With The Crown of Ptolemy, the Kane/Percy Jackson crossover stories make their debut on the New York Times children’s series bestseller list – not bad for a series of electronic short stories!

Also in the e-single, you can read the first chapter of Magnus Chase: The Sword of Summer. I just saw a sneak peek of John Rocco’s cover art for The Sword of Summer. WOW. I think it’s his best cover yet! Can’t share it with you quite yet … but soon. Soon.

Okay but this is for everybody who says that Calypso's portrait is stupid because she is white in that artwork

CIRCE MENTIONED IN THE SEA OF MONSTERS THAT CALYPSO IS A SORCERESS (AND SO IS KNOW IN THE ORIGINAL MYTH PLUS SHE HEALED PERCY SUPER FAST WHEN HE ARRIVED ON OGYGIA) SO MAYBE SHE CAN CHANGE HER APPEARANCE THE SAME WAY AS THE GODS. SHE IS ALSO A FUCKIN’ TITANESS, PEOPLE. CONSIDER THIS.

ok ok. can we just kinda talk about john rocco for a sec?? okay so this dude is super close with riordan, obviously, and he made all of the pjo/hoo book covers. not to mention the collab of pjgh and pjgg with rick. honestly, his work is so damn beautiful i could stare at it for hours. we talk a lot about the not-so-popular art by antonio capraro, but we don’t talk about the masterpieces by rocco. this guy can paint anything– people, dragons, animal, landscape, abstract– i honestly find it unfathomable. dont even get me started on how this guy can color. seriously. his work is so gorgeous and im so grateful he works for my favorite books, and he does it so much justice. he brings life into these characters and i praise his fluidity. bless this guy
