also: Prue, Piper, Paige, Patty!! and I know we didn't get nearly enough of her but I'm still curious, Chris, and Wyatt :)

Yay!!! Have I mentioned that I adore you?! :)

Prue Halliwell

general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life

hotness level:
get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang

hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff

I’m always torn between Gryffindor and Slytherin for her, but she’s so ambitious, cunning, determined, will do anything to help those she loves, and is profoundly prideful, so into Slytherin she goes :)

best quality: Courageous, selfless, protective, brave, determined

worst quality: Can be too prideful and out of touch with some of her ‘softer’ emotions

ship them with: Andy and (to a lesser extent) Bane

brotp them with: Her sisters, of course—especially Phoebe!

needs to stay away from: SHAX (*sob*)

misc. thoughts: I always admired and respected Prue more than almost any other character ever, but it took me a little longer to warm up to her. Now I adore and appreciate her both as an individual character and how her presence made the Charmed Ones’ dynamics as both sisters and witches deeper and more clearly defined than they were after she was gone

Piper Halliwell

general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life

I love all four sisters, but it’s no secret that Piper is the most personally problematic for me—and the fact that some pockets of the fandom (not here!) insist that she’s literally perfect and superior to all the other sisters in every way triggers this ‘no, she’s not, she actually has serious shortcomings and let me tell you what they are…’ impulse in me because, yes, I can be a petty brat ;) So let me make it clear that I do like her and appreciate what she adds to the show. I just don’t love her quite as much as the majority of our Charmed community does, but differences are what makes fandom life interesting, right?!

Hardworking, loyal, down to earth, values harmony, honesty and ‘normalcy’, etc.

best quality: I love that at least one of the Charmed ones is an introvert and homebody (I relate!), she’s got a good heart and a lot of integrity, she’s pragmatic, efficient, hardworking and loyal, and shows through her actions how deeply she cares for her family members

worst quality: Her relentlessly negative attitude can be exhausting (to me!), she’s too snippy, excessively critical, prone to complaining a lot about things that can’t be changed, tends to take her bad moods out on her sisters and husband a little too often, crosses the line from sarcasm/sass to coming off as genuinely nasty sometimes

ship them with: MARK CHAO!

brotp them with: Her sisters!

needs to stay away from: I can’t believe I’m saying this given the premise of the show, but witchcraft! Piper hates having to be a witch far more than her sisters do, and she’d be happier—or at least thinks she’d be—leading the ‘normal’ life that she dreams of throughout the series. (Originally I’d hoped she’d come to embrace their destiny as witches with a little more positivity, but since that didn’t happen, I just want to see her happier)

misc. thoughts: I get that the show wanted an excuse to trot out musical acts on an almost weekly basis, but I can never see Piper even wanting to hang out a lot in a nightclub, let alone own and run one. It felt so out of character to me. And her job never seemed to give her much actual happiness and satisfaction (just more stress and annoyance), which meant that through many parts of the series she was moderatelly to majorly discontent with her job, the Leo situation, her destiny as a witch, whether she could keep her kids safe…etc. No wonder she was constantly in a bad mood! ;) I wish the writers had allowed us to see her genuinely happy and enthused about at least some aspects of her life more often, though.

Paige Matthews

general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life

I’m a Ravenclaw as well, so maybe I just like to think that Paige and I have vital things in common ;) She’s curious, quirky, clever, independent, genuinely likes to learn, tends to consider various possibilities and solutions (some of which are ‘outside the box!), and has very little patience for idiocy :)

best quality: Manages to maintain her individuality and independence while still connecting deeply with others and fulfilling her destiny to help those in need

worst quality: So in her stubborn insistence on retaining said individuality and independence, she can sometimes come across as a little petulant and overly defiant :) She was also sometimes underwritten/inconsistently written by the Charmed writers.

ship them with: Henry—or being happily single! (memo to TV writers: Not everyone in the world has to be married with children in order to have a ‘happy ending’!)

brotp them with: Her sisters!

needs to stay away from: Nate, the smarmy nightclub owner who turned out to be MARRIED while he was dating her…what a gentleman! ;)

misc. thoughts: Paige is such a relatable, interesting combination of a lot of seemingly contradictory traits: she’s emotional and compassionate yet tough, impatient and sassy, she’s often unsure and eagerly searching for her identity, meaning and purpose yet also confident and direct, she longs to connect and be included/needed but still insists on remaining a highly independent individual who takes her own path. This makes for a great character but also one who can all too easily end up inconsistently depicted by the show’s writers!

This is already insanely long (I’m so sorry—once I start talking about this show, I need a magical spell to shut me up!), but I’ll do the others in a separate post! Thanks again!!!
