Can we talk about how the movie Home is about alien-invasion-as-imperialism? And how it’s the first 3D animated film ever to feature a black protagonist? And how, in one memorable scene, that protagonist is described as having “beautiful brown skin?” Can we talk about that?
How great was it for you being back as Iron Man? It’s always fun, I really respect Chris a lot, and I think he’s done such a great job with Cap, and to really get some scene work with him… Also I’d say I don’t have to carry the movie, that’s on you! [x]
Ok, I just came back from Beauty and the Beast, and, well, in the last few days I was really skeptic about it, but as it turns out THE MOVIE WAS GREAT!!! Like, really great! I mean, it had some obvious flaws (like some scenes where the Beast’s CGI was painfully obvious), the first scenes after the prologue are really not that great (and that includes the “Belle” sequence), and the original animated film was better, but still!
I was crying at the prologue, I was crying in the middle of the film, and by the ending I was weeping!
I can’t fully judge the performances (especially not the ones from the objects) since I watched it in Portuguese (only for the nostalgia the songs would bring, tbh), so the only thing I can say about it is: Emma, react!!
Oh, and yes, Belle’s ball gown is still really underwhelming, but the ballroom scene is SO perfect you won’t even care about it.
“You don’t think this neighborhood is a little sketchy?”
“Oh yeah, I’m shaking in my boots.”
This scene had some really great dialogue between them. I really like how confidently he can reassure her of her safety without having to belittle her by saying something like “don’t worry Karen, I’ll protect you” or “you are safe with me around.” Karen has said so many times that she can take care of herself and doesn’t like being treated as the damsel in distress. That being said, she is often in over her head when it comes to dangerous, life threatening situations. She is obviously scared to be out somewhere so public after what just happened to her, and Frank sees that and addresses it in the best way. He calms her down with light-hearted responses and subtly reminds her that she has nothing to worry about because he isn’t afraid of whoever is hunting her down.
It’s literally one of the cutest films I have seen. The plot is smooth and <3 but it’s also kinda dark and sad. I think Cameron Crowe did an amazing job and I’m in love with everything about this movie. If I died tomorrow I would watch this movie two times (I would also break into Dunkin’ Donuts and eat as much as I could)
I love the characters so much. They are very relatable and adorable, and the actors were amazing. Kate Hudson impressed me and this film made me like her. I mean, really, ALL the actors are great.
Some scenes are so well done and well thought, and the dialogues are unique and funny. The mood of the film is nice, there aren’t any scenes like ‘oh my god that’s so dark and messed up’, so if you want to watch a cute little movie, there you go.
Yes, I always say I love movie’s soundtracks, but this one is really good, with Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and Elton John. So, you know, it’s very nice.
Is it weird that I want to be a groupie now? I’m leaving to be a groupie, goodbye.
