bitty’s SUPER limber bc of the whole figure skating/hockey league thing, and sometimes jack thinks it’s going to be the death of him

Love doesn’t need to last a lifetime for it to be real. You can’t judge the quality of a love by the length of time it lasts. Everything dies, love included. Sometimes it does with a person, sometimes it does on its own. The greatest love story ever told doesn’t have to be about two people who spent their whole lives together. It might be about a love that lasted two weeks or two months or two years, but burned brighter and hotter and more brilliantly than any other love before or after.

A Note To Parents of Very Young Ms Marvel Readers

Hello all! Over the last few years, I’ve spoken with lots of you who read Ms Marvel with your kids, which is awesome. Ms Marvel is and will always be a YA book, but I wanted to give you a heads-up that our new story arc (Issues #14-17) is a bit scarier than our usual fare, and deals directly with online bullying. It’s less like Harry Potter Books 1-3, more like Harry Potter books 4-7. If your child made it through Goblet of Fire, chances are they’ll be able to handle this arc, but if you have any doubts, I encourage you to read through these issues yourself before sharing them with the smallest Ms Marvel fans in your life.

Pompeo confirmed as CIA chief
The Senate confirmed Mike Pompeo, President Donald Trump's pick for CIA director, on Monday night.
By Ashley Killough and Ted Barrett, CNN

Just a couple of notes about Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-KS) you can easily find from browsing the web:

He served on a couple of Benghazi committees and says Hillary intentionally lied to America because Obama was up for reelection.

He says Muslim leaders who don’t speak out against Muslim terrorists on behalf of their entire religion are complicit in those terrorist attacks. No comment, however, on the three angry white dudes with a plot to blow up an apartment building in his homestate that was housing Muslim refugees.

He’s also pro-life, anti-Obamacare, pro-NRA, and supported shutting down the government when the GOP didn’t get its way. Basically, he’s your average asshole from the Republican party catching a sweet promotion from President Velveeta.

One positive note: He believes the intelligence on Russia’s hacking activity during our election. I mean, he’s not going to do anything about it but ya know. There’s that.

Reasons why you should watch Young Justice

It’s an amazing show

It’s DC

It touches on a lot of important issues, that aren’t always brought up in shows (self-image, freedom to be yourself, loss of innocence, grief)

Bluepulse and Spitfire

It passes the bechdel test!!!

Mastering the art of creating a female character that is in a codependent relationship, but doesn’t let the relationship rule her life

There is some VERY gay undertones, especially in season 2

Bluepulse and Spitfire

Diversity, more so in season 2

Thank you DC, for realizing Mellenials are actually smart and don’t rely 100% on our phones

They also get relationships right. Like, ya, no relationship is perfect: but their ability to get over the problem is what makes a strong couple.

There’s a couple for every shipper.
Kinky relationship? Chalant
Lovey-dovey relationship? Supermartian
Looong-time relationship? MalXKaren
Fights because sexual tension relationship? SPITFIRE
They’re-not-gay-but-they’re-totally-gay? BLUEPULSE

Believable characters with a lot of depth

You thought this chick was a shallow girl with 2 brain cells? Lol turns out she’s actually not that bad and has a severe inferiority complex
(Still not a huge Megan fan but whatever) (she’s a Mary-Sue, I don’t care what you say)

Bluepulse and Spitfire

Some plot holes that are fun to point out (THAT DC WILL HOPEFULLY FIX IN SEASON 3)

It’s a DC show that doesn’t revolve around Superman and Batman (but heavily relies on their son/younger brother)

Bluepulse and Spitfire

The show has a great fandom

Like we literally exploded just because Dick Grayson hit puberty

But God DAMN he was hot

Bluepulse and Spitfire

It’s like Teen Titans, but better

I shouldn’t have said that

I’m sorry

I look into those blue eyes that no amount of dramatic makeup can make truly deadly and remember how, just a year ago, I was prepared to kill him. Convinced he was trying to kill me. Now everything is reversed. I’m determined to keep him alive, knowing the cost will be my own life, but the part of me that is not so brave as I could wish is glad that it’s Peeta, not Haymitch, beside me. Our hands find each other without further discussion. Of course we will go into this as one.

#3. Lorelai Gilmore x Luke Danes (Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life)

↳ “Just gotta tell ya before this thing goes on, you gotta realize that the only way out is in a body bag.” “Now we don’t have to write our vows.”

Sometimes I wonder if she takes photos because she likes it, or because she feels burdened to capture every moment we have during our too-short time on this earth.
—  excerpts from a book I’ll never write

Here’s some telenovela love phrases just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Soy virgen y sólo me entregaré al hombre que amo.
I’m a virgin and I’ll only give myself to a man that I love.

¡Nuestro amor es imposible!
Our love is impossible!

Si no eres mío, ¡no serás de nadie!
If you’re not mine, you won’t be anybody’s!

¡Te amo! No importa que sea la segunda vez que te veo.
I love you! It doesn’t matter that I’ve only seen you twice.

Ya no voy a volver a amar a nadie más en mi vida.
I will never love anyone again in my entire life.

¡Te amo, ya no aguanto más!
I love you, I can’t take it anymore!

¡Te voy a matar!
I’m going to kill you!

Lo nuestro se acabó.
Our love is over.

track listing:

Aries: I’m sorry. I am so sorry. This doesn’t just hurt you, believe me. These scars run deep. This town will forever be tattooed with our memories. But you will be okay. You’ll survive. And so will I. This pain will not last forever.

Taurus: Your best friend misses you ya know. The one you promises never to walk away from? Well they miss you like crazy. And it hurts. Your new life is shiny and pretty while the past is ugly and scarred. I know, but will you really leave it all behind?

Gemini: Your advice and your voice means more than what you think. It’s valid and reasonable. Find your voice again, you can do it. Learn that self sensorship only leaves you more alone and more isolated.

Cancer: pain ends. I know it doesn’t feel like it does but it does. Pain eventually ends and the veil of misery will eventually lift. I promise. This is not eternal as much as it feels like it would be.

Leo:  take a minute and just breathe. Lay underneath the stars and just breathe. Because the continual anxiety and panic is going to drown out the voice and sanity inside you.

Virgo: You’re enough. You are enough. You will always be enough. Learn to have faith in who you are so that you don’t always have to look outwards to find the approval you crave.

Libra: It hurts. I know it hurts. But sometimes things have to end and you have to do the right thing, as hard as that thing is. Sometimes closing the last chapter hurts more than all he others together.

Scorpio: Come to terms with your past. The demons in your nightmares can’t hurt you, and the ghosts in closet aren’t trying to kill you anymore.

Sagittarius: You physically came back, but really? We all know you aren’t you anymore. But I suppose neither are we. Our panic and anxiety is too fast, depression too large. I get it. But we all need time to accept you’re not who left.

Capricorn : What are you running from? What has you so scared that you’re hiding under covers and in corners hoping not to be seen? To me, you will always be the scariest thing in the room.

Aquarius: heal. Let yourself heal. I know you feel like you’re trapped and you can’t spread your wings, but you can. You have to learn how to heal in a place that isn’t good for healing.

Pisces: Why? Look back at your past and think ‘why’ because that’s what everyone else wants to know. No one else can understand why you did what you did and the only person who can give us reasons is you. So why?

in an alternate universe, our obsession over fictional characters is in reverse; the fictional characters obsess over us instead. we’re their fictional characters. harry potter is real and you’re the one in a book. captain america watches a movie of you. just different characters making gifs of your life and shipping you with whomever you have a crush on and making shit posts about you and explaining why you’re problematic.

Ezra Jack Keats’ The Snowy Day , first published in March 1962, follows a little boy exulting in a big snowfall in New York City. In the words of Jhenelle Robinson, a YA librarian at the New York Public Library’s Morrisiana branch, the beautifully illustrated picture book “captures the wonder and excitement of a fresh snowstorm through the eyes of young Peter.”

Peter (as NPR notes) “was among the first non-caricatured African-Americans to be featured in a major children’s book,” and his story captures a universal moment of joy in his everyday life.  Keats went on to win the prestigious Caldecott Medal in 1963.

In the tradition of Keats’ classic, we asked our NYPL experts to recommend children’s books that feature kids and families of color. Here are their favorites.

Ard people. Imma do it. Fuck it. It might motivate or bless someone else, so here goes nothing. 😂 #TransformationTuesday

The photo on the left was taken the day we celebrated our union…the one on the right, this NYE. I definitely wasn’t that “plush” when she fell in love. Didn’t think she’d stick around cause ain’t no way she expected to be pushin this much cushion but, to my surprise our love only grew deeper. She still accepted me, repped tf outta me, respected me, complimented me, made love to me, uplifted me. And even after I gained all this “happy weight” she still wanted to marry ME! I’m like….wth?! Are you sure?! You down to get ya upper body strength up cuz these legs must be at least 75 pounds a piece by now? What about fat jokes? Can you deal with people jeering at the love of your life constantly? How is 320 pounds of sexy not murch tew murch for you?! You do know you’re a size 4 right? 🤔

Chanel taught me that when love is TRUE, it’s always unconditional and never superficial. It was such a beautiful and needed lesson and I promise to spend the rest of my life finding other ways besides stuffing my face to express my happiness 😩😂 but it’s nice to know that I can blow tf uppp if I wanna and shawty still gone ride. To anyone on a weight loss journey, you CAN do it, but be sure to do it for yourself. The people that are really for you are going to stand behind you at any size. 😎 Anyways…love yourself, love the one you’re with and make no apologies for it. Stay dope y'all.
