You know what will hurt? Not seeing that adorable guy who was always making fun of everyone around him, joking away, laughing, crying, singing, dancing, giving his all for the club he played for; everyday in training. My eyes will always search for that cute guy with the curliest hair and that child-like smile and tears will start rolling down when I realize he won’t wear that Chelsea badge when he goes out to play any longer. Just hope he will remember us and cherish the time we spent together. You’ve surely won a million hearts. Thank you Geezer, thank you for the million smiles you spread and the love you sent our way. Please don’t forget us David!! 😢💙

I felt lost the first few days [of pre season]. At Cobham Lamps is next door to me and Ash is a couple up.

We’ve grown up together and won and lost here at Chelsea and done many great things so I was very sad to see Lamps & Ash go.

To see Ash already sign for Roma & Lamps has signed for New York. It doesn’t seem right to me seeing them in different shirts.

To do what Lampard has done at the club… for me there’s no one better.

Lamps has been an absolute legend at this club and his legacy will remain forever. This club is evolving. One day we’ll all be gone.

Lamps has been an idol and someone I aspire to be in training, around the place, off the field.

Lamps was a great character but footballing wise I’ve never met someone who works as hard as he does on the field to improve his game.

Yeah, It was in Seattle preseason, the first preseason he had and we were all naked and were meeting one of his coaches as well. And we were showering, I was a bit nervous, new manager, I wanna get out of here, finish this off quickly. I mean he just turned to me and said: “You are the best player in the world.” I was like “Really?”. I mean obviously I wasn’t at the time and he said: “You are, all you need to do is win titles and go to that next level before people appreciate that you are that.” I dunno if it was a bit of kidology, I know that he respected me looking back at that time, because it was fantastic man management because at a moment when you’re at your most sensitive, he gave me a real boost. And it sticks in my mind because you know no one had ever said that to me before and whether it was kidology or not I don’t care because it meant a lot to me and I’ll never forget that. - Frank Lampard

“I was the adopted British guy! We had our little gang - me, Frank Lampard, John Terry and Jody Morris. We all hung out together on the pitch and in the dressing room.”

“I was in England for more or less 10 years. It’s just a place where I feel at home, I feel great and the atmosphere is great.”
