Prompt: “Yell, scream, say something. Anything” “You can’t keep pretending it didn’t happen, cause guess what? It did!”“We’ll get through this, I promise”
You considered going home to look for him but driving drunk was never a good idea, even now you knew that. But as you turning the corner to the outside of the BAU you nearly ran right into Spencer, who was sitting against the wall, with his head in his hands. “hi” you whisper, not receiving an answer right away, understandably.
“Can I sit down?” you ask and he again stays silent, but he moves to the side a bit to make room for you. “Will you please say something?” You beg, Spencer met your eyes but still his lips stayed closed.
“I know how hard this must have been for you to watch, and I feel terrible that it took all that just for me to notice” you start, not really knowing where you were going with this “I should have come to you instead, I know that” you whisper, wanting nothing more than to cuddle into his chest and sob. You felt like lower than the low and you didn’t know what to do about it. You were going to go crazy if Spencer didn’t say something soon, you always relied on his to be your mind when you got to emotional.
“Spencer…I need you to talk to me-Yell, scream, say something, anything” you beg, turning your body to face him completely “You can’t pretend it didn’t happen, cause guess what?It did” he mutters and you barely catch his words
“I know, it hurts so bad Spenc, the nightmares…they hurt” you say and he nods, he knew, if anyone knew it was him. “You know you couldn’t have done a thing to stop it” he reminds and you sigh “I could have, I could have killed him and I didn’t” you ramble, and the emotion plaguing your voice broke down any resolve he had to be angry with you.
“If you would have taken the shot, he would have shot her anyway, you were wounded so the chance you would have made an accurate shot is under none” He tells you and you shake your head, you didn’t want to believe it but you knew he was right.
“I’m so sorry Spencer” you cry, burying your head in your hands only to feel his hand on your lower back in comforting circles. “I know, it’s okay…I’m sorry too Y/N” he whispers, putting his arm around your shoulder to pull you into him. “We’ll get through this I promise” he mutters, kissing the side of your head trying to comfort you more.
You meant the world to him, and he meant the world to you so you knew that with the help of your friends and the love of your life you could get better…Spencer had beaten his addiction and there was no way he was going to let you face it alone. He loved you far too much for that.
