reasons everyone should be watching lucifer:
  • it’s about the devil, who one day went “fuck this. i’m over hell. i’m moving to LA” honestly that’s enough reason to watch it
  • it’s not like every other cop show that is on tv at the moment. the supernatural twist always makes things bizarre and fun
  • it’s funny, like genuinely funny. it has it’s serious and emotional moments but most of the time it’s pretty lighthearted and doesn’t use Death™ to “intrigue” viewers
  • one of the best characters on the show is a pansexual demon who starts off as a pretty emotionless character and soon turns into the biggest softy who would do anything for the people she loves
  • lucifer is a bisexual dork who isn’t evil at all and just wants to be loved and accepted
  • chloe decker’s eye roll thingy
  • the show does not slut shame their female characters
  • 5/9 of the main characters are poc, 6/9 are female (as of season 2)
  • the female relationships in this show are fab!! there is no jealousy, just love and random bar fighting
  • ella lopez… i can’t even describe this dork you just need to witness it
  • the mother-daughter bond between chloe and trixie is so great. chloe is such a good mom, such a good cop, such a good person. 10/10 recommend just watching for chloe decker
  • deckerstar. whether it’s just a brotp or an otp, you will love their dynamic
  • all the characters are super different, and are all great. even some characters who may not be your fave at the start, you will end up appreciating them.
  • mazikeen’s special love for trixie decker will make your heart melt. no one would dare mess with that demon’s little mars president
  • lucifer’s constant “dad” jokes or comments about god are great
  • the music is also great
  • please just watch there are more reasons but i think i got the main ones. lucifer is great

You know, I keep seeing posts talking about what a horrible liar Kara is. But the fact of the matter is Kara is probably one of the best liars I’ve ever seen on TV.

But wait. The entirety of National City knows Kara’s Supergirl, you may be thinking. How can she be a good liar? But that’s the thing—her secret isn’t that Kara Danvers is Supergirl.

Kara’s only been Supergirl for the past year or so. But still, she’s been lying for well over a decade about who she is—and successfully. The thing about Clark—and they’ve addressed this in season 1—is he may as well be human. They’ve talked about this with Astra, and then they’ve shown this Myriad. Because in Clark’s head, he’s not Kryptonian. His powers make him stand apart, but when he solar flares, his most likely thought process is I’m human now. To Kara, it would be I’m now powerless. And there is a difference. Krypton is much more technologically advanced, yes, but that is not the only difference between Earth and Krypton.

I cannot emphasize enough Kara is not human. Kara’s alienness isn’t contingent upon her abilities—superpowers or no superpowers, she’s always Kryptonian.

And sure, plenty of people probably have figured out that Kara is Supergirl—but that’s pretty much it. What people know about Kara’s past is that she’s Superman’s cousin, and that’s it. And clearly, Kara is younger than Superman—most people aren’t going to think “yup. She was probably put in suspended animation in some way.” I mean the conspiracy theorists might, but not really the overwhelming people on Earth. (listen. You gotta draw a line somewhere)

Most people are going to think ‘Occam’s Razor’—that Kara’s mom, or dad, or both, got off Krypton at the same time as Superman, and a decade later had Kara, and that there’s a very good chance that Supergirl is half human, or at the very least born on Earth and raised as a human. It’s what’s logical, isn’t it? The simplest answer is usually the correct one.

But she’s not. English isn’t her first language, and she grew up with a very different culture, undergone a host of different experiences that most humans couldn’t even imagine. Hell, she wasn’t even born the same way—Clark was the first natural Kryptonian birth in years. That means Kara was not. Kara was born via the Codex—really, if James was surprised at the depths of Kara’s anger over losing Krypton (back in season 1—you know, where Kara got to have more than 3 emotions), or how surprised he was to find out what Kara’s family crest really meant, how surprised would they be at everything she’d decide to just stop hiding?

Because Kara is so very good at hiding. Kara Danvers is real, yeah, but it’s someone she had to build. One of the very subtle, but telling moments happened in the first episode of season two, when Kara and Clark were getting off the elevator, and Clark had a clumsy moment where he ran into someone and knocked all their things to the ground. After he apologized and helped the person pick up their things, Kara asked him “wow, you really have the whole clumsy thing down, don’t you?” “Oh no, that was real.” Key word here is thing. As in, I have a routine I go through to distract people and to seem harmless. And this is just the tip of the iceberg, of routines and acts Kara must go through to make herself seem human. Kara Danvers is real, but part of that identity is a persona she constantly embodies–clumsy, absentminded, horrible at math and science, cute but not drop dead gorgeous, a bit quirky always happy, harmless, invisible, human.

And so it’s not surprising that all of these people are figuring out her identity, but that’s not really what Kara’s held close to her chest, not like Clark. Kara’s anger and loss and just general alienness–that is her secret. This is what she’d confide, this is what she’d have to truly trust someone to reveal. This is what the culmination of trust would look like, trust in Cat or Lena or Maggie (or hell even Barry, who sure knows Kara is an alien but. He doesn’t really seem to grasp the implications of that–oh i didn’t realize Kara got mad).

For 10 years, Kara kept herself hidden, keep herself secret. But Kara’s secret isn’t that she’s Supergirl, a human with powers. Kara’s secret is that she is angry and mad and hurting. But most of all, Kara’s secret is that she is not human.

The thing about the season 2 finale I like most is the fact David wasn’t like “Oh I’m sure it was a printing mistake!” with Max’s papers. When Max says his parents didn’t care, David doesn’t jump to “That’s not true! They love you, all parents love their children, etc, etc…”

He stops and takes Max somewhere away from where he’d have to pretend and told him, word for word, “I’m sorry your parents don’t care enough, Max.” He doesn’t deny it like most adults do. He accepts the fact that Max knows what’s up with his parents and just says. Okay. I’m sorry it’s like that.

I’m 100% sure that Max has been told far too often that he’s over-reacting. It’s not that bad. I’m sure they care, they just dont show it like most parents do. People label him as an angry problem child when he’s just reacting to what has probably been years of feeling neglected. Then all of a sudden comes David, who says that he understands how max feels, and that it’s okay for him to feel the way he does.

A lot of people have just been pointing this moment out that this is Hunk making Galra jokes, which is definitely happening, don’t get me wrong, but I also feel like it overlooks something else that Hunk is trying to point out:

Galra Keith, really is, way funnier than regular Keith.

Keith is more emotional than ever before this season. Believe me, I loved Keith a lot in the first season as well, but after Keith has figured out some stuff about his past, he has changed. And here’s the kicker:

I think the writers paired him up with Hunk specifically for this purpose.

On the Coastal Tip of Jamaica, actress Candice Patton stands barefoot in a sheer yellow dress before settling turquoise waters. Her arms sway back and forth as the Caribbean air billows through the thigh-high slit. She gives the camera a small smile as the sun radiates off her skin and the tide tiptoes towards the shore. The Instagram boomerang I’m glancing at has now been viewed over 200,000 times by her 1.2 million-user following.

It’s mid-June; a median between two milestones in Candice’s life - two weeks before her 29th birthday, and two weeks after the Season 3 finale of The Flash aired in homes nationwide. The superhero fiction show, based on the DC Comics character of the same name, stars Candice as Iris West, opposite Grant Gustin as the titular hero, Barry Allen. In the last three years, The Flash has garnered over 15 awards, with Candice herself most recently winning a Saturn Award for “Best Supporting Actress on Television”. It makes sense that CBS Watch! Magazine would send her over to the Caribbean for a photoshoot.

The CW star calls me from her residence in Los Angeles on a Friday afternoon, after her trip in Jamaica. I expect her to sound exhausted from her jet setting, but she’s not. To my astoundment, there’s a lot on her mind. I come to realize that, unlike Iris West, Candice Patton is equipped with a power of her own.

anonymous asked:

do you think sheith will be canon or at least heavily hinted in the series?

looking at it objectively, i’m going to say there’s a really high probability at this point. as good a chance as there being any romance for either keith or shiro at all. this is why:

their relationship has always been defined as the emotional heart of this series. we see no other relationship this strong, and this is consistently shown, from literally their first scene. we see keith set off explosions, take out an entire room of garrison operatives like they’re tissue paper, and then melt when he sees shiro:

it’s actually one of the biggest mysteries of the series so far. like here we have two totally independent, strong people that have this incredibly deep bond, and we have no idea how or why. it’s really a unique relationship no matter how you look at it. long, long meta under the cut:

Hit Korean boy band BTS is ready to take over Anaheim

Rap Monster, one of the seven guys in the South Korean boy band BTS, says it was only at the end of 2016 that he and the others realized how huge their band had become around the world.

“Somebody in the company sent me a message: ‘You got No. 26 on Billboard OMG congratulations,’” says Mr. Monster, the 22-year-old rapper born Kim Nam-joon, by phone from Chicago where BTS was set to play on Thursday before hitting Honda Center for a pair of sold-out shows on Saturday and Sunday.

“At first I thought, 'Ha ha, your humor isn’t really very good,’” says Rap Monster, the leader of the group and its primary songwriter. “We didn’t believe it.”

But as more messages started to ping onto their phones he says the BTS boys realized it was no joke: Their sophomore album, “Wings,” entered the Billboard 200 chart at No. 26 after its October release, making it the highest chart position for any K-pop act – not to mention one that sings primarily in Korean – and offering a bit of foreshadowing for Billboard naming the record the best K-pop album of the year.

Since then things have only gotten sunnier for Rap Monster, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook. In February, “Wings” was re-released in a new edition as “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” and the combined editions have since sold nearly 1.5 million copies worldwide. Music videos for “Spring Day” and “Not Today” were released a week apart last month as well and exploded on YouTube where they’ve currently racked up 59.2 million and 60.1 million views respectively.

“When we heard that and really got that, I was saying, 'OK, this is going to be a whole other world,’” Rap Monster says of the significance of the Billboard chart success and all that followed. “And I feel like we should do something more, and dream something more.”

This past week they’ve taken a step toward something more, playing their first headlining and sold-out arena dates in the United States, after previously having mostly played on multi-artist billings at KCON conventions held here.

“So many people just to see BTS was really an honor,” Rap Monster says of the opening pair of shows at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. “It feels dreamy these days.”

Not, mind you, that it’s been anything like an overnight success or an easy road for him and the other BTS members.

He grew up a top student in his school who loved American rappers such as Eminem and Nas, performing even as he attended high school and eventually catching the attention of BTS future manager Bang Si-hyuk at BigHit Entertainment in South Korea. And though he says he gave up on music when he was 16, lacking confidence in where he was headed, he says Bang encouraged him to stay strong, believe in himself, and sign on as the first to join BTS, even though at the time he wasn’t sure who or what it would end up incorporating.

“I was not aware of the other members,” Rap Monster says. “But I like the company and I respect them. And he promised to me, 'I will make you do your music and get big someday, so please believe me.’

"So I believed him.”

The other six members soon were selected, each of them bringing different talents on the mic or on stage. Songs were developed by Rap Monster and the other members, with a team of producers working to craft the best music from the raw material, the melodies and beats, that they created.

“Our chemistry is different from other groups,” Rap Monster says. “Everyone has their own points and characteristics. If I’m a bad dancer, a good dancer teaches me. If I’m a good songwriter, I help the others with a good melody.”

We ask the obvious question: Are you a bad dancer?

He laughs and answers: “Yes, I’m a bad dancer.”

Their music is different from a lot of K-pop acts that have made ripples on the American airwaves. They’re not popular because of the novelty aspect of their songs – think “Gangnam Style” by Psy from a few years back. And they’re not quite as bubblegum as a group such as Girls Generation or as eclectic as the synthpop of f(x), the first Korean band to play the South By Southwest festival.

Instead, BTS often aims for that sweet spot where R&B and rap get together, the kind of stuff Justin Bieber might be doing if he sang in Korean and there were six Bieber variations with fashionable hair and eclectic yet unified fashion choices.

“BTS music sounds like it’s from America,” Rap Monster says. “We decide to always watch the trends and watch what’s going on over the world. America’s the No. 1 market in the world so that’s why people in America prefer us.”

As for communicating through the language divide, Rap Monster says that’s partly handled by the group’s wildly enthusiastic social media following: “Fans translate our lyrics and interviews,” he says of a following that has landed them at the top of Billboard’s Social 50 list for a total of 17 weeks since “Wings” dropped in October. “They’re able to say, 'OK, BTS is talking about us and our lives.’”

And it’s partly addressed through lyrical subjects that express the common hopes and dreams and fears and worries of any teenager or young adult in any country.

“Our lyrics are mostly Korean but we always talk about the young people’s lives and their minds,” Rap Monster says. “There’s something similar between every young person in the world, in America or in Korea. We share something together even if we use different languages or live so far.”

American fans are also the savviest music lovers in the world, Rap Monster says, which made heading out on this brief headlining tour a little bit intimidating at first.

“We actually were scared of performing in America as a solo act,” he says. “Their playlists are the best in the world. I was really nervous for them.

"But after we were on stage our fear disappeared. They’re like everybody, they’re like friends. Singing along all of the lyrics even through the raps. They know how to play, the rhythms and the dances.”

An aside here to share our favorite piece of Rap Monster trivia. You might be wondering whether he spoke through a translator. He did not. His excellent English skills were polished in the classroom but also at home through what he refers to as “a Korean mothers syndrome.”

“'Friends’ was really famous for the mothers in Korea for English education,” Rap Monster says of the hit American sitcom from the '90s. “It was kind of like a syndrome. Korean mothers make their kids watch 'Friends’ even when they were eating food or playing.

"I think it really helped. It has like 10 seasons, I think, and I watched it like more than five times through the 10 seasons. They use the gestures and expressions, like, Americans use, right? I think that naturally teaches me how to speak or how to make a gesture when you try to express some emotions.

"Thank you, 'Friends,’” he says, laughing. “God bless 'Friends’!”

Rap Monster recently collaborated with the American rapper Wale on the song “Change,” which like some of BTS’ other songs – and unlike most K-pop – touches on politics and societal issues. He says he’d loved Wale’s music for a few years when the opportunity to do the song came along last year “like a miracle, like a dream come true.

"The song has already come out and we shot a music video together, but still sometimes I lie in my bed and think, 'Did I really do something with him?’” Rap Monster says.

He knows that boy groups from Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync to the Jonas Brothers and One Direction tend to have a finite lifespan before members get restless to move on solo projects, acting gigs and other opportunities. But he thinks the variety of interests and musical genres that individual BTS members have can be handled on the side or even within the group, and BTS itself can carry on.

So while Rap Monster says he’d love to collaborate with Drake or Miguel one day, Suga feels the same way about Kanye West and Flume. Jungkook seems more inclined toward pop R&B – his dream musical partners would include Bieber or Charlie Puth. V is a little bit old school, having mentioned Norah Jones and the Fugees as on his wish list. Rap Monster ticks off the rest of the band: Jimin digs Chris Brown, J-Hope is into the similarly initialed J. Cole, and Jin is a fan of old-school showman Bruno Mars.

“I always tell them that every time we have hits under the name of BTS we shine the best when we are a team,” Rap Monster says. “I know all the seven members, they love music, and I know their No. 1 wish is for us to perform and make music and sing and dance.

"Maybe someday someone will want to be on a television show or be an actor,” he says. “I just hope they know all of the popularity and fame and money is from the name of our team. That’s not one person, everybody contributes to the team.

"Nobody knows the future. I just hope it can last as long as possible.”

me: i’m not an emotional person

my mind: bitch do you know that season 3 is most likely what jeremy was referring to when he called lance and keith space ranger partners? the moment they had in the first episode of season 3 showed it. they’re starting to grow closer and put their bickering aside to be there for each other.

me:

Why you should watch Rupaul’s Drag Race

1. The winners:

The show didn’t have a white winner till season 4. S E A S O N 4. It has the most diversity.

first season winner: Bebe Zahara Benet -Black, won because fierce af

Second Season Winner: Tyra Sanchez -Black, she won because well, honestly she deserved it in the end..

Third Season Winner: Raja Gemini -Asian, won because honestly, it was either her or Manila, and either one deserved it as much as the other. Raja stood out with her fashion sense, and just how she does drag, fierce af. Raja is amazing and will be one of the best drag queens you ever see.

Fourth Season Winner: Sharon Needles -White, won because she stood out, and was different then most type of drag. She deserved it. Plus fierce af, her style is spooky, and creepy, she isn’t all glamour, but she is her own type of glamour.

Fifth Season Winner: Jinkx Monsoon -White, had narcolepsy and didn’t let it stop her. She improved throughout the season and deserved to win 100% Sweet af person and fierce af.

Sixth Season Winner: Bianca Del Rio -Hispanic, also a different kind of drag, not all fishy, but comedy. She is a comedy queen. and an insult queen, again won because she stood out, and is the funniest winner so far. Underneath all that heavy makeup and insults, she’s the nicest person ever. Fierce af

Seventh Season Winner: Violet Chachki -White, she deserved it 100% The youngest winner yet, and the fiercest. Her fashion level is beyond high, probably up there with Raja tbh. She was a bitch till episode 5 then you saw her change and you just loved her. Fierce af, bdsm goddess. Smallest waist in rupaul drag race herstory.

2. Each season is fucking hilarious, and as the seasons go along, each one gets funnier.

season 2:

Season 3: which we had the heathers vs the boogers drama, which WAS HILARIOUS. all the big drama started in this season. Plus we get the best queens ever. The top 5, not one was white.

Season 4: Oh god this is one of the best seasons honey.

Then we had all stars: where the best of the best and fan favorites come back from past seasons (1-4) where they come back to compete for the crown again, unless you already won.

Season 5; ah, the season of back rolls

Season 6. The 2nd best season.

Season 7:

3. It literally brings families together.

4. The lip-syncs: every challenge, their is always a bottom 2, and one goes home I’m going to post the best lip-syncs

5. They don’t call it rupaul’s best friend race for nothing. It’s amazing how everyone is friends after filming or when the show airs, because there is alot of drama, and sometimes that can pull friends apart. they are basically oNE BIG FAMILY.

anonymous asked:

what did u think about keith this season :0?

FAR TOO MUCH TO PUT INTO WORDS

ok ok so spoiler warnings for season 3, pls don’t read if u haven’t watched it yet!!

First of all, I MUCH rather prefer keith’s leadership over shiro. The reason behind that is, is that while shiro is clearly the better leader overall, keith is more active while shiro is more passive, and honestly in media it’s usually the villains who play the active role while the heroes just react. So it’s really fucking refreshing to see someone who’s actually ACTING and constantly on the move.

I know he’s FAR from a good leader and his dumb behavior in the first few episodes was really fucking risky and caused a lot of damage. But he’s j u s t starting out and also dealing with the loss of the most important person in his life, so he’s clearly not in the best emotional state. If he manages to deal with his emotions effectively and gains closure on…a lot of things, I think he’s more suited to lead voltron.

BUT T H E N!! THE THING IS THAT WHILE I WANT HIM TO LEAD, AT THE SAME TIME I DON’T BECAUSE IT’S MAKING HIM SO FUCKING MISERABLE.

The keith angst was strong in ep 1 and 2 but then for the rest of the season he just looks sad or tired or frustrated without letting out much emotion and that breaks my heart more?? Like he loses a significant person in his life, gets thrown into a role he clearly doesn’t want or is ready for, FINDS SAID PERSON AGAIN EXCEPT SURPRISE!! IT MAY NOT ACTUALLY BE HIM!!! and then this fucking fake shiro proceeds to say a few sweet words to keith, asks keith to lead the paladins on a mission, AND THEN PROCEEDS TO BUTT IN EVERY CHANCE HE GETS TO OPPOSE KEITH AND REMINDS KEITH HOW INCOMPETENT HE IS AS A LEADER!!! LIKE WHAT THE FUCK??? (i hate new shiro so fucking much like. idk who he is but he needs to le a v e and real shiro needs to come back asap)

Just. Keith needs to let out his emotions in a healthy way instead of just short bursts of anger. He’s not doing okay at all and he’s the saddest we’ve ever fucking seen him and it’s making me sad too binch. He needs to stop internalizing everything and really needs to open up or I can see him heading for an emotional melt down and I don’t wanna see that happen to him

8

I’m not sure I can shout any louder or more regularly that THIS IS CLASSIC ROMANTIC STORYTELLING.

Act 1.

~ Dean doesn’t believe in Angels.

~ Cas is a soldier and Angel of the Lord.

Classic antagonistic meet-cute. They get to know each other through season 4 as reluctant allies. Debate is rife between them as to the right thing to do. Denial is a running theme for Dean re: Cas, let’s be honest, not even romantically but the ever old “It’s Cas, he’ll be fine” etc. Denial is central.

Season 4 finale: THE NEW RELATIONSHIP. Cas rebelled. He did it, all of it, for Dean. They are now compatriots working together against Heaven and Hell.

~ Dean starts to have faith in Cas, he prays to Cas.

~ Cas starts to see Dean as his leader and ally, not the Angels.

Act 2.

Season 5 - 8. Getting to know you. Well its SPN, so not exactly Fun and Games but yeah, this is it. They do get to know each other, and we get to know them better too. Cas even occasionally takes part in some MOTW ‘fun and games’ episodes and we see the development of both the romantic Destiel and the very kindly clearly written as a mirror obviously platonic Sastiel for comparison.

Point of no return / deeper commitment: somewhere around season 8 / Purgatory. “I’m not leaving here without you” etc. This is also the point where Dean believes that emotions will break Cas. This is literally heartbreaking and affects how he reacts to everything moving forwards, most specifically it is the reason why he holds back so much other than when Cas is human (see all the meta about 2nd nightstands, all of 9x06, the bar scene etc). It is also a standard unrequited/undeserving/it’s better for them if they don’t love me love trope in order to drag the story out, just saying.

Falling for you / Complications & Higher stakes: Cas becoming Human. Dean’s Demon/MoC arc. All these arcs lead them to a more profound emotional development towards each other and more textual romanticism in the writing rather than the initial crush/interest.

Final straw for Cas: Perhaps believing Dean is dead in 9x23 but then consolidated in 11x23.

Final straw for Dean: Lucifer possessing Cas, the whole second half of s11.

~ Dean over this whole period comes to see Cas not as a distant Angel but in a much more Human way. He even might have stopped praying to him as he replaces it with phone calls / direct communication, but his faith in Cas is clear.

~ Cas replaces his love and faith in God with his love and faith in Dean (consolidated in 11x23) and doesn’t want be a soldier but wants to help people, maybe by saving people, hunting things…

12x12 is the expositional point telling us that Cas has CHANGED. It also is a call back to Dean’s worry that emotions will break Cas as here he is, emotional and breaking. Dean even bows his head and visually looks like he is praying (it doesn’t even matter really if he is or not, the effect for the audience is the key).

These concepts tie back round to and build on where they were BEFORE THEY MET to show how they have changed within themselves and grown in relation to each other.

So, Now. They have both experienced the complications and higher stakes towards each other. They have both fallen in love, Cas both metaphorically and literally falling (it’s only on becoming human that I think he truly realised how he felt, it’s both a narrative reality and a metaphor). Dean’s gone from having no faith to eventually meeting God and worrying the whole time about saving Cas.

Which leaves us currently at the Break up Moment.

Which is honestly exactly where I see this separation and all the questions about choices/Angels/nephilim/cosmic consequences going, leading us to….

Act 3.

Winning him back.

Why this was the most emotional love scene yet on GOT (imo, at least)

Let’s start with the obvious: The Stare
Wow. They look like they just want to drown in each other’s eyes. It’s absolutely beautiful - especially when you take into account the line from season one about finding love in a person’s eyes. And the best part about it is that line was said to Daenerys… Not to Jon. She initiated that stare with Drogo. And we never had anything like that between her and Daario or Jon and Ygritte. But now, Jon initiates it. He pulls back of his own choice just to stare at her. (I mean if that cave scene with Ygritte didn’t prove the man has great instincts, this one sure as hell does.) And regardless of whether or not Dany remembered the line, she’s completely mesmerized when she sees the love in Jon’s eyes.

Next: The Kissing
They kiss lip on lip only. There’s no sucking or licking on any other part of the body. Now, don’t get me wrong… there’s nothing bad about kissing other parts of the body but in this case, it illustrates the connection they have. I mean, there’s a reason Julia Robert’s character in Pretty Woman didn’t kiss on the mouth - ‘It’s too personal’. There’s something deeply emotional about it that just isn’t as strong when kissing other places.

Now, on to: The Positions
I love that it starts with Dany on top and then switches to Jon. It just goes to show that they are equals once again. Neither is dominant over the other. This is a relationship of respect for each other as much as it is about attraction. And I truly believe that deep emotional love requires mutual respect.

Lastly, and this is the biggest one for me: The (lack of) Nudity
Yes, you heard me right: The lack of nudity. Sure, you can see Jon’s ass (and gorgeous it is, too) and you can see that they’re both bare, but all the important bits stay covered. This is not the norm for HBO or GOT, masters of the 'Let’s add as much shock value as we can by putting them in some impractical position just so we can get a full frontal of the female’ mentality. And, honestly, I’m a little shocked that they didn’t jump at the chance to show Emilia in all her glory again. But they didn’t. Which, to me, says so much about the tone the scene was supposed to imply. They didn’t cheapen it with nudity. They didn’t go for an awkward camera angle just so they could get a shot of Emilia’s chest. In fact, they didn’t even get a shot of Kit’s chest, either. Their bodies stay plastered together the whole time which prevents any important bits from being seen - even when he flips them over. They’re two people who want to be as close to each other as they can. They’re not just having sex. They’re not just fucking. They’re not just testing it out to see if Jon’s swimmers are better than Daario’s. No, this is a deep bond. They’re in love. The lack of nudity implies romance because they don’t want to detract or distract from the longing looks and passionate kisses.

Which leads me to the honorable mention: Hand Placement
Again, this is about keeping it romantic. Their hands never roam below the waist. Dany keeps her hand on his back. Jon keeps his on her face. (My only wish here is that Dany’s hair had been down so he could runs his fingers through it.) But again, grabby hands would have distracted from and cheapened the moment and they didn’t want focus pulled from what was going on in their faces.

Say what you want about how short the scene was or how we didn’t get to see the first kiss (I admit it, I’m disappointed, too) but this was by far the most loving sex scene they’ve had on this show.

anonymous asked:

Why Clarke don't say anything when someone mentions lexa? not a word......

I mean, I don’t think she really has to say anything. Clarke is a very emotional person, she feels a lot, right? But she doesn’t vocalize those feelings a lot, she’s not the best at doing that. Now, her pain over Lexa’s death is particularly intense, intimate and raw. Lexa’s death is still a fresh wound. Three times we saw her express her love for Lexa out loud.

In this occasion, she pushes her emotions down and quickly shifts their discussion to politics and the urgency of Luna taking the Flame.

And then, there’s this (x)

And this (x)

Completely overwhelmed, shattered by the intensity of her pain and grief. Clarke feels everything but most of the time she keeps it to herself, so when we do see her break down, it’s a visceral experience.

Going back to your ask, you have to consider what is going on in season 4. It’s the end of the world. With everything that is going on, and knowing Clarke, you know she’s not going to break down every time Lexa is mentioned. Does that mean she is not grieving? Absolutely not. We had proof that Lexa is still very much in her thoughts in 4.06, when we saw her stare at Lexa’s drawing. At some point I’m going to write something about that scene, but it’s obvious that Clarke misses Lexa a lot. But anyway, Clarke is Clarke and she isn’t going to let her pain incapacitate her and distract her from what she has to do.

And she may not say anything when people mention Lexa to her, but it’s all written on her face. You just have to look at her to see the whirlwind of emotions hidden behind her eyes.

watching keith and lance go from butting heads, figuratively and literally… to openly caring about each other, supporting each other and being there for each other? watching keith and lance go from frequently taking jabs at the other and glaring at each other… to playfully teasing and having the sweetest looks on their faces when talking to/looking at each other? watching lance let go of his rivalry and step up to be the one that supports/comforts keith the most in one of his most emotional and vulnerable times? lance not flirting at all this season and almost always being there for keith? keith going from “who are you?” about lance to confiding in him, valuing his opinion and viewing him as important? lance being the only one who can keep keith in check and bring him back down to earth in shiro’s absence? keith trying to reassure lance about his place on the team, even though he’s not that good at it because he’s a loner and this stuff is probably pretty foreign to him? HONESTLY, I COULD GO ON AND ON BUT MY POINT IS…

“slow burn romance…”

“little hints that will pay off later…”

“[jeremy shada about lance] but i think there is, to some extent, at some point you’ll find that one person that above all you kind of fall in love with a little bit and realize that it’s nice to have that one person than kind of just going all over the place. not spoiling too much, but yeah. he’ll mature in all ways…”

“[lauren montgomery, on expressions] if we know that a character is feeling something about that- that moment- especially if we know there’s something coming up down the line that maybe hasn’t been revealed, but it would make that character feel a certain way- we try to insert in there a nod to it…”

among other things that have been said regarding these two and the romance in vld… no pairing fits the definition of a slow burn relationship like keith and lance do. no pairing fits all these little things that have been said in interviews like keith and lance do. no pairing has as much evidence from canon as keith and lance do. i have always thought this but after watching s3, it is completely undeniable to me… these two were meant to end up romantically involved. we literally know that lance is going to fall in love and at this point in the show, it would be very messy to try and develop a romance for lance that isn’t with keith… because he won’t be able to have nearly as much development with them, as he’s had with keith… not on the same level, not to the same extent. we are only 3 seasons in now and their relationship has changed so much… it will only continue to do so. out of all the characters relationships, we have seen the development between keith and lance the most. it has always been a point to show, in some way, how they are evolving together. it’s a natural evolution. the progression of keith and lance’s relationship is sometimes very subtle if you are not actively looking for it, especially if you are not viewing it as romantic, and that’s what’s going to make it that much more incredible when they end up together.
