You do realize that Ashi is still a teenager and Jack is an old man, right?

Ok, I feel like it’s time to finally settle some of the discourse in the fandom over the Jashi ship

Ashi:

- Is an adult woman, probably around 20 years old

- Jack called her a “woman”, not “a girl”

-  She is mature beyond teenage years

- If she were a minor she definitely wouldn’t have gotten all the sexy/nude scenes she did last episode

- She can make her own decisions as an adult

- Jack helped her find her true self and gave her life a meaningful purpose besides simply being an expendable killing machine

- She obviously cares about Jack

Jack:

- Is technically 75 years old, (thousands of years old if you want to get more technical about it), but neither his physical age nor his psychological age represent a 75 year old

- He is still physically 25 years old, just with more emotional baggage (and as far as mental age goes, mind and body are not completely separate. His brain would still represent that of a 25 year old, still young and developing)

- By the logic of the “age gap” which puts Jack at 75 years old, who tf can he date acceptably then without a massive age gap since he’s an “old man”? Your grandma? That’s not fair to the character

- He was able to forgive Ashi and does seem to care about her

- It IS possible to ship Ashi with the 2001-2004 version of Jack, ya know

- We’ve had evidence that in the presence of Ashi, Jack’s hallucinations become far less aggressive (blue Jack in episode 3 vs in episode 4), or disappear entirely, so she’s positively affecting his mental health

- So much so that she is able to convince Jack out of committing suicide after 50 years of temptation

Shipping Jashi in General:

- It has become clear now that Ashi is an adult woman

- Jack and Ashi have obvious chemistry

- Both have risked their lives protecting each other

- They have saved each other’s lives

- They are a benefit to each other’s mental health

- There is no evidence that Jack is Ashi’s father

- There is no evidence of an abusive relationship (They were enemies in the beginning, and yes, Jack killed her sisters, but it was in self-defense, and Ashi understands that.)

- However you choose to see the age gap is arbitrary, not factual

- Compared to many other ships, like those shipping a young girl with a hundred-year-old vampire or whatever, or shipping Jack with a literal ancient demon, Aku, Jashi is a super unproblematic ship

Conclusion:

Jashi shippers have a very strong base for their ship that has proven to be mutually beneficial and pure. Whether it becomes canon or not, if you personally don’t like the ship for whatever reason, that’s fine, that’s your own opinion and you have a right to it. What you don’t have a right to is to attack the shippers, especially when there’s almost no reasonable argument against the Jashi ship.

After this last scene whit the secretary and jack, my supercorp feelings went through the roof. I was wondering if you could write a piece on Lena explaining to Kara why she chose saving her instead of Jack and Kara being there for her? Thanks! Btw, you are amazing!!! Thank you for existing 💕

The idea of being controlled had terrified her so much more than the idea of dying.

She’s been surprised when she told Supergirl that she had a better idea, that she’d listened to her without hesitation when she told her to keep them occupied.

That Supergirl trusted her with her life. With all their lives.

Without question, without hesitation.

It had been a stupid decision. On Supergirl’s part.

On her own.

Because Jack was dead, and she wasn’t even sure if their last kiss had been real, and he was dead, and Supergirl was alive, sure, but Jack was dead, and it was her fault, her choice, her fault.

And she’s not sure why she’s telling Kara all this – because she killed him, killed him, killed him, and surely someone as gentle, as kind, as ethical, as Kara will hate her for it, will see her brother in her for it, will see her mother in her for it – but she’s telling her anyway, and she finds that she can’t cry, and she finds that she’s more terrified than she’s ever been in her life.

Because when she feels again?

She has no idea what she’ll become.

“I saved her because the world needs her. And it does, and that’s fine, but in doing so, I killed the one man I ever… I killed Jack.”

“No,” Kara is saying, and Lena wonders how anyone can be that earnest. “No, Lena. You didn’t kill him. Beth did. Not you. You were in an impossible situation – ”

“No. It was selfish, Kara. I made the selfish choice.”

Kara furrows her brow, and though her arm is still around Lena, she pulls her face back to look at Lena’s more directly.

“But you said – ”

“It was selfish because the world does need Supergirl. But so do I. Because I don’t… I’ve lived without Jack since I came to National City, but you, Kara? I can’t imagine my life without you.”

Kara freezes and she’s too stunned even to splutter, too terrified even to pfft out a laugh.

Lena smiles softly, but it doesn’t quite reach her heart.

“The glasses are flattering, Kara, but really, nothing can hide those eyes.” She shifts so their bodies are closer. “Or these arms.”

Her words are light, but her voice is heavy. Her words are almost flirtatious, but her eyes are dull. Distant. Almost dead.

And so, in a way, is she.

This isn’t how she wanted to tell Kara that she knew.

And it certainly isn’t how she wanted to tell Kara that she can’t live without her.

But she’s already destroyed Jack. She might as well destroy this, too.

Only that’s not what happens.

It’s not what happens because Kara is shifting closer to her, arranging their bodies so they’re flush together on her couch. Kara is whispering something in what Lena can only guess is the tongue she grew up speaking, and she’s pressing a soft kiss to Lena’s forehead.

“You didn’t kill him, Lena. Beth did. And you’re… you’re allowed to mourn. Anything else – everything else – can wait. Because I’m not going anywhere, okay? I’m not. I’m going to be here while you mourn, or rage, or stare sullenly at the night sky… I’ll hold you, or I’ll listen to you, or I’ll rage with you, or I’ll tell you stories about all the constellations, all the planets, and you don’t have to say a thing. I’m not going anywhere, Lena. And… and thank you. For saving my life.”

Lena almost smiles at that.

“So you admit that I’m right about you?”

“I admit that you’re a brilliant woman with excellent deductive powers.”

“I won’t deny that,” Lena teases, and she almost sounds like herself again.

Almost. But it’s alright. It’s alright, because Kara will be there until she is.

i get major second-hand embarrassment when i watch my favorite tv shows/movies with family, my parents, or at school. and there are certain scenes where I even have to point out, (uh, y-yeah this part is..) you know, whenever they play that one movie at your school and you j us STgtsgfh. or just watching tv shows with family in general.

The neighbor of Lotte’s family is Mymble from The Moomins, some very popular Finnish characters that got their own anime series in the 90s.

You can also notice a drawing of Moominpappa in the background of one scene.

And I just realized Lotte’s last name is Yanson, like Tove Jansson, the author of the original books.

As some people know, I was working for some time on a fic about Laurent speaking to Auguste’s statue throughout the years, but decided to give up on it because I’m lazy and also, honestly, because it’s just kind of sad.

However I wanted to post just the last scene of Laurent bringing Damen to the statue, simply because it can stand on its own, it’s finished, it’s happy, and I know some people did actually want to read that fic. To those people: I’m sorry! Here’s a one-shot, likely riddled with grammatical errors, just for you.

Laurent could tell that Damen was anxious, which was a rare occurrence, and looked paradoxical on a man who struggled to look anything other than regal. He hid his worry poorly, as he hid everything, wringing his hands together and then letting them go again. His dark eyebrows were furrowed and his mouth was pulled into a straight and serious line. In spite of all this, he still managed to walk with an air of purpose. Perhaps it looked like confidence, if you did not know him.

Here, have some extra Lost/Unwound Future angst:

I just realised that when Claire went to the lab on her last day alive in the past, she was wearing green pants and a white lab coat. This must mean that the outfit she wears during the present-day events of Lost Future must have been acquired after she arrived in the future.

Dimitri was the first on the scene after the explosion, so he found Claire’s body amid the rubble wearing these clothes she’d changed into in the future, an image which he likely carried with him for the rest of his life. This means he probably recognised the outfit when Claire first put it on, 10 years later.

Can you imagine Dimitri’s growing unease as Claire (or “Celeste”) slowly accumulates more pieces of clothing during her stay, a blue jacket here, a yellow scarf there, and he’s not sure why he’s uncomfortable when she wears them, until one day when she combines them in a particular way and suddenly it clicks and he realises that he doesn’t like them because he’s seen them on her before.

These are the clothes she’s going to die in.

Hi Fia! It's the last week of classes for me, and this week promises to be especially awful, with very limited time for self-care. Could we see a snippet from Anabasis of Anakin doing some kind of self-care?

Good luck to you this week, anon!

Okay, here’s a snippet from later in the story, carved out to avoid too many spoilers.

In which self care is building yourself a new arm:

She found him in the smaller sitting room just off the veranda. It was a room she’d used only infrequently for less formal meetings, but Anakin had been living here only a few days and she was already beginning to think of it as his workroom. Jothra had appeared that morning with an impressive collection of parts and tools, most of which Padmé couldn’t identify, and Anakin had disappeared with them almost immediately, a childlike grin of anticipation lighting his face.

Editing of the Pool Scene in ASIB: Clue for EMP?

Have you ever noticed the way the opening pool scene in ASIB is edited? I re-watched it and made some new observations. Could the editing be showing us Sherlock losing consciousness, and the exact moment EMP starts?

Here is what happens:

The opening begins with “Previously” shown on the screen, leading us to believe what we are seeing is just a flashback from TGG. What follows is a series of transitions shown in quick flashes, and fading to black. Could these flashes be Sherlock losing consciousness? His eyes are fluttering or blinking. Light to Dark. Does ASIB open with the last moments of Sherlock’s life passing before him?

Moriarty says, “I’ll burn the heart out of you,” and the flashes start to speed up! Sherlock is frantically removing the bomb from John. The flashes are even faster now until…

We (Sherlock) see the bomb on the floor. And then something very interesting happens…

Complete darkness. The screen goes black for three or four seconds. Once you notice the blackout, it feels like a long time. A very dramatic musical note happens as well. Is this the moment Sherlock loses all consciousness? Is this the moment EMP begins?

If this is the moment EMP begins, what is the first thing Sherlock sees in his mind?

John.

The “fade to black” effect has stopped, indicating that we are now back in the story, picking up where we left off in TGG. Or are we? Are we in the same story after the blackout? Interestingly, the next few lines of dialogue are repeated from TGG, yet the flashback effect stops after the blackout. So what’s the point of the blackout if it’s not being used to transition from old to new scenes? EMP?

The next shot is of Moriarty walking back in. He gives the first line spoken after the blackout, a line repeated from TGG: “Sorry, boys. I’m so changeable.” Changeable, is it a clue? Is Sherlock now changing the story? Does he imagine a different outcome? Does he imagine the cliffhanger being avoided, Moriarty leaving the scene, and John and himself safe?

ASIB ends with a similar scene for Irene’s “death”. The audience thinks she is going to die. The screen blackouts for a few seconds. We hear the moaning text alert. Then surprise, Sherlock shows up and saves her. Saves himself? He imagines this from the window of Baker Street, leaving the audience to wonder if he did indeed save her. Perhaps, like the pool, he changes the story of Irene’s death (his death) to one with a happier ending.

“You were upset, so you told yourself a better story.” –Eurus/Sherlock.

Nothing like watching another great character die to start your Saturday morning, right? Thoughts on today's episode?

I liked this episode better than the last one. the death scenes were a bit more elaborate than in the manga, which I liked, but I felt like there was a slight lack of feeling in the YumiKuri scenes, I don’t know. But I think they adapted the manga very well in these. Also I had real shivers, when Marina announced the title of the next episode to be ‘Historia’! Like wow!

Question about Cathar

I love this bit from the Disavowed chapter. Faced with possibly getting mowed down by Skytroopers, the player asks if he has any last words. If you’ve romanced him, it goes like this:

Jorgan: Can that garbage.
Jorgan: And… I love you.

It took so long for me to warm to him but I’m glad I finally did. He’s such an asshole but he’s Lib’s asshole.

So SWTOR hivemind that knows more about this than I do… anyone how much fur Cathar have? Namely Jorgan but in general would be nice too. Like, are they fuzzy to the touch? Can’t write a scene without figuring it out. It might get to smut, I don’t know. Help?

To make something positive about Ch. 127... When Agni is pushing Soma away and holds his hand, do you think he could have given him something like the torn picture? (Idr if we saw him holding it before the attack) It could just be a sweet, supportive gesture, but, y'know, plot progression? And another amazing act from Agni~

Hi there!<3<3

And yes, it indeed looks like Agni gave Soma ‘something’ in his hand in this scene

and that ‘something’ is most probably the burnt family photo he found in the last chapter.

If 2CT is true and the visitor who shot Soma is real!Ciel, then I guess Agni tried to inform Soma about the possibility that the gunman might not be “Ciel”, his friend, but his twin. There was no time for him to tell Soma in detail what he knows (or rather what he has just discovered about the Phantomhive family), so he probably handed the family photo (which probably shows the twins) over to him in the hope that Soma will find out the truth on his own.

That was my 2CT-biased interpretation of that scene, but whatever it was that Agni gave to Soma, I’m sure it will play a major role in the next chapters, so let’s wait and see~! :D

I don't trust them. Why are they being so quiet? What are they planning?

well i typed all of this out and now it feels obsolete after dans tweet but here u go lol: it’s funny because i don’t even see them as being particularly quiet at the moment? they both posted instas yesterday and have been replying to people on twitter. we’re going to get a live show or a video today. we’ve gotten two videos a week and plenty of instas/tweets while they were abroad. i think what’s got everyone on edge is that they’re being vague. they’re sharing substantively fewer details about where they are right now and what they’re up to behind the scenes so maybe that’s what feels unsettling? but i actually feel like it’s the norm for dnp and maybe the last few weeks of vacay and maybe even the months before when they were just at home and happily sharing domestic anecdotes from home life have made everyone accustomed to a certain level of info from them. we haven’t had a live show in a while so ppl might also just be missing that appearance of direct communication. anddddd the last dan live show was so sketchy, there are all these questions of whether they’re moving and how they’re moving (whether they’ll still be in the current flat for the foreseeable future as they get the new one set up, for example, or whether we just won’t see them live and inside of their house for another few weeks,) and questions about upcoming florida travel (who’s going? are they both going? when are they going?) and all of that uncertainty may be what you’re feeling. but above all of that they’re still being quite active, so it’s just a weird time lmao
