eerika Alexia Cabuli Turunen (born in 2012).

Okay, there has been even more Anette bashing so I have to ask…why is it acceptable for the guys in Nightwish to devote the second half of their autobiography to insulting Tarja and Marcelo, but not okay when Anette gives a few interviews? Let’s be clear and realize that Nightwish now accuses Anette of airing the band’s dirty laundry, but they did the same thing to Tarja. The only difference is that they openly humiliated her and then acted all innocent. I give Anette credit for making no excuses for her actions.

Tuomas also did a ton of interviews after Tarja was fired. How are these interviews different than Anette’s? Why does he get a pass with most of the fans? Why is it socially acceptable to hate Anette more? I’m getting pretty fed up with all the hypocrisy.
